I see a response from the owner to my 2017 review was written in 2024 saying I must be thinking of another place. Wow, that's funny. In 2017 when I got a camping space and THEN they told me there were no restrooms for the campers, as I recall from 8 years ago it was because things were out of order and being worked on. I was shocked and asked them, as a camper, where am I supposed to go? They had no answer. So I left. And I filled a formal complaint with the county health inspectors about luring me into getting a camping space only to then tell me there were no restrooms. He was as shocked as I was. OK, so this was 8 years ago and I'm sure their toilets have been fixed by now. But, no, i'm not confused and I did not have the wrong place. So that event gets to stay with you on Yelp hopefully forever, because it was a nightmare for me, I was ill and very tired and really needed a place to stay and it was a long drive back to find another place. read more

Passing through Cave Junction, decided to stop for the night. Didn't want to stay at the local motel, as I've read horror stories online of the local motel, so I decided to check out this place. Very satisfied with my stay. Easy check in. They have large and small cabins with kitchens, a RV park/campground, and a small motel. I stayed in the motel. Only $65 for the night which was very reasonable. The motel is probably from the 50s, and the decor is older, but very nice. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom were spotless. There are no phones at the resort, and my cell service didn't work. I have T-Mobile, but I don't know if Verizon or AT&T would work either, as the resort is a ways from town. However, the resort does have Wi Fi. It doesn't work in the rooms, but it works with speed fast enough to stream video in a common area in the middle of the resort. They also have DirecTV in the rooms. The resort had a snack bar, but it wasn't open when I was there, because there were only a few people staying there. He said that they need at least 10 people staying to open it up. I can understand that. They also have a laundry. Overall, a comfortable stay and a nice simple place. It's close to the attractions, being on the Caves Highway, only 15 minutes from Cave Junction, (Definitely check out the Great Cats World Park), and Oregon Caves is only a half hour further up the road. I moved here (to Cave Junction) from San Diego, Ca. So when my mother was coming to visit for my daughters 3 year old birthday, I was looking for a great motel that had a "Home" and Welcoming place for her to stay and be comfortable. There is a few places to look into here. However, when coming to check the motel out and the environment Country Hills was immediately "IT". This resort is nothing short of amazing. It's a bit dated. However, it's immaculately clean, the manager (Tanya) was so welcoming and caring. I have never seen someone at any B&B or motel or hotel etc. care so much to insure a happy stay! I mean this amazing woman even went so far to bring my daughter decorations for her birthday party. She always has coffee in the morning for guests, and gladly welcomes any request to make your stay spectacular. As far as the grounds, they're beautiful! You wake up to turkeys running the grounds and beautiful peacocks and deers. They even have a washing area to do your laundry and WiFi. And she wakes up early to clean these washers and dryers so well you would believe they were your own home washer and dryers. Her family helps care and keeps this place amazing and I wouldn't look ANYWHERE other then Country Hills EVER again if anyone I care about comes to visit! I could not THANK the Country Hills Resort and RV Park and the staff enough! You guys and your place is AWESOME! Stayed here on our way to the Oregon Caves. Campground was clean and well maintained. Nice staff and good customer service. Rv sites, tent sites, and cabins available. Our site was pretty, surrounded by tall trees, and next to a creek. To stay at a secluded site, it was a long walk to the bathrooms. Very clean bathrooms and camp sites. Found it odd that there were several people living at the campground in rvs, they appeared permanent. We didn't visit these, but thought it was cool that they offered a laundry room, ice cream parlor, and meals by request. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here Labor Day weekend 2015. The room was tidy. Beautiful wood cabin feel all over. Sitting outside on the picnic table you could see the stars and it was so quiet. We felt like we were kids at camp again. Very restful. read more

Rustic place with friendly people managing it. Great value for the room cost. We were brought good coffee to the room in the morning which was extra special. Keep in mind that this is primarily a camp ground type place. You're not going to get any decent internet, as we didn't even with the boost extender. It's a good location if you're going to the caves, which we did and enjoyed ourselves. This place is by itself out in the woods and we found it quiet on a mid-May weekend. We thought the turkeys wandering around were fun. read more

In town for a wedding and almost stayed at Junction Inn (scary place) off the highway, but with a little research I found this little gem. The cabin was cozy and kinda like staying at grandmas. The management was friendly and accommodating . No double sheeting here but I felt safe and the room was tidy. Found this place online because it was close to the Great Cats World Park. It was a bit more "bare" than I expected. It seemed we were the only ones there, so breakfast was not going to be served. We stayed in a cabin. It was large, well stocked and clean. The tv / directv was nice as we were not able to get the wi-fi in our cabin. I probably would not stay here again. I would spend the extra money and get a hotel with a pool and restaurants close by. read more

Well. It aint the Hilton. But it was a great value for the money and a fun place to hang out for a long weekend. The cabin we stayed in was clean and well equipped. The decor is dated, to say the least, but very functional. The grounds are well kept and the a/c in our cabin worked well. The bed was comfy and we slept well with the windows open after it cooled down. Turkeys and deer wander the grounds and the occasional cow. If you want to grill bring your own. We used the grills in the campground but it is a pretty good hike from the cabins. The host Tonya goes the extra mile and then some to make sure your stay is pleasant and is just plain fun to talk to. We had a great time and when considering another run to the area will definitely consider staying again. read more

