I love one girl here named Becca, however most of the girls can't make drinks right, they don't measure things out, there drinks are outrageously priced, I get a mango Red Bull and it's 6.25 for just a mango Red Bull. I had a girl who doesn't measure at all just start pouring the mango to the point I had to ask her to dump a little out, and today had to tell her to put the mango only to the second line on the cup. And when I go there for them to fix a drink they won't accept remakes. Personally I think it's messed up. What happened to the customer is always right? If you mess up on a drink it's YOUR responsibility to make it right. read more

I've gone to a LOT of different espresso stands across the state of Washington and have multiple baristas in my family. But I have never been to a business like Cottage Espresso. I live down the street and over the last few months, something has gone haywire there. First, their prices are absolutely outrageous and way more expensive than even Starbucks, by dollars; not cents. They constantly close early, open late, and several times they haven't opened at all with no notice to their customers; and we're not talking about holidays. None of their drinks are consistent because they don't measure anything and each barista makes their own version or how they like each drink. If you don't like how it's made, too bad. They will not stand behind their products and no matter how off the mark a drink is, they will NOT remake it correctly, so you're just out the $8-$10. They also nickel & dime you to death. 30 cents for whip cream, charging for anything they can, on top of the ridiculous price they already charge. As far as the baristas go, they used to be super friendly and took the time to learn regular customers drinks and/or names. With the exception of one barista, none of them really seem to care and the last time I was there, I was treated as if I (a paying customer) was a complete nuisance to the barista working, as I was apparently interrupting both her being on her phone and putting things away. She was rude, didn't even greet me, and without realizing that she left the window partially open, started talking bad about customers to whoever she was on the phone with. And she's the manager! I'll never go there again! I'm perfectly content taking my business just about anywhere else that actually cares about what they're doing, puts the customers first, and stands behind their products in an orderly and consistent way. They need to learn that if you order a drink from their stand, it should taste the same no matter who makes it. It's called measuring, basic recipes, and training! read more

This business has has totally changed from what it use to be. I was a regular and stopped going when rude workers turned into the norm. It had been a couple years and then I started slowing going back since it's on my way to work. Not hard to notice that when I did stopped in that I got charged a different price every time for the exact same drink. Despite that I continued to stop in when I noticed no cars or one car in line. I stopped in today for the last time. I asked the gal for a chai latte. I noticed her mixing it and asked if they only had powder and not the liquid chai. She said only the powder. So I was like fine paid $6 and left. I should have tasted it before I left. My chai latte had coffee in it. I called to ask her about how she made it and she was full of attitude so I asked when someone else would be in that I can speak with and she told me to call back the next day. She continues to tell me that's how the drink is made. So I respond with I just stopped on Yakima Ave yesterday ordered a chai latte and got Oregon Chai with milk (chai latte) for $3.50. She said I need to be more specific when I order and I can call tomorrow and talk to the manager and I can talk to the owner and they will all tell me the same thing. So if I order there again she wants me to order a Chai Tea Latte with no coffee shots? She works at a coffee stand "chai" is the Hindi work for "tea". So she wants me to order a tea tea latte? After repeating herself over and over apparently trying to educate me on chai latte I had enough of her brazen attitude and told her I'd just get my chai latte somewhere else from now on. She said fine. It's too bad that a locally owned business has this many negative reviews. Most mention rude workers, refusing to remake drinks, I get price increases, but this business is completely different from from what it use to be when the previous owner had it and far from when the current owner first started. I LOVE this establishment. It's up the road from us and our usual Sunday spot. The girls here are sweet, talkative and are always smiling. I tend to forget about my punch card and they always remind me. The only dwownfall is the charge to use a card. My usual is the white chocolate Americano topped off with cream, they always make it the right way with great shots, the white chocolate is always disolved and perfect amount of ice. read more

Having just moved to the area, I instantly looked for my go to coffee stand. I have definitely found it here! The baristas are all wonderful! The coffee is great, and fairly priced. They are always quick and have you on your way in no time, with out making you feel rushed. The only down side I have found it that it can be difficult to pull in if there are more than two cars there. But with service that good, I can pull into a side street and wait a second. Overall I love it! read more

Used to go here almost everyday. The service and coffee seemed to have changed, extra charge to use my card, prices went up and no apology for my coffee being made completely wrong. The owner is not the nicest either. Will be going to a different coffee stand from now on. read more

I've been going here for years even through the owner/management changes. They have always had excellent service and good drinks. Today not so good. Barista had no idea what a raspberry lemonade granita was and had to ask. I would have been ok with that if she had not rolled her eyes at me. The drink itself had no flavor and it was $7.20 for 2 32oz drinks. I was then informed that they didn't punch cards for teas or lemonades. I was there last week and it was $5.00 for 2 drinks and my card was punched at that time. This will be the last time. read more
