Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. Unlike Augie, who was always sweet and extremely mellow even as a puppy, Nala bit us in the face, barked, destroyed things in our home and terrorized Augie to the extent that he would run away from her. We weren't sure we could keep her because she was so badly behaved and seemed untrainable. In the span of 3 weeks, David transformed Nala from a challenging puppy into a dream puppy. She obeys all the commands, walks off leash in our wooded neighborhood, sleeps hours later than when she left and most importantly she is able to play well with Augie who now seeks her out and willingly allows her even to sleep in his own bed. David sent dozens of videos so we could watch her while she was in training and learn the language she was learning from David. He kept in contact and was even able to drop her off and meet our other dog for a walk with Nala. Without Massachusetts Dog Training, we would likely have given our wonderful puppy away and never realized what a gem we had. David helped to uncover Nala's true potential and helped us to realize how smart, sweet and special she is. We will be forever grateful for his wisdom, expertise and love for our Nala.

We had an excellent experience with Christina. Our 3.5 year old Yorkie, Loki, was so full of…read moreanxiety that he would literally run around the house terrified for four hours straight barking and "screaming" as we called it (like the screaming goat) as late as midnight. It wasn't his fault, but we had to do something. He was taking medication recommended by our vet at the time. Christina's first visit was spent talking to us through Loki's barking and crying from his crate literally right next to us. She could see that in this state, he needed help before he needed training. She recommended we talk to our vet about a different medication, as she suspected the one he was taking was actually making his anxiety worse. She also recommended a change in his diet from store bought (high end) to homemade. We agreed to do these things and meet again in two weeks. When she came back, Loki was a different dog. He still needed training and still had anxiety, but we could now learn how to desensitize him to the things he was afraid of. (Doorbell, packages, strangers on walks, other dogs) Christina taught us the skills to train Lokie on these issues. Desensitizing will take time and commitment on our end and we are doing our best. :) We were not looking to teach our dog tricks, he does know the basics now though. We were looking for peace for Loki and our family. We are able to sit with him and take him places once again. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!!

One Mission Dog Training trained Honey to do many great things, like have patience, her service dog task, and her obedience, which is why I'm disappointed as to why they didn't answer when I asked why and if Honey could pick up another task/other obedience.

I called on a Friday and left a message to inquire about having my 30 lb Icelandic Sheepdog groomed. I received a text message from Lucas on Sunday following up. When I told him the size and breed of my dog, he replied that they cannot currently accommodate new customers with longer-haired breeds, as the groomers are booked months in advance and they can't keep up with demand. Lucas was professional and apologetic and for that I'm appreciative. Being in a position to turn away customers and income is a good problem to have for any business, and I hope that they continue to see high demand for their services. However, from the customer perspective, the reality is that I called a business requesting a service, and I was turned away. Unless you're a nightclub, that type of treatment, as necessary as it may seem in the short-term, doesn't bode well for long-term success. I still have a dog that needs to get groomed, and I'll have to take my business elsewhere. In doing so, I'll likely recount the experience of being turned away to other dog owners, and as any business owner knows, word-of-mouth is crucial to success. For the future, I'd recommend the team take a different course of action than to simply turn people away- rather, advise on the lengthy wait time, offer to make an appointment, no matter how far out, and offer to call if cancellations arise. I would have greatly appreciated that courtesy and felt as if they really wanted to earn my business. Instead, I was left feeling shut out and as though this business couldn't be bothered to accept my money. At the end of the day, simply saying "sorry, can't do it" to a customer, no matter how necessary it may feel and how politely you deliver the message, will always leave a bad taste in their mouth. They'll tell others about that bad taste, and they'll likely never return.
