This is my first time ever stepping in Costco. All my friends and family raves about this place and I wanted to see what the hype is all about. I finally broke down and got the executive membership Vs. regular membership since I will be investing in booking travel and purchasing tires in the near future. This is the closest location from our home. Wow! This place stays busy and I see why. They are similar to Sam's Club but better. They have more items to choose from. I've compared pricing from Sam's and they are cheaper. They have everything you can think of. Pharmacy, optical, appliances, furniture, produce, meat, clothes, snacks, plants, food court and more. I wished that I could've joined earlier, I would have saved more money. Well I'm happy to say that my fiancée and I are now proud members. read more

We are fairly recent members of Costco and I'm loving it so far. The store has been incredibly busy both times we have gone. But we expected this, so we were able to allow time to not rush. Some favorites so far include their fresh produce options, chicken breasts, string cheese, and the clothes! It definitely requires some planning and storage, but you can definitely save money. read more

I'd never been to a Costco before, but so many of my friends rave about it, so my fiancée and I found a really good deal on a new membership and decided to go. I've heard it compared to Sam's Club but much better. Overall, after finally getting to experience one, I'd have to agree. I'd list what all they have to offer, but it'd be easier to list what they DON'T offer. You can even buy your next vacation there and on their website. And from what I've heard, each location has certain offerings different from others, such as unique small batch bourbon available at their Florence, KY location (and yes, I've tried some, and it's excellent). I have been a member since the 1980s when they were Price Club. About a year ago I purchased pods for laundry. They were on sale so I purchased two. Unfortunately I broke out in a rash. Not only did they take the unopened container, which I expected, but also the one I had opened. This month premier protein shakes were on sale so I purchased several boxes of my favorite and decided to try another flavor. I drank one and hated it. They happily took them back. I had left my phone in the car which I ended up needing for the order number. I offered to go get it but the employee helping offered to look it up for me. Great, great customer service every single time I go in. No matter what you need they are there to help. On another note, the new parking lot structure is awful. Hard to get in and hard to get out. read more

I love Costco, but feel a review of one of their products is warranted since the quality has diminished greatly. The Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken Noodle Soup used to be about $3.50/lb but now it's more like $4.50/lb. Additionally, there is much less chicken in the soup now (2026). It used to contain many 1-2" chunks of their delicious rotisserie chicken. Now there is a sparse spattering of tiny pieces of chicken and much of it includes gristle. On top of all that, the packaging, which is designed to have a lid lock that you have to peel off, does not work and you can open the container easily without removing any cellophane or unlocking anything. I find that a major safety issue. read more

Who doesn't love Costco!? This Costco location is about 25 to 30 minutes away from where we live... I wish there was a closer one around Eastgate but it is what it is. Anyways, Items are well stocked and the free samples are great! My only complaint about this location is getting to the checkout lines that aren't self check out. It is VERY difficult, when its busy, to get to a cashier line because there is a wall of products in the way. read more

Produce and meat are top notch. Great wine selections(thanks Kevin from the sharks) and saving us lots on large purchases. Coffee beans, cereal, laundry, paper goods. But their ancillary quasi medical are a real bargain. I need hearing instruments and have purchased two for myself and a set for my father. The follow up has been patient and phenomenal. This review is not for the store itself, but for the Costco warehouse phone app. I'm very irritated, as the Costco warehouse phone application is no longer compatible with my 8 year old Android smartphone. I tried looking for the same warehouse deals online from what I knew for certain was listed on the warehouse phone app, and these deal do not appear online. This is quite frustrating, as I now would have to buy a new phone just to get access to the Costco warehouse app (which I will not do). Please fix this asap, as browsing the deals on the phone app are the only thing that drew me into your store since I do not live close to it. read more

Brand new Costco location. All items are well stocked. Great place to fill the tank in your vehicle of choice. Gasoline attendants were super helpful and friendly. Staff member welcoming customers was friendly. Nice wide aisles to get carts through. So glad a Costco opened in this area! read more

Costco is no longer carrying coffee grinders. After inquiring about this, I was told they require too much maintenance and they would not be supplying this benefit anymore. This is a case of poor customer service. It seems Costco is slipping in its attention to customers. It's easy to get rid of things that are difficult but those are also the things that set one company apart from others. Costco is taking the easy path. You will loose customers. read more

