I live down the street and over the last few months, something has gone haywire there. First, their prices are absolutely outrageous and way more expensive than even Starbucks, by dollars; not cents. They constantly close early, open late, and several times they haven't opened at all with no notice to their customers; and we're not talking about holidays. None of their drinks are consistent because they don't measure anything and each barista makes their own version or how they like each drink. If you don't like how it's made, too bad. They will not stand behind their products and no matter how off the mark a drink is, they will NOT remake it correctly, so you're just out the $8-$10. They also nickel & dime you to death. 30 cents for whip cream, charging for anything they can, on top of the ridiculous price they already charge. As far as the baristas go, they used to be super friendly and took the time to learn regular customers drinks and/or names. With the exception of one barista, none of them really seem to care and the last time I was there, I was treated as if I (a paying customer) was a complete nuisance to the barista working, as I was apparently interrupting both her being on her phone and putting things away. She was rude, didn't even greet me, and without realizing that she left the window partially open, started talking bad about customers to whoever she was on the phone with. And she's the manager! I'll never go there again! I'm perfectly content taking my business just about anywhere else that actually cares about what they're doing, puts the customers first, and stands behind their products in an orderly and consistent way. They need to learn that if you order a drink from their stand, it should taste the same no matter who makes it. It's called measuring, basic recipes, and training!

Ahtanum Bakery is adjacent to their berry patch in Yakima. Because of the climate, they harvest strawberries, blueberries, huckleberries and Marion berries right through the fall. They have a a u-pick field or you can buy the berries already picked. Every year they participate in the Hood River Valley Harvest festival in October. People remember them and line up for the massive cinnamon rolls, hand pies, scones, pies, decorated sugar cookies and other delectables. Oh, and fresh berries! Prices are a bit high, but the quality is definitely there. These are not mass produced, but made in small batches with fresh ingredients and love.

We were looking for a Christmas tree and as fate would have it trees were available here! Just outside the fruitstand, in the winter time, sets a myriad of potential Christmas trees just hoping for the right person to come along and take them home and bring Yuletide joy to their house! They had a pretty good selection of trees here with sizes from around 4 feet all the way up to 10-12 feet. The prices were solid with six and 7 foot trees right around $40-$50. You pick the tree, they cut off a small piece on the base so you can put it in water when you get home and help you tie it to the top of your car if needed. The gentleman helping us, Ramiro, was very nice and made the whole process very easy. We'll be back for fruit in the spring!
