Anyone who has spent more than five minutes in conversation with me has heard about Oscar Thelonious. As they should, he is the most amazing dog to walk the planet. There is a deep devotion (and unending supply of treats) that I hold for that boy (well, at 12, man). So, to entrust his care to others while out of town is the stuff of horror movies and restless nights. But then there's Pawisitivity Heaven. I set Oscar up to stay there a few weeks before traveling, based on the recommendation of a family member. I also liked the idea of daycare instead of simply boarding so that furry interaction and activity would occur. And then I arrived. Whether or not you would call this place "heaven" depends on how much you love dogs. For me, it was enrapturing the moment I opened the door. There are two play areas; one for larger dogs and one for smaller ones. And they were having the time of their lives! Barking, tossing toys, running around and peaking over the wall to check me out (well, the bigger breeds at least). Like people, you can tell when dogs are enjoying themselves. You can also tell when the individuals who care for them are genuine. This team is caring, thorough, and patient (more so with us humans and all of our questions). When they kneel down to rub a furry butt or bring one out to their human, the reaction says it all. Though I only saw the interaction a few times, each time I did there was trust present. And let me tell you, when I picked up Oscar he was grinning ear-to-ear. I immediately noticed that though he was happy to see me, his usual habit of rushing for the door after being boarded was absent. He didn't want to leave. And that is why my gratitude to Pawsitively Heaven carries a weight the words "thank you" cannot contain. Thank you for your love and care for dogs. Thank you for operating a business that does what is best for them, not the human. And thank you for the constant joy you bring each and every furry soul that enters your front door. 03 Aug 2024 We have been clients of Pawsitively Heaven Pet Care for 5 years. Today we brought our cat in for an appointment that had been made 4 weeks ago, for grooming. While waiting to check her in I observed a woman, that I have never seen at Pawsitively Heaven Pet Care, spraying a dog in the face with water for barking. While another woman, that I have never seen at Pawsitively Heaven Pet Care who was checking in a new client told me we could pick her up by 2:00 PM. I asked why if I had a 9:00 AM appointment that I would need to wait till 2:00 PM to pick her up. The response was "The woman that grooms the cats doesn't come in until 9:30 AM." My wife and I went out the car and had a talk, 30 seconds later I went back in and secured our cat and left. In all the 5 years that we have taken our fur baby to Pawsitively Heaven Pet Care we have never been treated this way. read more

The first time I took my 1yr old Cavalier King Charles puppy in for a full groom, they did a great job! We just picked her up for her 2nd grooming and I will NEVER bring my pup back or recommend this groomer. Her hair looks chopped, they didn't do her paws, they cut her tail even though we asked they not too, she smells awful, her belly wasn't even touched and they didn't clean the excess hair off of her shes shedding more now than she ever has, and she was terrified when we picked her up. Not only did they not follow our requests she looks worse coming out than going in...all this for $80 and then have the nerve to ask for a tip, which we are big fans of providing tipping even when services don't ask for it. I do not know what happened in the 3months between visits but I could not be more unhappy. Now my pup will be terrified if we take her to get groomed anywhere, they didn't just make her look bad on the outside they have gotten her to where she is shaking and won't leave my side. read more

I took my son's cat in for a shave down. He was very matted, older ,and skinny but otherwise healthy,happy, playful, and sweet. A day and a half later he died. He wasn't right from the minute I got him home. I chalked it up to stress. They cut him 11 time, a couple of them were quite severe. I can understand a few nicks here and there but if they weren't capable of doing it they should have turned me away. I'm guessing that it was stress. Maybe he had a stroke or a heart attack. I'm not real sure but I'm not the professional, they are, at least that's what they claim. If they didn't think that they could do it without harming my cat they should have turned me away. I spoke to the owner about it and I received No satisfaction. She did say she was sorry. Honestly I feel like she should have offered me my money back. The money is not the point, it was $90 but I have a hard time sitting with the fact that I paid for my cat to be killed obviously I won't be going back. read more

I take my shih tzu, Sammy, here when I have to run errands for the day. I also boarded Sammy here overnight when I went out of town with my son. I'm very fussy about my dog. He my baby! At the same time, I have taken the time to properly train him, socialize him with kids, people, and other dogs. I love my dog like he was one of my children. He is just the sweetest, cuddliest, loving dog. It kills me to go anywhere without him. Chris at Pawsitively Heaven dotes on the dogs. She takes superb care of the animals in her charge and does everything imaginable to ensure the dogs are comfortable, happy, and loved while their families are away. She comes to let the dogs out to potty, feed and give them water through out the day, evening, and night well after her business is closed. I came back a day early. Even though she closed at 2pm, she allowed me to pick up my dog at 10pm. She said she was there anyway to care for the other dogs. I was so impressed! She is such a loving and caring person. I highly recommend Pawsitively Heaven for all your pet care needs! read more

I've only gotten my dog's nails trimmed here, but the staff is always so pleasant and they do a quick and good job.

Unfortunately I was not impressed at all. I had a 9 o'clock appointment for my dog for a bath and trim and provided information on how I wanted him trimmed, how close (as I do not like him cut too close) and I provided a picture. I was informed that it would be a few hours which was OK. Unfortunately, I had to call because 6 hours later at 3 PM, I still hadn't heard from the groomers on how he was doing. I was informed, they still hadn't started because they were so busy; but they were about to. At 5:30 PM, I received a call that he was ready and they close at 6PM. Upon pickup, I noticed he was cut extremely too short as I could see the pink tones of skin through his coat, his coat was blotchy/patchy and was not smooth. I also noticed that he still had dandruff in his coat which I questioned why if he was given a bath. Which, the owner stated yes and to rub Shea butter on him. Later, that night my dog started whimpering, scratching, and licking himself like crazy; something he has never done after a grooming appointment. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this grooming salon as my dog was not groomed properly. I believe they omitted the bath and ran clippers over him because of time. read more

I brought my cocker spaniel here for some standard grooming. They told me the service would take up to 3 hours, but it took 5 hours. When I picked up my dog, he had visibly uneven shave/clipper lines straight down his back, some patches of sloppy cuts, and the hair on his ears even had clumps that were left uncut. I was charged $60 for service like this, and I can't say that I will ever bring any of my dogs there again. The employees are very friendly, but the business is anything but professional. read more

I would highly recommend grooming your pup yourself verses bringing them to Pawsitively Heaven. I specifically told them to put my dogs in the crate when they were done being groomed because our black lab just had ACL surgery and the slippery floors could cause him to slip and re injure himself. When I came to pick up my dogs they were running around on the floor and my black lab slipped and fell and has been limping every since. Neither of the 2 young girls working seemed to care. I will never take my pups back to this groomer. Not only did I tell them to crate my pups but my husband also told them. How do you trust a groomer who ignores your directions. Neither of the girls working seemed to even like dogs. Trust me and go elsewhere!!!! read more

To respond to the post above , I have been to different groomers throughout the Winchester area, and PAWSITIVELY HEAVEN was the only grooming place that actually cared and loved my dogs, everytime I have been in there they were nice and caring to the other animals too!!! They groom my dogs exactly how I ask them too! I know my dogs are well taking care and they come back home happy and unstressed. I feel safe leaving my dogs with the young ladies at Pawsitivly heaven !!! As the old saying goes if u don't have anything nice to say about someone don't say nothing at all!!!! read more
