The spacious outdoor areas are so much fun for the dogs to run and play. The staff really does their best to pair up the dogs with others who have similar temperaments. Our pup comes home exhausted, well fed, and happy! Southborough kennels does offer extra add on services like Pupsicles, baths, or bedding washes. (There are others but we've never utilized them). The ONLY complaint I have about Southborough Kennels is that they book up REALLY far in advance. Their booking system is all online and offers calendar dates several years out, so many customers just go in and book all the "Christmas Weeks" for the next five years. It makes getting a spot the hottest ticket in town! But clearly, that says something about Southborough Kennels! So I'll recommend, as long as you don't take my dates! ;)

It is by far my kennel of choice when planning to board him. Sunny is a timid boy who is overwhelmed by rambunctious dogs and can become withdrawn and shut down in unfamiliar spaces - the staff takes extra effort to provide him outside time with relaxed and calm dogs. They've sent videos of him in the yard with the others and I can see just how happy he is, running around just like he does at home. I see this as a testament to just how much he loves it at Southboro Kennels. I also like that the actual kennel spaces are separate enclosed runs with indoor and outdoor spaces, which can house one dog or a few dogs from the same pack. I feel that the dogs get more space and more freedom than at other kennels where they are confined to a single room and taken out periodically for bathroom breaks. I have referred a few other fellow dog owners here and they have all been impressed with the service at Southboro Kennels and in all cases have made this their boarding facility of choice (even traveling out from Boston to come here)! The one thing that I will say is that because Southboro Kennels is so well-loved by their clients that it can be difficult to reserve boarding for your pets , especially in the peak seasons (summer and winter holidays). I've called 2 months in advance to inquire and have been placed on a waitlist due to the kennel being fully booked, so keep this in mind when you are planning trips. and try and book out as early as you can!

I was assured I could still bring my dog, but I would not be allowed to see the facility at all. When I balked a bit, the person told me she would be very happy leaving her pets at a facility that she can not check out beforehand, and I should too. WHAT???? Isn't visiting a facility the first thing you should consider before leaving your dog there??? So a wasted trip because no one can bother updating the web site to say you can never see inside.

Our consult was with Nance, and she was very patient in explaining the process and talking us through some initial things that we were struggling with. Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. We also started bringing our dog to their dog day camp 2x a week. Tim was also very patient in explaining the process. The dog day camp has been great in getting her to play with other dogs and allows her to learn obedience from others aside from us.

Yelp has hidden four positive reviews because it deemed them unhelpful? Little known fact, you can pay yelp to remove or bury negative reviews.... This is repulsive as are some of these reviews. They have outdoor areas for excersize and socialization. They have indoor areas for quiet time and rest. They have full time daycare during the week and boarding on the weekends. They keep everything clean and are great with the dogs. When one of my dogs recently passed she collected a bunch of pictures from our dog spending time there and had an amazingly personal blanket created with pictures of him as well as sending a sympathy card and flowers. Whoever said she wasn't personal or good with dogs should be ashamed of themselves. Cyber bullying is for the weak.

One of his favorites, Nancy, is also very knowledgeable about dogs and lets us know if she sees anything out of the ordinary we should be aware of. We get email reports after each walk and sometimes we get photos. We recently started to use their overnight service when we can't take Sammy with us.
