Some deals are still much better than the others, but...if we planned accordingly there would not be be a need to chase deals. I am still a member of this chain because my wife insists...A happy wife means husband does the Costco shopping ;). If you buy more than a pound or 2 of fruit in the same package you should still check it thoroughly as moldy/mushy fruits are pretty common whether you buy mandarin oranges or lemons. Some aftermarket car items and water and beverages like Gatorade or V8 are decently priced. Still no scan guns for self-check outs though. Entering annoying thing is to check in and to scan your card 7 times till it gets recognized. God forbid Costco invaders will enter with the Costco cards belonging to their relatives and accidentally spend extra few hundred dollars at Costco. Would not want this happening, would you? Latest disappointment was when I and kids decided we would like to grab a hotdog. I do not do this often, but I remember grabbing one with a friend few months ago. What's a big deal? Kids had a long day at medical appointments then helped me locating items at Costco, they do deserve some reward, right? Ladies at the counter tried their best to ignore me for quiet a while. They excelled in it better than a bartender or a waiter in Las Vegas who somehow perceives that he/she was not being tipped generously enough for their unceasing efforts if there is still such a thing. When one lady finally acknowledged my presence she only asked if it will be cash or card and referred me to self-serve kiosk. I can also go home and fry my own hotdog it is not a science or as we all decided on our way home better hotdogs and even condiments to go with them are sold at the local Maverik. Not cheaper, but so much better tasting and all we have to do is to pick up hot dog, bun and condiments and let the CLERK process the transaction before sliding the card. Last, but not least there were still no curbside pickup options last time I checked. Fred Meyer has their items much better systematized in their store and yet curbside pick up is offered. Wal-mart in Chubbuck also offers curbside pick up even though it is usually fairly slow ( 6-7 times slower on average compared to Fred Meyer). Yet it is offered and if you are disabled or can't move too fast or are unsure where the desired items are located it still makes sense. Sam's club offers curbside pick up. I was recently laid off and was forced to downgrade my 20 year executive membership to gold. I was denied entry at 9:27am this morning because I was not an executive member. I had a very small window of time today to get my hearing aids serviced. Now I will have to wait a few days. This might sound petty to some, but I'm really pissed off that they would deny me entry 1/2 hour early because I no-longer have their executive membership due to being laid off. read more

The worst Costco I have ever been in. Checker was rude and even though I am 75 years young, refused to sell me wine without an ID stating it was Idaho law. I wend down the road and bought wine at WinCo and Fred Meyer without any ID and without the rude hassle. I wish now I hadn't shopped there at all which included $113.00 gas. Loads of people clogging the lanes while feeding lunch to their families. Way too many samplers and few filled carts. Not for me and I spend a lot of money in Costco. Tires, car, furniture, plants/shrubs and lots of food. I won't shop your stinking Pocatello location again. I'm sure your wine sales will drop...since corporate is so proud of those sales. Also the worst thing was that as I was leaving the parking lot to continue down Yellowstone, the little dormant and stiff trees scraped holes all along my motorhomes awning and damaged it so badly I will have to replace it. The road was very narrow and with traffic, it was impossible to avoid them, had I even noticed them. I shop Costco in several states and cities but I will never go back to this one. With hopes of securing better deals on wine in Idaho rather than pay all the extra tax in Utah, we detoured into the Pocatello Costco while on a road trip. Although the wine selection is smaller than many of the other Costco locations we've shopped in the surrounding area, it's certainly met our needs. There are a few practical choices that we keep in our cellar. The most popular for us is the 2013 Coppola Cabernet. We picked up a case of the Coppola and then sampled a few other bottles to see if we like them for a future purchase at Costco. Imagine being in Idaho and having a large selection of fresh seafood. This location excels in their seafood offerings. If I wasn't traveling that day, I would've picked up the scallops. The large sea scallops looked delicious. As an advocate for good wine at fair prices and a nice selection of seafood, give this Costco a try. Salute! read more

This Costco has one thing no Costco has in Utah. Wine! Yes, that evil drink of the devil. The selection is appropriate for Pocatello, meaning not some of the higher end wines in California. However, the price is pretty darn good. So, when I find myself going through here, I pick up a couple cases to drink at home. When you are in the line, either the cashier, or the person next to you in line says the obvious. Utah? Yup. Obviously I'm not the only one doing this. Driving in from the small driveway is a little hectic, but it's worth it to enter the world of COSTCO. Of course, all Costcos have a similar layout with the double pull down doors and carts off to the side, but I think it's nice that here in this snowy area that they have a spacious, enclosed foyer to shake the chill and snow off before entering the store :) maybe it's just that I'm a California girl, but I appreciate any attempts at keeping me warm! Service here is standard. Funny story though--I noticed that I was one of the only Asian patrons in the area (literally, the entire shopping center). So I was really surprised when I saw that this Costco sold authentic Korean brand dumplings!!!! Bibigo for the win ;) they even had roasted seaweed which is a must for my stress snacking. When I checked out, coincidentally there was a Korean checkstand helper as well. I thought it was pretty amusing that HE TOO freaked out that I was buying Asian dumplings too. I picked up 4 bottles of various wines and all were around $10. They also have a medium size selection of beer. Price is not bad but not the cheapest in town. HEARING AID DEPARTMENT Review: My mother and I were referred to Dr. Myers by a close friend. Glad we went to see her. We were hesitant to go due to other experiences we had with audiologist around town worrying about their bottom dollar and not the patient. Dr. Myers is a very friendly and knowledgeable audiologist. She explained everything to my mother and I, and answered all our difficult questions we had. No pressure was felt by the doctor to buy, only to be helpful. I notice when our appointment was over, her next patient drove from Utah to see her. Which I'm sure they passed several Costco's on there way to Pocatello. My mother walked out with a new pair of hearing aids that worked and a huge smile on her face. If Dr. Myers leaves Costco, we will be happily to follow her. read more