This is a comparison between Sam's Club and this specific Costco. I'm not crazy about this Costco location. But first, let's talk about gas. The gas always costs more at the Mason location than the Florence one. I understand that gas is more expensive in Mason I guess because it's Mason. However, since I live between the two locations, I'll usually just go to the Florence one. Just recently the gas was $2.80 per gallon in Mason and $2.58 in Florence. Fact one to consider, gas will likely always be cheaper in Florence. Now to the Sam's Club comparison. I like that Sam's club generally does not have anyone standing at the door anymore. I like that you can pay as you go, using the app to prevent getting stuck in a ridiculously long line when time to check out. Costco has nothing to compare on their app. The food product options are fairly similar between the two. Where Costco gets Sam's for me is the clothing and household items. The clothing brands at Costco are far superior to those at Sam's, with names like Eddie Bauer, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, etc. Because I'm not looking to feed a family of 5 at the moment, the clothing and accessories matter far more than the food for me. read more

Today was our first day at Costco. Everything was mostly fine, until we decided to get the full experience and order some hot food. We ordered 1 hot dog, 5 drinks, and 1 large pizza. After our order was surpassed by 50 other orders and waiting 30 minutes (yes you read that right), we talked to the person at the counter. They assured us it would only be a couple more minutes, and that a couple more orders were in front of us. 10 minutes later, we finally got our order, after waiting a total of 41 minutes. The burnt crust pizza, was not worth it, the drink machine was tapped out and spitting out mostly carbonated water. Our disappointing end to our Costco trip has made us rethink our membership with such poor service. read more

It was my first time I've come to this particular Costco store. I went there and asked an employee, whose name was Quinn to help me find sunblock curtains. Unfortunately, I needed curtains that were 94" which they didn't stock. Later, I was in the Electronics department. I run into Quinn again and he gives me a all you want to know about televisions, but were afraid to ask. While I only live a mile away from their new store in Liberty Township, I would go these extra miles to deal with Quinn. Sadly, the company doesn't give commissions to their employees. By the way, Quinn was very positive on Costco. Try finding that at Kroger or Walmart. Costco never disappoints! It's harder and harder to find good deals. read more

They offer many of the same benefits (free rotation, balancing, pressure checks) as the place whose name rhymes with "Tire Discounters" at a fraction of the price. I shopped here today (a weekday) in the early afternoon, and it wasn't overcrowded. Yay! Shoppers could keep their distance, and the checkout lines weren't long. They have their Christmas trees, decorations, and toys out. Got a nice set of toys for our granddaughter. Love to peruse their wines, and picked up a Spanish white blend and a California Pinot. We're never disappointed with their wines. We also like getting scallops and shrimp here. Always fresh and delicious! Of course, their steaks are also a good price and delicious too! With COVID, paper towels are not always stocked, but that's understandable. Another product we always buy here are the nuts. Love the Kirkland brand whole unsalted cashews!! We always end up with a few extra things in our cart here :o) read more

Costco is a fun place to shop. You never know what they have deals on. I have gotten great Mother's Day flowers from them. I also got great prices on Hanging baskets with flowers, mums and of course their $4.99 chicken. Be warned if you see it and wait they might be gone. They sell out of items quickly especially the special buys and landscaping items. The monthly deals are pretty good. Make sure you compare their large quantity price with other sale prices. Can't beat their hot dog and drink deal around $2). They have great customer service. Will take anything back for any reason. Gas is lower than others when its going up elsewhere. There have been times when the price was similar to what I could pay elsewhere. They open at 10AM. I wish they opened earlier on weekdays. Only takes Visa. read more

