Suddenly it's almost time to start thinking about spring cleanup…read more The winter seemed endless. This year was more brutal than last. The older I get, the more debris seems to pile up all over my property and lawn. Branches... leaves... acorns.... When the snow melts, it's like pulling the curtain back from a landfill! And then there's all the nasty road salt and sand accumulation on my lawn along the edge of the road. This stuff is nasty and does a number on grass. Finally, there's all the dead perennials and flower beds that look like a tsunami hit... Time to call Dan Jesseman at Jesseman Landscaping! I mean...I like gardening... but I hate cleanup! The older I get, the more I hate it! On the other hand, I got a 2 day vacation when I called Dan Jesseman to do my spring cleanup last year! I mean this is normally a 2-day job minimum. Not only did I free up an entire weekend to do whatever I want, but also Dan's team does a much better job than I do! Plus, they do mulching and other stuff I'm just not equipped to handle. Some friends of mine prefer to do everything themselves mostly to save money. I can completely understand that philosophy. But time is money, my friends. I'll never get time back. Have Dan do your spring cleanup this year...and take the weekend off! You can thank me later. I like to get recommendations from friends & family when I am looking for something new where I have little experience. My wife and I actively seek out online feedback from previous customers whenever possible. Previous customers are the most accurate measure of satisfaction possible, in my opinion. I get no compensation from this recommendation. Here's a link to a blog post about Jesseman Landscaping: http://www.empowernetwork.com/drmurray/?p=2792

Eric came to our house and helped evaluate what the problem might be. He recommended some masonry work be done to seal missing grout between the stones, and then a test to see how well that solution fared. The mason he brought in was absolutely fantastic and worked diligently to fill the gaps. We did a test on half of the waterfall and still lost water from the pool, so the mason came back and did the other side. We couldn't test that half because it was time to close the pool and the water level had to be dropped until spring of 2023. We will test again in the spring. Eric Brand was upfront about pricing. We are going through the repair(s) step by step to eliminate doing too much work too quickly on the waterfall. The last time we had the waterfall repaired, we spent a lot of money for a Hollis landscaper who fibbed (he really hadn't had his crew install a waterfall), he did find a kid to tear out the waterfall, but no one knew how to put it back together again! -- thousands of dollars later. No more work with that landscaper. Eventually we found a real mason who could reassemble it, and for a reasonable price. Eric's mason's name is Phil and he is a conscientious worker, staying later if the job requires it, and he works straight through while on the job -- no cell phone calls, no time wasted -- and he is very impressive (clean cut, friendly and professional). Eric Brand of P&L, too, is very impressive. He is a focused businessperson who doesn't mess around. He stays on top of a project until it's finished, from initial problem evaluation to finish...well, this project isn't quite finished yet because of our pool being closed, but I am confident he will be right back on top of the situation when spring arrives.
