When I first arrived in town, I noticed there was no local Sam's Club, nor was there a BJ's Wholesale Club. When I lived in Florida, several people told me about Costco, but I never even visited. Here, I decided to try it. When I first walked into the store to go to the Membership Desk, it was already a circus. I asked about a walkthrough and got "We don't do that any more." I reluctantly bought the membership and after one year, did not renew. It must have been a mutual agreement because they were sending notices to former tenants at my address, but not to me. 11 years later, I went with some neighbors. The store is better. It's not nearly as chaotic. The neighbors know most everyone working at the store from the store manager to the people demonstrating the food. It's not awful and it's not great, either. The store has a more diverse selection of foods. However, they seem to take away items randomly. The electronics seem as mediocre as they used to be. The self-checkouts are back. Prices are as high as expected to support returns AND to support good pay for workers. I'm glad for all who enjoy it. read more

This location I like better than a few of the others sometimes as it's seemingly less crowded, it probably isn't bigger but feels that way because of that. Quick tip, if you're doing an event with your kid at Great Wolf Lodge for the night, or even a day pass deal, you can grab stuff from the food court here and bring it on over inside the Great Wolf Lodge to feed the group of kids. You can also enter here from the side entrance near Great Wolf for faster access in & out. Gas is a tad cheaper here too. Only thing that isn't ideal when it is busy is how the food court lines back up into self checkout, causing some crowds in areas you don't want them probably. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this Costco. The customer service is great and it's easy to find someone when you need help. There are things that are constantly changing with their selection of items but there are also things you can sheets count on being there. So there is an element of adventure whenever you go. What new thing will I discover??? They are pretty consistently the best values for the buck and you still have a hard time finding something cheaper elsewhere. Did that mean they're the cheapest place in town? No. But what they have for sell will most likely be the interest prices you're going to find. They tend to go with quality items rather than finding the cheapest option available. read more

Went yesterday..yes a Friday around n 12:30 ...and I know it was gonna be busy and parking lot crowded ..etc... Everything was well stocked and plenty of shopping carts etc But I noticed a very sour smell on the backside of store where drinks frozen and snacks are and I could not figure out where it was coming from and then I smelled another odd smell towards pharmacy and I look above the aisles .. And I believe there were pallets of some type of big huge boxes of produce I believe ..above in the rafters/shelving ..I found that odd ..but I guess when you need space ..gotta do what you got to do for merchandising purposes..but I'll always shop here ..live the convenience. read more

How can a Costco have anything less than a five star rating? That's crazy guys because Costco simply has the best products at the best prices all the time everywhere they operate. On top of that I've never met a Costco associate anywhere and that wasn't anything but friendly, attentive, professional, and helpful. The store was no different. We popped in during our visit to the great Wolf Lodge for a few snacks and then hit the gas station on the way out of town because Costco gas is always the best price too! The station attendant made sure that the lines were moving swiftly and that the station stayed clean. The pumps were easily accessible and stretched right across to the other side of the car to reach the gas cap. Surprisingly the gas station had a little to no line anywhere which made it even sweeter to just swing right in and fill up and get back on the road. Parking lots were super spacious and cart free. This made it easy to get in and out of the area. All in all the exact experience I expect when I come to Costco. I'm just thankful that they're right next-door to this attraction because much rather eat stuff from the Costco food court than anything. They have to serve there! read more

I have a property here in the area and I am short-term stay and Costco has always been a company that I trusted for the last three or five years with memberships going back to my grandparents But this particular store has constantly costed me and harassed me and other black people in my face and constantly every single time it's a huge issue that has nothing to do with me The cashier Carol at 12:45 at the store 1031 in Manteca harassed me about upgrading my membership and the photo not appearing right away when I checked out and I actually upgraded it to executive because the last time I came to Picasso the employees costed me and harassed me before so I felt I should upgrade my membership to feel more safe at a company like a trust from their employees She literally called security on me before she even gave me the opportunity to check and find the physical card that they delivery enemy 25 minutes ago. She called a supervisor in security and she advised me that she needs to see a digital membership, but it has to have a photo in it, which has nothing to do with me because I'm not responsible for how the software updates the pictures and I had a beautiful experience with the lady who took the picture and then this happens I pay to be a member at Costco. I pay to have a great experience versus a normal experience and I pay to go into a store. I can trust these people specifically at this store 1031 arrest and cost me every single time. I just am a customer and a highly paying customer that these employees have a bias at the very least and a racial ideology of who people who look like we are and the fact that I always get treated like a scammer or somebody who's scamming money because my life doesn't look like there's at this point it's enough I have had experiences like this before, but they do not continuously happen every single time I want to buy food to eat unfortunately for me I cannot continue with how Costco's employees seem to have been overseen or have no primary in which they can just harass anybody they were unfortunately they're not enough. This afternoon, I was in the optometry section of Costco in Manteca, California. We really like this Costco overall. The service is exceptional. The people are very friendly. We especially appreciate Jesse in the eyeglass section. He was very professional, kind, and helpful. The bonus was he fixed my glasses! I used to purchase very expensive glasses. Great prices, the store is always clean and neat and the staff generally are friendly and helpful. Also it's impossible to get a better deal than a hot dog and coke for $1.50 - if only I could get a deal half as good at a pro baseball park! Now you can't find everything but as for grocery shopping - I'm buying about 80% of my groceries there and 20% at Trader Joe's ( which has some of the best deals on unique items) - and occasionally a item or two at Walmart. I haven't shopped in a big chain grocery store in the last three years - of course you have to buy in bulk - but best prices for main stream groceries in these inflationary times. read more

Please put a signage in the Return Department where the line is for returns. There was a lady staff who was rude and sounded mean as if we were going to cut off the only one customer in line. While visiting Manteca we came to Costco to pick up a few things and I liked how they had things my local Costco does not have. My reason for the one review may sound petty, but I was getting shocked the entire time I was pushing my cart around the store!!! It got to the point where I almost gave shopping because it was a consistent shock and sometimes it was pretty hard and loud shock... I finally had enough and asked my son to push the cart to see if it was just me or what. All of a sudden another couple said YOU TOO!! They said they too were getting shocked and we're taking turns because it to was soooo annoying... we took comfort knowing we weren't the only ones this was happening too. I'm not sure why this would happen but I know if it was my local Costco I may travel to another town to avoid being shocked while o shopped. read more

Tire assistance sucked!! My tire on my Jeep Wrangler was fat. I asked for assistance and a middle aged guy ( not a man ) handed me the air hose for me to fill my tire.. then told me I should probably replace my tires (wanted me to buy new tires) At that point my valve stem started leaking air. I asked him if they could change out my tire sense I had one on the back of my jeep? He said NO because I had a lift on my jeep??? WHAT? What a shit show . The staff here are friendly! I bought a laptop and Joey was very knowledgeable and helpful. Then there were no lines at all (I realize this was a unique happening!) When I went to pick up the laptop after paying for it, actually had to bring down a pallet to get it. A manager named Alex got me one of their coffee mochas while I was waiting... great customer service! He knew what to do to make me not bummed about having to wait for quite a bit! The store is clean and always has what I need (except for during the whole TP shortage!) I find that if you smile and talk to the staff, they smile back and appreciate friendly customers! After he got the laptop from the employer on the forklift, he actually ran it up to me! Great customer service Alex! You get the 5 stars! read more