My last day here and just before getting dropped off to the airport we had to make a stop for the churros. I kept jocking the churros all week long, so it was about time we made the stop. It's the usual Costco that you know and love but the eatery where they make their pizzas, hot dogs, and churros, is located in the inside of the building itself. I've never seen that sort of layout, because out here in L.A. every Costco that I have ever been to has their eateries outside. Costco in Pocatello Idaho is one of the better cost goes I've been to its clean the staff is friendly and all in all it's just a good experience. Their food court is awesome we buy pizza there all the time and my kids love their dogs and the chicken bakes churros frozen ice cream's and smoothies or slushy's the prices are phenomenal and the staff at the food court treat you very well. My favorite thing to get there is a pizza with pepperoni and sausage and no sauce it's like eating a giant meaty cheesy breadstick! read more

I ordered a set of Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires online for my wife's suv from Costco because I wanted to try that model and my usual tire dealers didn't handle them. I had never been in a Costco, but have friends who are members and have suggested I join, though none had bought tires there. This seemed a good time to join and give it a try. On the day they arrived at the Pocatello, ID store, we drove to the store from our home 2 1/2 hours away to have them installed, arriving at the store at about 12:30 pm. They were busy, and we were told by the sharp young lady at the counter that we would have around a 3 hour wait. It took nearly 6. The installers finally drove our car out of the work bay at about 6:15, but the installer had failed to put our tires in the back of the car, so we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the tires to be put in bags, then in the car. Followed by the long drive home. Bad day. I restore vehicles for a living and have many sets of tires installed each year, so I'm familiar with tire stores and procedures. Periodically watching the installation activity through the window, I was astonished that there were not only too few installers, but the ones there were working extremely inefficiently. On top of which, after the young lady left at 3, one of the installers would have to stop what he was doing to come to the counter and answer the phone or talk with customers. I can't blame the installers, they weren't sitting around, but Costco tire management, if there is such a thing, is simply incompetent. At what level, I don't know; probably all the way to the top. It was as if someone were given the nice facility then didn't know quite how to run it. I do know that while we were waiting, numerous people came in, waited a while for someone to give them attention and when it didn't happen, left. I thought of a ship without a rudder. My recommendation? Buy your tires from a local, real, tire store. The savings I found at Costco were negligible and certainly not worth my time. read more

Did my Christmas cards at a Kiosk here... machines were slow and I had to switch to a new machine all together to finally get the order to go through. I prepaid for the photos and went on my way. I was told I would receive an email in 5-10 days letting me know my order was complete. 10 Days go by, no email and no phone call. So I decided to go in myself. I walk up to the photo desk and am asked, "What do you need?" I told them I was picking up my Christmas photos. He pointed to a tiny unorganized shelf on the side of the photo desk. I went over there and before I could say anything a very rude associate that is scrambling through all the orders barks at me, "What do you need?" I told her I was here to pick up my Christmas cards and she immediately responds sharply, "What size???" I repeated myself, "They're christmas cards." She said, "Were they shipped?" I told her that I had to wait 10 Days for them so they probably were. She found my order and said, "Looks like you haven't paid for them yet!" I told her that's funny because I had prepaid and had the receipt. She said no you haven't paid at all. But I'll go look to see if you have. She came back 5 minutes later and said, "You didn't tell me that you did them at a Kiosk and not online!" I felt like she was making her problem mine, that it was my fault. I kind of gave her a "I told you so" look and went on my way. Never doing my photos at Costco again. Overpriced and waited a long time for them with bad service. Walmart is much cheaper and you get the same day and more bang for your buck! Sorry Costco, you lost this customer. read more

Produce department. Have shopped 3 times at this store and all 3 times a large majority of the produce was already out of date or 1-2 days left before the items were not to be sold. A pallet of cherry tomatoes were wrinkled up most were out of date up to 3 weeks. 1/2 clam shells of salad out of date or 2 days left until the package said "do not eat after this date." Check the dates we do not need to shop where they don't care about there produce. Could also use more checkers. read more

We've been on this Costco location twice before and everything else is fine with us EXCEPT the gas station. Although it is slightly cheaper than the cost of gas per gallon outside costco, the thing that gets me is the OCTANE number they sell. They only sell 85 and 91... Who uses 85 octane?!!! With the newer cars 96 and later prefer ATLEAST 87 octane to prevent our cars from pinging and knocking thus preventing it from throwing a CEL (check engine light) SES (svc engine soon) or SEL (svc engine light) At first, I perceived it as a way for them to make me spend more money on gas that is UNNECESSARY for my vehicle. My van calls for 87 Octane and as long as I use 87 Octane my vehicle is fine with it. And NO, my van will not benefit to my advantage from using 91 Octane (The Master Auto Tech Confirmed it) Anyway, if you must stop at this costco location and needed gas all you have to do is guess how much you need and put half 91 and Half 85. I've done it twice before and our 2015 Toyota Sienna and 2008 Nissan Quest had no issues with pinging or knocking at all. Other than that, we love this costco location and Pocatello, and we will stop by this city again if we have to go through this state!!! read more

It's a smaller Costco than what I'm used to but the people are way friendly and because it's in a smaller town it's never really too busy to go shopping, except for maybe Saturday's. As always the cheap but yummy food court gets us every time! read more
