We attended a monster truck show at the speedway up the road- what better way to cap it than with some BBQ! Ok- this was a slow Sunday at 4pm, and this is a very small town. Kudos to the owners for operating this outpost. We were basically the only people in the joint. Beer selection was limited (mainly due to much of it not being in the fridges), but it was nice they had juice boxes for the little pitmasters. Really should have ordered one of the platters- oh but wife wanted a sandwich lol... Well they come with bread as they should in Texas!! Anyways, my main disappointment was that my brisket was just pulled brisket. In Texas (God's Country), not only will the brisket be served sliced, but at the better places the offer your fatty (point) or lean (flat). The pulled brisket here was still fairly flavourful and well seasoned, but still it's like being served leftovers. For pulled pork, it's cool, brisket I'm not impressed. Sides were ok. Slaw- standard. I like it a little creamier not bad still. Potato salad was good! Cowboy beans also really true to Texas flavour. Being a slow Sunday- service was basically high school kids. News flash- this isn't a good thing. It may as well have been serve yourself. Would give it maybe one more shot- full platter and on a busier day. That being said I wouldn't drive from Windsor especially for it (Slows in Detroit is the benchmark), but I'm rooting for this place and would surely visit again if I was in the area!

Brisket is great! The bbq sauce is vinegar based and not the KC sweet molasses sauce I am use to,…read morebut not bad. However I am surprised that there is sauce as i have known Texas as dry rub bbq. Pulled pork was typical, ok. A no on sides. Tried cowboy beans and potato salad (half potatoes were still hard). Overall, if I am craving brisket, i would come back for that.

All the French fries are made in front of you with real potatoes! Worth the wait! Sides were delicious as well. I can only imagine how hot it is cooking on a grill and deep frying French fries outdoors. There could be some in that truck but no idea... it was my first time going and grabbed some jerky and smoked maple ham...of course we stopped and I got some tacos and the BF some smoked sausage from the BBQ pit and ate outside..Service was fast and friendly. After I wanted to go inside to use the bathroom and more importantly wash my hands after eating sticky sauced tacos. I went back inside and asked a lady working the meat counter where their bathroom was. She told me they don't have a public restroom and that there's port a potties outside. And I was like really? What do you guys do in the winter and she said customers had to use the port a potties. That's a bull crap move? So they got bumped off a star and I won't be back until summer. I went inside the one port a potties outside and it had flies in it and poop on the seat. Let's just say we stopped at the first McDonalds we passed on the way home...
