They seem to have better stuff than Jersey Costco, and if they had a bigger parking lot and a gas station they would be a 5-Star Big-Box Store. Cashier Chris R was very rude and very unprofessional and has no people skills at all.the store have a lot or produce but rather poor quality. The staff on the floor were rather rude and didn't know where things were when I asked. One of the women in the pharmacy department was very rude when I asked where 2 ideas where in her department ( didn't have a name tag or a Costco item on). The bagger/person that puts your items back in the cart was very nice. The person to show your receipt was ok needs a better personality. There was no one at customer service people were waiting for 15 minutes. Horrible store with employee that need a lot of additional training. I work at a food store for year and the way the employees responded to me was very rude. read more

So I've reviewed the Tire Center but never the store as a single entity? How peculiar. Crazy convenient, perfect after work and before dinner, with solid sample selection and pretty efficient staff (there's also Optical dept./Optometrist/photo center here, in addition to the Tire Center). Ultimately, it's good for a stop-in for the odd items I feel I need to buy (and consequently consume too rapidly) in bulk. read more

I was in the store today, July 10, 2016 around 3pm. I was checking out and asked the cashier (Margaret A) for 2 separate transactions. I have never done that before and she was very abrupt and said she needs to do it on 1 receipt and I have to pay 2 different ways. I was confused why so I went along with it without question. The first item cost $9.77 I gave her a $10 bill and added 2 pennies to get a quarter in return. She rudely throws back the 2 pennies at me and meanly says "I can't do that. I can't think right now." It's offensive and insulting to throw back money in addition to being extremely rude and degrading. I told her she was being rude and she gives me a dirty look and proceeds to say "I can't do this today" and said "I'm done!!!" I was appalled!!! I went to another employee asking for the manager and I was very upset. He directed me to David, the Front End Manager. I told him what had just happened and he acknowledged that it was unacceptable behavior and he would speak to her. I have never in my life been treated in this regard and was very degraded and insulted in addition to being dismissed like a child or dog. How can a person working with customers have such terrible customer service? I worked in the retail industry for over 10 years. I have never treated anyone like they were less than me and with any disrespect whatsoever. I also informed the Manager that if Margaret is not happy with her job she should quit. I would like their employees especially Margaret A to be trained fully in customer service because I feel that Margaret A did not receive adequate training at all. Or I feel she needs to work in an area where she does not have customer contact. SO if you would like to be subjected to abuse and rude manners seek out Margaret A. I hope she learns because she seems to be one miserable person. I hope Costco realizes that such a little attitude can result in numerous repercussions. Who would've thought asking for 2 different transactions and a quarter would've created such a negative reaction??? So simple but it seems hard to achieve for some. I have membership at BJs too. I guess I'll be going there more. Such a shame. I need to rethink my executive membership at Costco now. Why should I pay so much for such rudeness??  So aggravating..... read more

Regular Costco. The parking lot is a zoo! Just save the drama & park as far as possible. Inside is okk, however the checkout lines are always long. Yesterday, it was a blessing to get on a short line. There should be more registers open. read more

Love that they always have free tasters! Great food area and great prices! Gray things for great prices. They have everything! From flat screen televisions to an aisle full of candy! Great location right by the mall. Love their rotisserie chicken - much better quality than other rotisserie chickens at other grocery stores and also better than BJ's. Come here for the milk, eggs, and anything at the food court. Beware of peak shopping hours (weekends) as it gets super crowded and hard to navigate, but you do get to try a lot of free samples if you enjoy shopping during these times and don't mind taking longer to get to checkout. read more