We rented two motel rooms and a cabin for two nights for our family on a recent visit to the area. The "resort" has a motel section with about 6 rooms and then a cluster of several cabins. Nearly all of the folks staying there are long-term tenants. As we dropped off our young adult kids in their motel rooms, they expressed apprehension about how safe it was there. When I entered the bedroom in our cabin, it was HEAVY with pot smell. I told my husband there was no way I was going to be able to sleep there. We couldn't find any other accommodation options, so we were stuck. He set up a fan and opened the window to air out the smell, and by night it was tolerable as long as we kept the fan running. If we turned it off, the smell came back. We very quickly learned that the motel toilets did not work (water in the toilet wouldn't flush). When we reported it to the owners, they seemed surprised by this and told us later it was fixed, but it wasn't. Talking with some of the longterm motel tenants, we were informed this was a regular known issue. One said they had been told by the owners to not flush anything other than urine (no tp, no other bodily waste). Luckily the toilet worked in our cabin, so the rest of the family walked down to our cabin every time they needed to use the restroom which was a pain. The motel rooms had air conditioners, but one did not have a knob to adjust the settings, so it was just either on or off. The cabin had a swamp cooler in the living room, and it was pretty hot in our bedroom. We had made phone calls with questions prior to our trip. During one call, I asked about wifi. The owner said it wasn't great in the motel rooms, but it should be fine in the cabin. We didn't have wifi anywhere. We could see the router and connect but never got any actual internet. We noticed some residents sat on the picnic tables for general provider internet service. Our kids tried that, but service was very slow and spotty. The motel rooms had working tv, but our cabin's tv did not work. It turned on but would not connect to the satellite service. The good thing was we had a lot of offsite activities planned, so didn't spend much time at the "resort." We were very glad to check out and leave. read more

We checked into the large cabin stayed for 15 min and checked right back out. It was more rustic than the pictures gave way. The kitch was a little tired. The room was hot and cooled by a swamp cooler that was not working. There were bugs on the carpet . The wifi nor the direct tv worked in the cabin. Hmmm. I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but this place is NOT a four or five, or even three, star experience. On the middle-of-no-where adjusted scale, I reluctantly am giving it two stars. The second star is because the owner is super nice and serves a huge and very yummy ice cream cone. The cabin had a bedroom with two full beds, which were tolerable and the linens were clean. The carpet in the bedroom completely sketched me out and I wore socks to bed rather than have to walk on it in bare feet. Bathroom was bare bones. It came with one teeny, tiny bar of soap, which was hardly sufficient for a family of four. I was not expecting high-end, but did assume that they would at least have a tiny bottle of off-brand shampoo. Kitchen was either well-worn, but full stocked. Living room: there is no way to describe the couch here...definitely a relic from the 50s or 60s and not been cleaned since then. My husband says that there is a chance I was mistaking old for dirty, but I am not convinced. Be forewarned that they offer breakfast, but only if there are enough guests in residence. We ended up having a good breakfast at the lodge at the caves. read more

We hoped for better. The rooms smelled of smoke, wet dog, or Febreze. Their was no changing of sheets or towels. All the windows did not open. WifFi was very slow. I just got back from a 4 day trip to the Oregon Caves. My boyfriend, his nephew, and wife stayed in Cabin #10. I had reserved this cabin months ago with the idea that there was one bedroom and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Two weeks before the trip I called and spoke to Judy- one of the owners of the property. She told me the sofa bed no longer functions. I said do you have any other room and she said no. Therefore we were forced to use our own blow up mattress. When we checked in we asked for a discount and she gave us a whole 5 dollar discount. She was rude about the entire situation as was her husband. The cabin itself advertised as a fully equipped kitchen had no mugs, and barley any silverware. Also there was no map of the property grounds. There is no beach access to the river as advertised on the website. Very peaceful setting and close proximity to the Oregon Caves. Better customer service including telling the truth, I would have ranked this a 4. read more

We stayed at the Campgrounds and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves..We had a huge site rite on the water n only yards from the flushing toilets and hot showers!! This town can have some unsavory characters and as a single woman camping with my elderly frail mother I felt completely safe and at home! The staff are kind and accomodating, they were absolutely wonderful! I felt as if I were part of the family! It is a simple (rates are reflective of that) family operated resort, in the middle of a forest. So if you adjust your expectations to that you will have a fabulous time there. We most certainly have made this our destination of choice when visiting Cave Junction! We plan to try out the motels n cabins when the weather is not camping friendly!!! We booked a motel-style room because of the location (closest to Oregon Caves Nat'l Monument, where we were visiting in the morning). The motel-style rooms are basic, clean rooms with no frills, but are well kept and fine for a decent nights sleep. They have DirecTV, so got lots of TV channels, and the room was very quiet at night. The staff/owners are very friendly, and check-in/out was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area and recommend it to others. read more
