I thought they were great! I booked my sons drivers test, they had us in and out within 4 minutes and on the road he went with the instructor. I had a rental car booked the inspector looked at my vehicle cancelled the rental saved me money and let my son drive my car as it was a minor chip on passenger side. Staff are nice enough and efficient in handling transactions but line up is always outside the door every single time I've come here and they definitely need to have all kiosks staffed to keep up with demand. My son did his learners test here and it took him less than 15 min to write and pass it but having to wait in line for 30 min before the test and another 30 after the test is unacceptable. It wasn't until one of the workers clearing up the test areas noticed him and said he didn't have to wait in line after the test and to skip ahead but he was already in line for 30 min at this point. Then when we did skip ahead got some nasty glares from those waiting in line bc they didn't know we had already waited TWICE! Perhaps have signage somewhere stating those who are doing road tests or learners exams go to a specific kiosk afterwards? There was a guy who was only catering to road tests who was sitting in the small office playing on his iPhone, and he told my son to go back and line up outside the door to wait for his turn. Zero communication between this guy and the ladies at the kiosks. Perhaps this guy could help the ladies at the kiosks facilitate vision tests or get the paperwork rolling if he's got some downtime between road tests??? And it's way too loud in there for those doing their learners test, people were chatting with each other in line, iPhones were ringing and kids with parents were playing games on their phones at full volume. Zero respect for those writing tests and staff didn't seem to care bc it got pretty loud in there at one point and one guy came in and started making small talk with anyone who would engage with him and he didn't have an internal volume gauge so he was basically taking at bar volume for a good half hour all while my son and others were writing their tests. I avoid this place as often as possible and tend to go to the North hill mall registry, a lot more people working and it's never crazy busy like it is here. read more

I just got back from Country Hills Plates and what a gong show! There is no longer a true line up of customers. There is a sign that people need to use their phone and register in the queue or ask an agent to do it for you. Cannot get close to an agent until your name is called; they don't have your name. If you don't have your phone, what do you do? I for one will not support stupid. read more

Never enough staff. Line out the door and 3 people working the counter, 3 unused wickets. EVERY time I come here (for work) it's a huge line up. This is poor customer service. read more

Great location to get license renewals and registry taken care of. It can be busy but there are usually at least four people at the counter taking customers. Friendly staff. My teen found this location was too busy to take their Learner's test for licence. The computers are right out front beside the line up. And on a busy day it is extremely distracting for a nervous teen. Reduced the rating by one star for that. read more

They booked another person during my road test time, so they had to reschedule me for later in the day. Already a terrible start. Next, they force me to wait around all day, saying that they will call me once their examiner is ready to take me out. I had to call them before they closed only to hear that they didn't even reschedule me. This registry is more expensive than most others in Calgary. The service is terrible. The management is disorganized and the staff are not well trained. I would highly recommend saving your business for a different registry, even if it's a further drive. read more

Customer service is horrid; they don't reply to emails/website tickets/phone calls. I took my drivers test there and I was extremely unfairly assessed and I emailed and called several times to state my case and never heard back. The instructor could barely speak English (the language barrier made it very difficult to understand his directions and also his critiques) and deducted me points for things that previous instructors/examiners told me to do. I would not recommend taking your drivers test here because the examiners, or at least 2 of them, have no idea what they're doing and one even decided to use a back-handed racist remark. read more

Never had a bad experience here. The line can be pretty long sometimes so be prepared to wait longer than 20 minutes. I always come here for license renewal, plate renewal and corporation renewal because it's nice and close to home. YAY! read more

I've never had a bad experience here. There's usually a wait if you go during evenings but that's to be expected at any registry. They don't provide the handy pink slip covers but that's OK. Everyone is friendly as long as you say hello and smile first. read more

I used to come here to renew my vehicle registration however I've noticed a real drop in the quality of service over the past 5-6 years. Today I went in, waited in line and they pulled people from the line behind me, friends of theirs I guess but after waiting for 20 min this is not appropriate. Their customer service is the worst... I let them know that was not acceptable and walked out as did the couple behind me. read more

Terrible, avoid this location like the plague, horrible people to deal with. They aren't very polite, and they will nit pick at every single thing. Just a frustrating experience, we literally had to come back 4 times, and they still continued to make more excuses and requirements.. I've experienced better in other locations, where they are at least a bit relaxed and understanding, but not here, don't expect to get any of that. It's like a dictatorship, if you can't have it their way it's not happening lol. I wouldn't contribute a penny or my time to this location. That may change in time, but as of 2013 and the staff that are currently working at Plates.Inc I'd highly recommend avoiding them. read more

Very bad experience. I had so much problem getting an AB driver's licence here even though I already had one in the past (which was still within its original 5 yr validity). Went to another registry and got it in 5 minutes (the one in Taradale). I was stupid enough to apply for a health card with them (on the same trip that I attempted to get DL). It never went through. Spoke with AB health today after 2 months from application date (I thought it would take 6-8 weeks so I waited) they said they didn't have a record of it. Phoned the registry and was told their only job is to fax it, that it's not their fault if the application didn't go through and that I have to go in again to fill out another application (yeah, as if I am that stupid...). I asked to speak with a manager (don't know if the lady they transferred me to was actually one - named Jody). I began by saying that I have heard other people having similar problem with the health card application, she cut me of and asked me if I was speaking for the entire city of Calgary! I said no and it's just that there was a problem with my application and other have had the same. She then told me to speak about myself and not other. The issue here was her tone. Sure, getting complaints is never pleasant but a good business should know how to/attempt to address them. I knew better than to waste my time and hung up. Obviously this was my own experience at this registry (because god forbid I dare talk on behalf of the entire city of Calgary!), but I highly suggest you go to a different one. read more

Some of the people worked there should be fired. I had fair experience for the first time visiting there. It was an elder lady, very slow. But later, the lady served us was awful. She called the person in line in front of me to the desk, and went to talk to someone who was working there for 5 min for nothing. Then she was giving wrongful information and lied about what I need to provide in order to get the service done, so I had to go back three times. I wished I'd read the reviews before I went there, spent over $200 at this location for two of the vehicles we have, and that's it. Good luck with your business. Renewed my plates and license a couple of times, the staff are rude, but it doesn't bother me, what it does is; I've took the drive test twice, I didn't make too many mistakes, but the person who is taking the test assign maximum points for everything making me fail. I found, after, that other registry offices are way friendly and also I've pass the advanced road test at first try, and also it was cheaper. I will never come back to this registry office. read more

I went to the city centre registry so they could look up my AHC application as I am newly married and had a name change, and it's been several weeks and I haven't received anything in the mail. They told me to call the Registry I submitted my application. Wehn I called, I spoke with Jody and asked her about my application. She said I would have to come in and they don't keep applications for more than 72 hours and she couldn't tell me anything on the phone. When I asked her if she could just look up my application as the city centre did, she said why would i look it up if you already asked city centre registry to do so. We went back and forth and finally I told her I thought her that her customer service was horrible and before I could say another word she hung up on me. Not only did they not submit my application, but their service is horrendous! Do not ever deal with Jody there! read more

country hills registry is a sorry registry with sorry staff. the staff are rude and void of any sympathy. the women are especially rude and pretentious and act as if we are lucky they are giving their time. the road test instructor, by the name of gord, is rude , impolite and impractical. he gets mad very easily and reminds me of an ogre. he needs to retire and leave that registry. the entire staff should be fired. they all seem to hate their lives more than anything. don't recommend. read more
