I really don't like how the new parking lot is. It feels like it causes more congestion. I had to process a few returns from different receipts and was helped pretty shortly after my arrival. The shelves are always well stocked and I had no issues finding the items I came for. I bought a whole rotisserie chicken and intentionally bought one that was slightly lighter in color. Unfortunately, when I was eating it, I noticed some parts could have been cooked a touch longer, so I thought it best to cook the chicken a bit more. My cashier was friendly and talkative. She continued our conversation even after I finished paying. I give this visit 3 stars, but if it weren't for the chicken issue, I would have rated this 4 stars. read more

went into costco for eggs. just eggs. a simple, responsible errand. walked out $400+ later with the essentials: eggs, obviously, and a completely reasonable bag of salted pistachios...plus an led cryoglow mask (eating up the marketing promise of youthful looking skin, results tbd) and a pair of lole shorts with pockets, because they were both on sale and i respect a good deal. the math is mathing: eggs + pistachios = survival essentials, mask + shorts = "on sale" = financial responsibility. i'm under it's a hypnotic spell. you wander in for eggs and emerge $400+ poorer, clutching bulk snacks and a new personality. shoutout to my partner for the cash back he gets on his credit card, because at this point costco and i are in a long term financial situationship. costco, take my money, but also...respectfully, stop. read more

First time to this Costco location. To my surprise that they have a covered parking lot. This Costco is smaller than many other Costcos that I have been to. This includes the number of parking spot as well. To my surprise, I came here on a weekday at 4 pm on a Friday and it was not as busy as I expected or compared to say if I went to the Richmond or Burnaby location. We managed to find a parking spot really quickly. This Costco has almost everything that you would expect. As mentioned before because it is smaller, there is no sittting area in the Costco hot food area. On top, the Costco food area is located right near the entrance and is seperated from the exit area. This means that if you bought something from Costco, you would need to re-enter the store to grab food. I did find the inside a bit crammed. This include the isles being a bit narrower than the other Costco location. Overall, it was not bad. read more

I generally love going to this store. The fact that you can get things in bulk and in reasonable pricing (generally... not always), is wonderful especially when they have sales. This place can be a zoo sometimes (way too many people and tough getting parking) so just be mindful about that when you're going especially if it's a weekend read more

Costco uses Metro Supply Chain Group as a delivery service provider for furniture in Vancouver. They leave furniture in your lobby considering that delivered. Shame on Costco for selecting such a poor quality partner. read more

Most Costcos are pretty similar and I'd give a random Costco four or five stars, but there's something wrong with the supply chain into this Costco or maybe its cold storage practices. I've gotten things that have been spoiled or moldy from this Costco that aren't even close to the expiration date. For example, I bought "Frico" individual sealed cheese bites from here. Since they're sealed, they had an "best before" date of February 2021, but the Cheese started getting moldy around early September 2020. Having something go moldy four months before its "best before" date extreme. It's not always that bad, but you can't really trust "best before" or expiration dates from items bought here. read more

Excellent service by Jared at the tire centre. He was able to pinpoint the location of the tire air leak (very minute opening in the dented rim area). The repair involved applying some sort of glue to the area to obtain a tighter seal. I will not hesitate to do any more business with them be it their services or products which are some of the greatest deals in town. read more

