The decor is stunning and sticks with the character of the building while giving it a modern edge. Food was fantastic. We split the delcious Burrata appetizer and couldn't finish it. I almost think the bread was too much and something like crostini would be better. Truly I think we only noticed because we had ordered sandwiches. We both got the Braised Beef sandwich that was a special. The beef was so tender and the sandwich was huge. More than half came home with me and was just a great the next day. I loved that it was loaded with caramelized onions. The truffle aioli paired nicely with the truffle fries I upgraded to...hey...if you are going to go for it, might as well go all the way! My dining companion opted for the garden salad as his side and it was large compared to most side salads at other restaurants. The veggies looked crisp and fresh which was also nice to see. I had planned to just have water, but after hearing rave reviews for the cocktails, a Blackberry Mule was begging to be ordered. No joke, it was the best I've had. I appreciated the muddled blackberries and the ginger beer had a really nice bite to it. I wish I had thought to ask what vodka and ginger beer Forte uses. Wishing Forte much success!

Our waitress Jess was very attentive and also very entertaining which helped for a fun evening. We wouldn't hesitate to stop by this restaurant again.

So I came here to try their grub. First off, it's very much what I think everyone thinks a quintessential diner is. Multi-colored swooshes patterns on the countertop, tons of pop culture icons plastered against the walls, American country music playing on the speakers. If there was ever a tourist trap then this is it. The server was very nice and accommodating. Explained the menu and answered questions quickly. We got a poutine, a burger and hot dog, and some onion rings to round everything out. Food came out relatively quick. Pacing was good, got the poutine out first to munch on before getting the rest. The quality is very much a basic greasy spoon diner back in the states. Lots of stuff fresh out the freezer, prepared like a beach stand with stuff quick fried and sent out. There was some care shown, the burger was lightly seasoned and not overcooked. Bun was fresh and the hot dog had a good char to it. Besides that, it was underwhelming overall. That being said, it wasn't bad. Yeah, it was generic but you don't go to a place like this for solid eats. You come here for that little reminder of home or to explore from the comfort of home. In those cases, this place works. Given that it was literally next door to a Texas bbq place, they very much knew what clientele they were aiming for. If you're curious to try some of the most basic food that the US has to offer, then this place will allow one to experience that without having to drive there. It's better than a fast food chain, but there's a LOT more to explore if you ever get the chance to visit.

The servers all are super positive and seem to have great personalities. The menu is pretty diverse and the monthly themes with weekly specials are a fantastic touch. That being said the execution on the food is usually a little short of great. It seems like something is often just a little off. Coconut shrimp? Cooked 1 minute too long Creamy Parmesan Salmon pasta? Way too much Parmesan to the cream yields a very butter aftertaste. Butter chicken poutine? Dry chicken When they do hit it right the flavors are really solid. I'll usually come back when I'm traveling because the servers are so excellent. Hoping the kitchen can up the air game that extra half a notch.

A starter also came with the meal, either soup or salad. I chose the Mexican chicken and rice soup. It was hearty and delicious! Though I'd asked for no veggies or mushrooms, the meal came with both so I scraped them to the side. The pork chop was very good! I love scalloped potatoes and have never had them with tomatoes. These weren't scalloped potatoes as there was no cream. They were roasted potatoes with tomato sauce on top and weren't very good :( I was craving something sweet so ordered the warm chocolate cake. It was yummy! Brittanie and the other server took good care of me.
