I would give this kennel a negative rating if I could. I kind of feel bad because the staff were very friendly. Which made me believe my dog was in good hands. When I called about the reservation, I was assured my dog would be in the cement room-type kennel as a 60-pound dog should be. I left him for a week at Christmas 2014. I HATE MYSELF for leaving him here. When I arrived back from my holiday, I found my 60-pound dog in a CAGE that he could barely stand up in because the cage was about exactly the size of his body.
Better yet, the cages were stacked three deep, so two levels of smaller sized dogs had peed and pooped all over him for the seven days I was gone. When I arrived to collect him, my dog was entirely listless, barely recognized me - the kennel was the loudest I had ever heard since so many stacked cages were in there. Staff were nice again. Again, I feel bad about writing this and I have never written a bad Yelp before but seriously - your kennel situation is unsanitary and your website has false advertising as well as your phone reps. I have now spent over a thousand dollars trying to correct illnesses my dog was infected with at your kennel.
15 minutes in car and I had to pull over on the highway because he and all his items smelled so bad of pomeranian pee that had showered down on him for 7 straight days in the freezing cold, that I had to throw all his blankets and toys on the side of the road. Not a big loss since his bedding was literally SHREDDED. Apparently my dog decided trying to dig to China was better than staying at this place and I believe he made the right decision with that. The dog was literally VERY WET. With PEE. And this was the first week of January. Getting soaked in pee in cold conditions is dangerous just for hypothermia, let alone hygiene.
The smell of the dog was so bad, we had to drive with windows down the entire 3 hours home. Upon arriving home, the dog began projectile diarrhea, which the vet said was severe bacterial infection of upper and lower intestines. He spent a month on antibiotics and rice diet. He has literally never been the same since. After that, we got a giardia diagnosis, then we had vomiting episodes. I had never seen my dog sick in any way in the five years I had him before this kennel..
My dog is Bangladeshi - grew up in Bangladesh. I had him for 5 years and had literally never seen him vomit or have diarrhea a single time in all those year - a dog that grew up in the filthiest country on earth. One week with these guys? Dog has been destroyed. Giardia, diarrhea, sever gut infection, more aggressive now with all dogs. You do NOT put a 60-pound dog in a 1.5x3 ft cage. WORST KENNEL EVER. Have spent over $1,000 getting my dog back to health after the filthy and inhumane conditions he was stored in at this place. read more
