Boy, has this been going on for a while. Buckle up, because this may get lengthy. So in April 2018 my fiancée and I purchased a house that Coulter had installed a French drain and sump pump in. Shortly after purchasing, we had been experiencing a lot of rain and the French drain became backed up with dirt and our basement became partially covered in water. This happened multiple times. We had found out that the lifetime warranty that Coulter Systems promised on the work done was a transferrable warranty. This sounded fantastic. I called a few times and messages to have someone take a look at it but never heard anything. I found an email for them and on 6/5/18 had emailed them requesting help and, since we were not the owners of the house when work was done, had included scans of the contract with the warranty referenced. We did finally then hear back and they agreed to have someone take a look at it. The guy came, he looked, and said that it wouldn't be a problem to clear up. Great! He also said that they're a small company and this is the busy season for them. Little did I know, this was a line we would be hearing each time we talked. But he assured us that once the busy season was over, they would get a hold of us to set something up. Fast forward to early/mid Fall and we still haven't heard back. I called, left a vm, and emailed again. Didn't get a response. Keep in mind that throughout this, our French drain has continued to back up on occasion, causing water and silt to cover our floor. I tried numerous times to get in contact until I finally got a reply via email on 4/2/19, saying someone will call me to set something up. To my surprise, they actually did call me. They said that since it's been so long since they evaluated the issue (reminder: it's been close to a year since this whole thing started), they would need to do so again. Fine. So we set up an appointment for the following Wednesday. The guy comes out (I was at work, but my fiancée was home), checks it, again says that it shouldn't be an issue to fix the problem. He said that someone will call us to set up an appointment for "next week". My fiancée is a teacher and the week that he was referencing was spring break for her school, so she would be home. This sounded like perfect timing. I admit, I was actually getting hopeful that they would be able to finally get this issue fixed. Surprise! They never called. My fiancée and I each called and left voicemails. I emailed again. Spring break came and went and still no word. We are still waiting on getting this set up. Like I said before, whenever I did talk with them, they would say that it's a busy season for them and they are a small company. I get that. I've worked with small family owned businesses and I love supporting them. But this is ridiculous. It's been a year of left messages and unanswered emails, and I've gotten a reply twice. Four times, if you consider an email saying that someone will call, and the call itself separate. read more
