My dog returned wrung out with anxiety and unable to rest after spending five days in a back enclosure with 30-35 other dogs and not once having been walked. I was told that my dog did not respond properly to the counselors' name calls, which is why he was kept in the backyard. Why not take the dog on a walk on his leash? Town and Country promotes itself as an adventure camp, distinguishing itself from other boarding facilities that keep dogs in yards all day, and charges a premium for this service. Marian had assured me that new dogs would be attached to a 30-foot lead and attended by two counselors when taken out of the yard. Unfortunately, they did not follow through on this "camp" experience.*Marian later contradicted her initial assurance by saying that dogs needed to respond to a stranger's call before being taken for a walk in the park Additionally, upon pick-up, a counselor explained that my dog and another dog had snapped at each other during mealtime because they were not crated. This was contrary to the safety measures I had requested. Bottom line, the promises made regarding safety and exercise were not fulfilled. It appears that only a select few dogs evaluated by them to be "responsive" receive walks. I'm grateful to one of the counselors there who no doubt, acted as an ally to my dog and likely ensured his safety amidst a potentially dangerous environment.

He gets all his medications and is clearly eating his meals while there - which really shows that he feels right at home. They really are so unique and we are very thankful. One of them is 14 years old and is in CHF. Before I say what I'm about to say - I completely understand that if a facility does not have oxygen tanks and other medical resources/staff to aid in the event of an emergency, that they will not take my dog in CHF for grooming - I get that part. I spoke to THREE different people about this, thoroughly explaining my dog's condition and each time I was NOT told that that was a dealbreaker. I continued to make their accounts, requested bookings, and uploaded their vaccination records and medical records (particularly for my dog with CHF). Everything was approved and verified by the staff - per what their portal was saying - and the appointments have been on the schedule for 2 days. To add on to this, they actually had to last-minute reschedule one of the dog's appointments due to a staff emergency. I was fine with that, but again, there was no implication at all that the appointment was at risk for being cancelled due to my dog's condition, hence being rescheduled. It was rescheduled and I waited another day with no sort of outreach from Wagging Tails about anything.... until THIS MORNING (both appointments were supposed to be today) I get a text message because god forbid they have the decency to make a phone call, saying that both appointments have been cancelled due to my dog's condition and the lack of equipment/medical resources on hand. THAT WAS NOT BROUGHT UP ONE TIME, EACH TIME I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE ABOUT MY CHF DOG'S APPOINTMENT. I am extremely displeased with the lack of communication and professionalism, as well as overall respect by this place. When I called this morning to ask again, WHY, this was being done in the first place, but more so WHY was this not communicated to me beforehand when I scheduled the appointments days ago... AND SPOKE WITH YOUR STAFF DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS CONCERN???? Of course, whoever picked up the phone with me this morning had no idea why I was so displeased... claiming that my dog's condition was "never brought up in discussion prior to now"... don't even get me started. I truly could keep writing about how this place is a huge waste of you and your animals' times, but now I have to start the whole process over and desperately search for grooming for my dogs all over again! Wagging Tails, I strongly suggest you do better on your end because this isn't looking great for you guys, and I can confidently claim that I will not be considering this place in any future, let alone recommending it to anyone. Erica and I took our dogs here late last night after we had a terrible fear they had been poisoned…read more I'll spare the details, but their behavior and condition scared us pretty bad. We did a Google search for "24-hour ER vet" and went with the first hit... Now I saw a lot of anger and vitriol about the wait times and the vet fees at this place, so I was prepared for the worst. The wait time proved to be about as expected. I mean, this is emergency care. You have to expect long wait times especially if your issue is not "immediately life threatening". After we paid the check in fee, both our dogs were seen instantaneously by a vet tech. She was competent and friendly and accurately determined that our dogs weren't in any imminent danger. *phew* So our minds were put at ease. That's when our "wait time" began. And yes, it was slightly longer than we expected. But like I said; it's the ER. It's a crap shoot. After the extended wait, both our boys were examined and diagnosed by a friendly and knowledgeable DVM. It was a fast exam, but it was clear she knew what she was doing and had all the answers we needed. Our boys got what their treatments and we were on our way. As far as the fees go, YES they are quite high. Again, it's the nature of the ER and this place shouldn't be judged so fiercely on just that. But let me tell you, it is surprisingly expensive to go here. We are the types who say "whatever it takes" when it comes to our animals -- and even we were a bit surprised by the high cost of treatments. In the end, I'm not unhappy or dissatisfied with the care our dogs got at this place. In fact, the opposite. It was a late night emergency situation - not a regular exam or basic health concern. I hope to never be put in the situation where I need to depend on a 24 hour emergency vet clinic, but in the off chance I was, I wouldn't avoid this place. Based on my one personal experience, it was adequate and acceptable. That being said though, to anyone bringing their animals here; a few words of advice. 1: make sure it is a real emergency and you cannot wait until the next morning to see your normal vet. This is an ER. If your dog has a runny nose and you bring him here, you will be asked to wait behind the dog who was just hit by a car or the dog whose having full-on seizures. 2: Be prepared to wait longer than you are used to if your animal is not in "life threatening danger" (remember, it is an ER) and even if you think your dog is in imminent danger, you are probably not a vet and are probably not thinking objectively. 3: Be prepared to pay a little extra money than you are used to. (Again. Remember, it is an ER.) It is pricey to go here, so make sure you really need it when you make the call to go. If you can go into the clinic with those three things in mind, you will find this place is more than adequate for getting your animals back to health and probably won't feel compelled to write an angry review trashing people who, in actuality, are doing a really good job providing an important service.

