Had the sirloin, fries, and broccoli. The fries and broccoli were edible as I was very hungry but definitely tasted like frozen food that I could make in 5 minutes. The sirloin was pretty good but a little dry and pretty middle of the road. The service was pretty quick and my server was very sweet so that bumps up the score. Excellent southern comfort food. They have 2 of my favorite salads. The strawberry pecan and the cobb. Both are highly recommended. The grilled pork chops are a personal fav. The only issue I have is the portion size of the sides. You get equivalent of a single ice cream scoop and not a large one. They have several good deserts. Carrot cake and butter cake are my joy. Jessica is an ast. manager and server. She is a highlight for us. She is always personalble and gives you a welcome home feeling. read more

Considering the write-up this place got, we were sadly disappointed. The service was indifferent. In other words, the server only responded when asked something and really didn't care if we were served or not. Worse, the food was GREASY! We both got a brisket item (taco for me, quesadilla for the wife), and when you picked them up, the grease almost poured off of them! Not worth the time or money. This used to be one of the best restaurants in Nacogdoches but that's no longer true. I've been three times in the past six months or so, but probably won't go back. Yesterday, I ordered the strawberry pecan salad, and the chicken was definitely cooked long before it was served. It was room temp and dry. Another person in my group had the chicken fried steak, and it was overdone and barely edible. Our previous two visits were similarly disappointing. It's just not worth the money. read more

Alrighty, this Cotton Patch from the outside looks like a older version, which is fine. When you walk in, there are decorations and music. We walked in and the hostess/ I think manager sat us. She was very sweet and nice. Then came the server, at first he seemed very nice. Once he got our drink orders, he came and got our food orders. Here is when things get rough, first of all, every Cotton patch we've ever been to has let us get a salad and then a side salad, this Cotton patch didn't. Then, when we ordered, my dad asked for a salad and then a side salad, the server said we can't do that and my dad got mad. So, the server just walked off. The thing that gets me is, WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU GO BACK TO THE KITCHEN AND START TALKING ABOUT YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS TO OTHER SERVERS. LIKE WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU? DO YOU THINK PEOPLE CANT READ LIPS? Once we got our food, the server asked if everything looked good and we said yes, so he walked off. He didn't come back till 15 mins later, he wouldn't even look at our table to offer us any water or anything. When he came back he asked if we wanted more water and we said yes, HE BROUGHT BACK ONE WATER WHEN TWO CUPS WERE EMPTY. This was one of the worst Cotton patches ever. But although good food. Husband got the fried fish basket - perfectly flakey and moist fish. He thought he ordered the plate but got the basket which is only one side, which he didn't mind but wish he clarified first. You know what stole the show? Their cornbread. I don't know what voodoo they put in their cornbread, but it is so moist, sweet with a crispy outside. Pass on those yeast rolls and just go for the cornbread, you'll thank me later! The restaurant was clean and didn't have any weird smells. This is an older Cotton Patch Cafe in much need of updating! Word is, the place will be demolished and rebuilt in 2019.......! My wife and I ate there after early voting in late October. The place was quite empty and likely because of the time of day being mid-afternoon. I ordered the "famous" Chicken Fried Steak with jalapeño gravy, with the gravy being the best part of my meal! The CFS was overcooked and I had to cut through the large amount of batter to get to the overcooked steak about 3/4" inside! Not good! The wife ordered a steak, baked potato, and a salad. The sirloin was thin and overcooked, her baked potato was cold, but her salad was excellent! The rolls and butter were great! Our Waiter was quite attentive to our table and always kept our drinks topped off. We will likely not return to this location until some of these issues are addressed.. read more

I ordered a "deconstructed" patty MELT. I even explained that I wanted it prepared, just separate from the bread. When it was served, it was literally a patty, 2 slices of cold white cheese next to it on the plate and a dish of grilled onions! Where was the MELT to this patty melt??? Ordered new Sunday special of Beef Tips over mashed potatoes. For 3 specials (no drinks or anything else), the cost was $42. They need to change the name to "2 helpings of mashed potatoes with gravy". The amount of "beef" was very negligible. Each portion had one mushroom. I am not exaggerating when I say that I had one hunk of beef the size of a sugar cube and a few chippings. For $13 a portion! Unbelievable. I understand the economy stinks and gas is at an all time high. But my money is also tight! And $13 for mashed potatoes with beef gravy is totally unacceptable! read more

Worst place ever. Waitstaff yet looking very busy, saw nothing getting done. People sat down after us and got food before us. After 15 minutes waiting after ordering, we were informed that they were out of baked potatoes at 6:30pm? Replaced with mash potatoes the food was brought out luke warm and NO POTATOES AT ALL. A piece of meat and a small bowl of green beans. Had to send my salad back due to a special request that they could not even get right. Cotton Patch is a good place for some "home cooking." This is a place where chicken friend steak is probably one of there highest selling dishes. I really enjoy Cotton Patch because they have a very diverse menu from quesidillas, sandwiches, burgers, and some awesome desserts. The pie they have is a must with a large scoop of ice cream. The sides have a large choice of things you would have from home. I would have to advise you not to go late at night, they tend to use old dinner salads and hard rolls. read more