Today Mar 23 (Saturday) at 11:40am. I had a very bad experience with your customer service assistant (his name is Arlo). When I go into your store, my Costco membership card shows not my face on your scan machine, but my Costco card is my face. I go to the membership and line up. I told Arlo this is my membership card. On the card is my face, but when I scan it shows not show my face. I told him this is not my fault and I need to line up to wait. He didn't apologize to me and he said some bad language to me. He also mentioned how you can fix the problem whether you accept it or not. I'm very dissatisfied about how Costco treats customers. We paid for the annual fees and we got the worst customer service ever. Why do I have to suffer the line up, waiting and bad languages? Without any explanations why the mistake was made. Tire Service would be ok as long as you check to see if they secured your hubcaps properly afterwards. Also, female tire sales clerk is selective about who she's nice to and if you're indigenous it could be iffy! Daughter and I went to this local (to me) 'Costco' recently, for a first-time look at their laptop computer offerings. Her "old faithful" desktop computer had 'passed' recently, and for a replacement, she was seeking my help and assistance with finding and purchasing a new ('Windows-based') laptop. I had spent considerable time online, researching several stores (including Costco), and their products, days before before this venture. We went to three this morning. Costco was our third 'browsing-to-shop' venue that morning. And a touch unexpectedly, it was 'the' most successful stop - in terms of units seen, relative to 'make', 'quality', and 'price point'. Plus, in terms of service, it was where we finally received some knowledgable, un-rushed, helpful, personal attention!! When we left, I knew daughter had received the 'info, and help' needed to take back home to digest, and make her decision of 'what' and 'where' to purchase. This Costco is unlike all the other ones I've ever come across, for several reasons. 1) The building looks like it was converted from a previous business. Looks like a former warehouse with a small office building attached. 2) Parking lot is noticeably smaller. And as David mentioned, it's sloped too. 3) Food stand isn't in the exit area. It's tucked away right by the entrance, before the door people. In fact, the stand can't even be seen from the main shopping area. I love Costco, it will always be my go to store... however this particular location needs some customer service lessons. The store has a very... small and unique layout compared to its sister stores and it makes for a very frustrating experience on its own. ESPECIALLY the parking lot (which maybe holds maybe 50-60 cars tops) and then they have reserve parking behind the building which is a bit of a walk for anyone when carrying heavy boxes. I know, I know... you can use a shopping cart but if you do so in this location (peak hours I wouldn't even bother coming to this location) then it will take you roughly 45 minutes to shop even with a planned and detailed shopping list. The cashiers are usually pretty fast but there is only 7-8 check outs and usually only 3-4 are open so it can take quite some time just to pay. They also don't have too many "sample booths" at this location, so if you're one of those people that specifically come to Costco for a "free lunch" then this isn't the store for you. OH and the "cafe" in this one is the worst in both Canada and America combined in my opinion. They always have attitude and everything usually comes out cold. Ex. One time I got a poutine so I could shop and kill lunch at the same time (cheat day) and she handed it to me ice cold with the cheese in chunks and not melted. When I asked her to use hot gravy she said they can't and she'll just make me another one (which came out the same way), not honestly sure it was even a different poutine to be honest. They don't have a large garden selection in the summer time but they do have the same great selections for healthy food though and they keep the store very clean and organized which I appreciate. Same great deals as any other location but this store lacks variety seasonally, needs a better parking structure and some training. Ps: always huge line ups at the pharmacy so I suggest getting any prescriptions around opening time. read more

Service is not terribly good here. What is it with Costco cashier? My friend forgot his Costco card and the cashier refused to let him pay using my card. So if I give my card to the cashier and he pays for it, it is the same thing? After all, you can bring friends/family members into Costco with you. I do not understand the logic. She insisted on him getting a temporary card and to make the payment at another checkout stand. Then the customer service said his card has been reported lost or something and they could not issue a temporary card to him. The other staff was also flabbergasted at why the cashier refused to ring up his purchase. Finally it was sorted and he paid for it. Then he found his card inside his car and went back to check with the customer service again to make sure, his card was still valid and that they removed the "lost" status on the card. It was all pretty confusing. Other than the cashier incident, the shopping in Costco was as with other stores. There seemed to be a dearth of Caesar salad in Costco. I have only seen it once. Even the food stand has run out of Caesar salad. Go figure. The fries and gravy were still very good though. Kirkland bottled water at 25c at the vending machine was very good pricing too. read more