But after a ton of research, it became clear that Contented Cats has no equal in the area - and for great reason! Having CC take care of my lil girl made what could have been a stress-ridden vacation easy and free. From the love Gwen has for, and the joy she clearly takes in animals, to the photos and videos of my kitty playing in their care area made me so comfortable on my vacation. The cat enclosures are 3 to 4 times larger than your average cat-hotel "room" and the majority of them look out of windows to a front yard with chickens (in the summer). The ones inside still get plenty of natural light. What's more, when you visit the space, all of the cats are calm and happy, sleeping or playing. What's more, when I went to pick my girl up, she was all purrs and nuzzles - but also wanted to stay, play, and get some pets from Gwen. To me, that's the sign it was the right choice. She thought nothing of having me bring my cat who had never been there before, shove him in a crate and the leave right after he gets there for 2 hours? The whole point of me bringing him was for her to meet him, see how he does. When I asked if it might be better to bring him later that day when she would be around, she said no I'm having company!! Again WHAT?? How much attention and time was she planning on spending with my cat who would probably have been frightened as can be. I would NEVER bring my cat there and I'm so happy that I learned what she's truly all about beforehand. Looks can be deceiving!!

I do not recommend this place for taking care of your dog. I brought my dog there for a week while…read moreI was on vacation, and I thought everything was going well until I picked her up. I dropped off a confident, vibrant 3-year Whippet in perfect health and picked up a timid, completely out-of-it dog that had obvious severe injury to her hind legs. My dog could hardly walk when I picked her up. Her hind quarters were so severely out of sync from her front legs that I took her to an emergency vet on the way home immediately after picking her up. The ER vet at first thought she had a tick-borne disease that was causing general lameness in her body since both back legs were not working properly. The vet's quick check found a tick still stuck on her during their review. The tick tests came back negative, which was good but then they needed to do x-rays to see if she had broken something bone-wise. X-rays showed no breaks or fractures. This led the vet to be unsure as to what was wrong with my dog, perhaps sprains on both legs that were so severe they went up into her belly causing the odd wiggle of her back legs. It has now been 8 days since I picked her up. Lolli has been on anti-inflammatory and pain-killer medication since then. Lolli still cannot walk properly or put weight on her right-hind leg. I have an appointment with my regular vet tomorrow to ask what we should do next. I used to proudly tell people "Lolli's never had a bad day in her life". It's heart-breaking this is no longer the case. When I picked up Lolli, when I saw her, I couldn't believe it. She was freezing cold shivering with the most violent shivers beyond anything I've ever seen. And she couldn't walk. I couldn't believe it. Lolli was really hurt and not doing well. I asked what was wrong with her and they said they weren't sure and asked if she generally has hip problems. My dog is a 3-year old Whippet in excellent health; she's never had a health or body concern in her life. Sadly, this is no longer true. When I asked how long she had been like that, they told me "about two days". This kills me. I do not understand why they would not have taken her to a vet to get looked at or called my emergency contact to alert that my dog was injured and any moving around would just be making things worse, to ask what we wanted to do. I cannot believe it. When I got Lolli to the car, I sat in the backseat with her for a bit because I was nervous about what was wrong with her. The lady came out to ask if everything was ok, and I told her, yes, I'm just really nervous about what's wrong with her. The lady responded, "oh I know, I'm the same way". This is infuriating. If you really felt that way and extended those feelings to the dogs you watched as part of your farm stay program, you would have taken her to a vet or called my emergency contact rather than let her hobble around in obvious pain and injury for two days. If you decide to take your dog to the Laszlo Family Farm Stay program, they will be let out in a field every day, with seemingly no supervision, or at least no one who cares about how the dogs are doing, until you pick them up. I trusted this place too readily; I shouldn't have. I sent one check-in email towards the beginning of my trip to ask if they could try to keep Lolli warm as she can get very cold if it's cold out. It's not difficult to warm up a dog for a few minutes before they are scheduled to be picked up from boarding. It's as though they didn't care one bit about how distressed, cold, and obviously injured she looked. I'll never forget how bad my little girl was shivering and hobbling when I arrived. I was so excited to see her; then seeing her and seeing how she was. My heart breaks thinking about it. I'm so sorry I put my dog in that situation. I really hope she recovers 100%. I do not recommend boarding your dog here. As a follow-up, the ER vet suggested I might want to contact the BBB to file a complaint and explain our experience. I will do so once I see how things go with Lolli's healing.