Consistent merchandise makes planning Costco bulk purchases vs. grocery store purchases a breeze. Also, there's always something fun and new to find each time I visit. Despite high volumes of customers, the store is easy to navigate and other customers are courteous. The gas prices are awesome, especially if you have to use premium! I blame Ohio (not Costco) and thus no stars lost, but it's a shame this location only sells beer, wine, and low alcohol content other selections. Costco is known for quality and savings. A place where that is prevalent is the gas station. Gas is usually cheaper than most gas stations, while still maintaing high standards. Costco only sells top tier gas. Bakery, meat department and deli items are high quality as well. Their cakes are one of our go-to's for large parties. Even when we have 20 people we seem to have leftovers. They are also inexpensive. Deli has premade items for parties, and items to be reheated for meals at home. Costco is very picky about the meat sold in their meat department. Items vary somewhat from warehouse to warehouse. The buyers try to tailer goods to the region. Many items are seasonal. Some fly out of the warehouse quickly. Those that sit for a bit have a tendency to be marked down for tremendous savings. It always feels like I am on a bit of a scavenger hunt. The Kirkland items are made by national brands. One department that has had a major overhaul in the last few years is the Food Court. Once upon a time, the food court was a place to stop for a hotdog, pizza, frozen yogurt or churo when shopping took too long, and pushing those larger carts around made one hungry. (And one had not filled up on samples.) Sandwiches, salad, frozen drinks, even the chicken bake has been added. The frozen yogurt has evolved. Now acai swirl or bowls are available. Food here is still a fantastic deal. Higher quality than fast food, for about the same price. Pro tip. You can call in an order for a whole pizza. If you do this towards the end of your shopping, the pizza may be paid for at the regular registers. Just let the cashier know which pizza and how many ordered. Take your receipt to the side of the food court counter. Costco does not want you to wait in line again. Also, you may order a combo pizza with no meat for a veggie pizza. Though when paying at the non food court registers just say combo. There is not a code for veggie. read more

Huge fan of Costco. The more adulating I do, the more I realize buying in bulk is really the way to do it. If you are a treasure hunter and love looking for a good sale, I guarantee if you come back often enough, you'll find a stellar deal on a clearance item, as they don't keep their seasonal items on their shelves very long. Looking for something healthy? Costco has a lot of organic and "good for you" type foods (compared to SAMS - the other buy-in-bulk store). There is a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Need a cake for a birthday party or family get together? Surprisingly, Costco cakes are delicious. They are large enough to feed a crowd, are inexpensive, and taste good. You can have it decorated to your pleasing and even have it a personal note written on it. Know that if you go on a weekend, the lines will be long, and it will be crowded. The employees do their best to move people through the lines quickly -- but it's like everyone has discovered Costco is the place to shop. The best night to go without a crowd? Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Stick to a weeknight if you want to get in and out without having a head on collision with another cart. SAMPLES? Yep, they have them. The holy grail of shopping ! This place is somewhat organized chaos. It's hard NOT to have a membership here when it's so close to my work and gas prices are reasonable! They have food available for lunch time and it's popular 7 days a week! Pizza, smoothies, salad and more! Did I mention it's cheap too? Items can be seasonal so if you like that coat, boots or lawn chair, you better get it because it's not going to be there next time you come by. This is probably one of the most busiest locations I have ever been too and to mention Senior Citizen hangout. Parking lot can be crazy to find a spot and trying to leave work with slow moving cars pulling out from Costco is a near disaster on a weekly basis. read more

I'm not sure why but I love going to Costco but I get excited every time we go. They really have a great selection of wine which ranges from $8 a bottle to $100. If you need beer for a gathering then I think their prices are great and I love the variety packs you can get. I think the meat department is one of the best. We have never gotten a streak there that wasn't great. They have choice and prime with outstanding prices for the grade of meat. Its great to just go there to walk around and try samples and see what types of deals they have going on or something surprising you may want. The other day I bought a sweater and its so cute! People think I got it at a store at the mall and are surprised to hear its from Costco! read more

My New Years Yelp Resolution is to update past reviews and I just have to say this Costco is as good as it ever was. It is always clean and organized. The staff here is so awesome. Recently I was trying on a jacket, and as they dont have mirrors, a staff member offered to take a picture with my cell phone so I could see how it fit. Returns are super easy, even items you have ordered online to return to store. Each time I come in here, even if its week to week, there is some new cool item. If you like something, buy it up, because it might not be there the next time you go. Items arent always restocked, some are limited time. There are so many items I could recommend from the broaster chicken, to muffins. Most items are truly cheaper here than at a grocery store or target. It can be deceiving because for instance Costco's large Tide laundry detergent does more loads (or oz) than the largest size youd find at target... so it is a better deal. Did I mention the awesome gas prices? And its top tier gas which most newer vehicles require. I could go on and on, but I can say with confidence there really is nothing to dislike about Costco. Well worth the membership... which btw make sure to get the Executive Membership as you earn a percentage back of your purchases at the end of the year. If your cash back is less than the extra price you paid for executive, they will refund the difference! read more