The worst customer service you will experience. Their manners and the way they address you are unprofessional, unpleasant, and offending. Here is an example. When I went to the self-checkout, the cashier told my family to move there. I came to help and the cashier repeated "moving there". Then I saw a yellow spot hid behind the machine. So I asked the cashier to be clear on her communication. Then the cashier got mad and called for her supervisor. The cashier told her supervisor that she had been telling 3 times. How will people understand what the cashier meant for "moving there"? That cashier just made a scene with her co-workers watching her. On top of that, employees are visibly unhappy and probably caused by the bad management there....... I love shopping here. Its clean, organized, and not to crowded. I understand its mainly for small businesses but I enjoy a few of the items and have gotten used to some of the other services as well, such as new tires. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Staff just wanted to have a reason to give us attitude and a hard time checking out, we were trying to comply to social distancing and cashier kept harassing my mom to stay behind glass when she was trying to pack up her cart at check out then told her she had to pack her own cart up while giving us the stink eye for no reason. Then the people at the concession stand ignored us even tho they served another customer before us so we were confused on if they were closed or not despite the store still being open. Would have been out close to $2K when I return the vehicle to dealership after my lease. Unacceptable service, every employee talks back while they were being rude. You're treated like prisoners. People were being asked if they have membership just to buy fries, with unnecessary remarks from the guard dogs at the entrance. Employees seem to be brainwashed. Bought washer and drier Feb 15, and had washer scheduled to arrive on the 21st, and dryer on March 2ed 2022. February 21st day of the dleivery I get call from delivery people saying they don't have it yet so I lost day of work for nothing trying to accomodate their delivery, than they moved it to 23rd. Come Fenruary 23rd washer arrived, I ordered white glove haull away service, they walk in the house to see where they will delivery unstack my old dryer move my old washer all in the middle of the hallway and go get the washer, they see that box is damaged which can mean that washer is damaged inside which I assume they new since they done it so many times as they attempted to trick me into accepting it without opening the box saying " when dryer comes they (the next crew can unpack it and conect for you" even they are the one who soupposed to be connecting it. Since I asked them to open it and connect it, they didn't even bother to bring it to the house (as they new it is damaged) they open the box right on the delivery truck and confirm for me that is damaged and just left me and my old washer and dryer unstack in the middle of the hallway. Costco so much emphisize on following the Covid rules when delivery comes but these people came in without mask, walked inside the house with their dirty shoes, and left my old dryer and washer in the middle of the hallway. I called Costco customer service, they said they will order re-placment, I asked if they could do it over weekend as I alreayd lost 2 days of work trying to accomodate they, they said earliest they can get it delivered for next Monday Feb 28th. Ok I go to arrange my time again off work, sure enoug here comes email asking me to schedule my delivery, I was confused and I called customer servuce again and asked what have happened and person on the other end try to tell me saying" that previous customer cervice person coud not schedule it and that they need to schedule me now and earliest they can get it is on March 2ed" and there goes another day of my work. I know why they did this they tried to get washer at the same time as the dryer that was coming in on March 2ed, so they don't have to make 2 trips. Meanwhile 15 days later still not here, I have laundry piled up to my ceiling. March 02, couple days before delivery they call me i taught to arrange the delivery tim, no but to tell me that they don't have dryer and excuse was problem an route, and that washer might not arrive either. Sure enough washer arrived no damage this time but dryer didn't. There goes my other day off work. Now they have it scheduled to arrive for March 15th. March 15th, took another day off and waiting... Regardless the outcome on March 15th, I will never, I mean never ever buy appliances from Costco again, or for that matter any of the oversized items yet i need another set for the other house replaced including gazebo and outdoor set! I think they are ok for other things like groceries, but I will never dare to buy another oversized item again (they are welcome to prove me wrong or to make it right) I could of gone to Home Depot and have them both home in one day with my truck! This Costco came in handy when we were staying at the Burnaby Cariboo RV park. We needed water, batteries, and swimsuits. Seriously. That's what we needed, and that's what we got. Costco has cheap hotdogs! Need I say more? :) I love Costco! Especially this location! It gives the illusion that I am gettng a deal by buying bulk when in fact I'm often buying stuff that I never finish using and may end up throwing out. Also, because I'm a smart shopper, I've also noticed that sometimes the price isn't actually cheaper than some of the box stores out there. But all the same, I LOVE COSTCO! This location has a nice undercover parking that a lot of people overlook. They seem to prefer to battle it out trying to get a spot as close to the door as possible. But, as we live in Vancouver, the undercover area is great for loading and unloading kids and groceries. It's a little smaller than some of the other Costcos but, there is still an abundance of goods and books to explore. Also fun to just walk around and try all the samples being offered. But the piece de resistance? It's obvious the hotdog and drink combo. For $1.50, you get a large yummy hotdog that you doctor up yourself with ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers, sauerkraut and chopped onions. There are other offerings such as pizza, sandwiches and fries if you're so inclined. Fun times. :) read more

Out of the two Costco locations in Burnaby, I usually shop here most often. Why? Finding a parking spot on the weekend is actually not too difficult, compared to the Costco on Still Creek Drive in Burnaby, which I do not recommend on the weekend due to extreme difficulties if you're looking for a parking spot. Weekends are usually as busy as weekdays at the other Burnaby location. I am also glad that they added more shopping carts - I had problems of having my shopping cart stolen from other shoppers while shopping because of the lack of available shopping carts. Crazy as it sounds, it was a constant problem at this location! Now, there is no need to eye my cart. This is the first Costco to open in B.C. and it's the first Costco to open in Canada on October 30, 1985, two years after the first Costco ever which opened in Seattle, Washington in September 15, 1983. ***COSTCO STORE #4*** Brighton Ave Costco is the 4th Costco to open in the world after the first three Costco stores that opened in 1983 (Seattle Warehouse), 1984 (Tukwila Warehouse) and 1985 (Kirkland Warehouse) which are all in Washington State. I still remember the days when the only people who were allowed to shop at this location were business owners and a one year membership cost 40 dollars in 1986. I am glad that Costco is open to everyone now. read more

I think the idea that Costco has the BEST return policy out there is a complete myth. Why do people feel the need to spread such untruths? I'm a long-time Costco customer only because they have a great house brand, and I love their chicken wings. I also love the novelty of shopping in the US with my card. The only thing that irks me is if you really ever have to return something, they are complete ASSES about it. Recently I noticed a price drop within 30 days of getting a GPS. I inquired nicely about it only to accused of lacking the integrity that a Costco customer should have since I also inquired about returning my item (FYI their electronics aren't that great, and you can get it cheaper with true after service at London Drugs). I normally don't make these kinds of purchases here, and will never again. They do not stand behind their products or their "amazing" return policy. They even stated to me that you can return something for any reason at any time, but for some reason if you are making a return or even inquiring about it you really are a douchebag for taking advantage of it. Having this location close to my home is great in that my husband and I don't have to do our massive Costco shops with everyone else on the weekends. It's easy enough for us to hop in our car and drive a whole 5 minutes to shop there in the middle of the week after dinner. Good things: Good quality meats for reasonable prices, great prices on items that cost twice as much at smaller shops such as cereal, cheese, canned goods, frozen berries, coffee (Ethical Bean!), magazines and books and a large enough parking lot where you can, if patient enough, get a parking space even on a busy day. Bad things: The lack of local produce, the shoppers who rudely push past you to get food samples (as if they've never eaten before!), the small line up area before the cashiers (where on a busy day, shoppers are forced to line up past the area down the two main aisles of the store), forms of payment are only cash, debit, or American Express (no Visa or Mastercard), and the fact that you end up spending WAY more than you intended to when you first walked into the store ;) Overall, if you shop smartly, you can get a lot shopping from here. read more

My neighbourhood Costco and almost my next door neighbour. Just love that I live near it and that makes it easily accessible. End up getting some real cool deals on seasonal clothes and beverages. Overall, this is one of the nicer Costco's that I frequent. Sometimes the foodcourt, dinner for under $3 is uber appealing (Hot dog IS a food group I tell ya!!) Then there is the evil poutine, *sigh* I've tried many around town, and this still beats even Frenchies. Ok, what about the store? It's your standard Costco actually, so you need to have done your research and know your prices. Sure, when you buy in bulk, things may SEEM like a great deal here, but I still find that 80% of the items can be bought cheaper individually or packed differently for lower at other stores. Needed to book an appointment for my 85 year old mother that has been reluctant to obtain a much needed hearing aid which she has put off for the last 5-8 years, but has now thankfuly realized that her hearing loss has significantly impacted her life & health. Dan's meaningful understanding & empathy of the challenges that patients experience physically & socially with wearing a hearing aid, gave us the assurances that was need to feel confident in putting our my mothers hearing care in their hands. My husband not being able to redeem the annual 2% rebate cheque because he's not the primary member on our 'executive' membership? Give me a break! I've been humiliated once for not being able to pay at the cashier with my hubs card since he was busy doing something else and I hadn't brought my wallet. And there's no actual savings on anything! Price match and you'll get better savings with President's Choice points program! The rebate we get from Costco every year doesn't even cover the cost of membership! There are lots of things to like about Costco: - $1.50 for a Hotdog and drink - $25 Movie night out passes - free food samples - rebates (with the Executive Membership) - awesome return policy There are things to dislike about Costco: - long lineups (they need an express line for people buying a couple items) - silly crowds, especially on weekends - free food samples (it's fine to have your significant other and maybe a kid or two but when I see "families" of 8 chowing down at every booth, I just shake my head) - short hours (closing at 8:30 sucks as does not opening at all on holidays) I generally have a good shopping experience at every Costco I go to. I like the variety of products. They keep it simple. I don't need 50 varieties of whatever. Show me 2 or 3 of the better ones and that's plenty for me. They are not however, the cheapest at everything they sell. I do have a bit of an issue with this as it requires a paid membership to come here. I've been going to this location for 20+ years now and it hasn't changed a whole lot. There does seem to be enough parking and I rarely have trouble finding a buggy to do my shopping. I come here often enough during busy times for it to annoy me. If I avoided the rush, I'd probably give this place an extra star. As an afterthought, I determined that a Costco is the best place to hole up during a zombie apocalypse.