We have bought glasses here before and were very pleased. However, this time my wife picked up her glasses and the bifocal line is in the wrong spot. She contacted our eye doctor, who is a MD and he verified that the glasses are incorrect. However the technician at Costco could care less and showed it. We won't be getting glasses here again. Don't go to this Costco if you want what you pay for done correctly. You pay for a membership & you pay for $150 worth of pizza and the pizza place REFUSES to cut it into squares which is the best way for your party to be accommodated. I personally asked two ladies if they can cut our pizza into squares and they straight up said "it's not going to happen, we're too busy on a Saturday." That is not how you treat paying customers & I'm sure the CEO of Costco would fully agree. If you're too busy on a Saturday to accommodate those that pay $100 in Pisa over those that pay $1.99 in a slice of pizza, you're a horribly ran company. You do what a good business does & you ensure an extra staff member to be in the food court to ensure the customers NEEDS, wants & expectations are met. Period, point, blank. You don't look at a paying customer & say "it's not going to happen." I love Costco. Not only do they have a great business model (no more than 15% markup), but a reputation for store cleanliness and treating its employees well. I make my monthly trip to Costco in Mason (30 minute commute, but worth it), and always find good deals and quality items, many of which are Costco's Kirkland brand. I have the Executive membership ($110), which I upgraded from the Gold membership ($55), after realizing I would quickly early earn back an excess of the difference in membership fees with the 2% cash back on the majority of my purchases with the Executive membership. You must have a debit card or check to buy a membership and make purchases - no credit card (I think they accept cash??). BRING YOUR OWN bags or boxes, for heaven's sake (I made the mistake of not bringing any on my 1st trip ever to Costco, not fun). You need to figure out what purchases are cost-efficient and worthwhile for you individually. For instance, our family of three doesn't benefit from buying a lot of the bulk produce, because we can't eat it fast enough before it spoils; however, we thrive on the big boxes of individually wrapped cookies and chips because we pack 90% of our lunches. Keep in mind, Costco isn't your one-stop shop. It's supplemental to your preferred grocer (e.g., they don't carry a varied assortment of each name brand; their organic selection is quite good but their reduced-fat/reduced-calorie options are pretty nonexistent). The items I do love picking up there are as follows: SHEILA G'S BROWNIE BRITTLE (HELLOOOOOO, heaven-in-the-mouth!); Jimmy Dean frozen breakfast sandwiches; eggs; unsalted butter; flour/sugar/pure vanilla extract/bulk Red Star yeast/Tollhouse chocolate chips/Ghirardelli brownie mix; Kirkland bottled waters ($3.79 for a 40-pack!); paper towels; assorted individually-wrapped chips and cookies; 15-20 pound bags of GREAT basmati rice (averages to about $1/pound, when I could easily spend $6-$9 for a 1-pound container at a traditional grocery; Kirkland frozen tilapia filets and shrimp; Baybel cheeses (yummyyyy); big bulk packages of Perdue chicken (the entire meat section is great); Kirkland bacon (4 pounds for $8!). Ahhh I get very excited by Costco. I haven't ventured to any other Costco locations, but I really love the Mason location, I just wish there was a location closer to my house! read more

After my first visit to CostCo, I learned that I have a European mindset of grocery shopping: go once a week, buy only what you need for 7 days. Although I'm an avid coupon clipper and known to stockpile non-perishables, the bulk quantities of goods available at CostCo overwhelmed me. The shopping carts were double wide and deep. Some people were even pushing around pallets of groceries! In contrast to a standard grocery store, CostCo doesn't offer seventeen different kinds of ketchup. You get one giant three-pack of Heinz. There's just not enough shelf space to store jumbo containers of seventeen kinds of ketchup. If you like the original variations of food and goods, you'll like CostCo. I really enjoyed "tasting time," in which there were free sample booths set up at the end of each aisle. The deli section was eye catching too, with shrimp plates, gourmet pasta salads, and other delectable creations. Then I reached the check out. The queue was massive, and long lines of oversized carts didn't help. At the till, I was informed CostCo only takes American Express credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Who only takes American Express? What about Visa? Isn't it "everywhere you want to be?" Well, except CostCo, I guess. CostCo is no man's land for Visa. read more