Costco is Costco this is just a typical one but not one of my favorite locations. Went to get the turkey meatballs today and found out they no longer carry them although they are Carried at other Costco locations. They are really good I can't believe nobody's buying them??? Then to make it worse when I was waiting on the huge line to get out the door I guy named Chad doesn't even have the common courtesy to say thank you as he shoves my scribbled receipt back in my face. We have been members since it opened as "Price Club" many years ago. I am baffled at some of the negative reviews. I suspect that the vast majority of people living in the surrounding communities shop here and know what to expect at a bulk wholesale market. Yet, some complained about "customer service" during the Covid-19 pandemic instead of offering thanks for being there during these very trying times. Thank you Costco employees! Most shoppers already know that most items are in bulk quantities - and there are indeed good savings. Of course, if you're buying in bulk, you may lose to waste or spoilage. So you need to be smart about your purchases. Fresh meats are excellent and the roasted chickens are great and a steal! Many products are here today and never seen again. Wish they had a broader selection of canned and frozen goods as our regular supermarkets in this area seem to be disappearing. Parking lot leaves a lot to be desired primarily because of lazy shoppers who insist upon parking as close to the building as possible blocking rows waiting for parking spots to become available. (Plenty of parking just a short distance away.) Relatively clean environment, good employees and a tad bit smaller than other LI Costco's. Overall, Costco is a great store and you will always find some terrific values. If you're not yet a member but thinking about becoming one, just understand that it is almost impossible to shop here, no matter how short a shopping list you have, without dropping a couple of hundred bucks each time you go. read more

I just bought an outdoor furniture set. I fit the chairs in the car in 2 trips. The tables did not fit. Maria the manager there was determined to get them to my house. She put them in her car with the help of Rico and dropped them off at my house. They went above and beyond. I thank them so much. My husband and I are big fans of Costco. We have had memberships to Sam's, BJs in the past but will never go back. Sam's is part of Walmart which we avoid (they never had what we wanted aside from some tasty cheap chicken) and BJs is always a hot mess. Plus both are smaller. Our dog has food allergies and we would have to buy expensive dog food for him (60 bucks a bag and he isn't a small dog), I was super stoked when I saw the Kirkland brand dog food was similar to his grain free expensive dog food and only cost 38! We also get his front line and heart guard from here. Meat section is great as is produce (I still get most of my produce from meat farms). I do wish they would carry original flavored almond milk. We have bought furniture that has held up great, electronics and bedding. I love that I can snag Bobbi brown makeup, Chanel lipsticks and st Tropez self tanner so much cheaper (riverhead has the best selection of these items). My husband and I also started getting our glasses here because even with our insurance , we were able to get nicer glasses cheaper. If all that wasn't enough, they pay a fair wage, are closed on holidays for their workers, have an extremely low turn over rate and their products are never marked up more than a certain percentage (so you know for sure if its as cheap as you can purchase the items). If Abbi from Broad City was able to bribe her roommates boyfriend with a Costco Chicken you know that shit is tight (Also check out Broad City on Comedy Central, amazing) read more

After having my first child I decided that it may be a good idea to sign up for a membership at Costco but now I hate that I even tried. Upon arriving at the store located in Nesconset, NY I was rudely yelled at to step back and show my card which I was at the time unaware that I needed. Then I explained that I am a potential customer looking to inquire about membership and to tour the store. So they send me out the entrance and threw gates only to wait on a long membership line. As im standing there I noticed the long line that I was directed to says returns and the other two say memberships. So me, my husband, and my 23 month old child go ahead on to the membership line only to be yelled at again and told that "It's one line only and what do we need anyway!?" So I explained that we simply just want to have a tour of the store so we can proceed and sign up for membership. Then the representative tells us that Costo does not allow anyone but members to enter the store and that the only way to see the store is to purchase a membership and if we do not like it they are fully refundable. Me and my husband were completely shocked and speechless, as we just had come from viewing BJ's with no problem whatsoever. So feeling really unsettled, my husband decides to call another location which is in Holbrook, NY and surprisingly they tell us sure come on down we will be happy to show you around! I couldn't believe it. So all this time we were so badly treated all because the location we chose had an unknowledable staff?! This is a problem and needs to be addressed by management so everyone is on the same page. I will be voicing a complaint in the morning. And needless to say I will not be going through with  membership at Costo. Will sign up with BJ's tomorrow. read more

This review is specifically for the Costco Optical in Lake Grove. I can't say enough good things about the service we have received from the associates at the optical center. Especially, Ira and Jack. Our family has been getting our glasses from there for several years and these two technicians are the best. They take the time to help find the right frames, offering suggestions about what frames work best for each person's face and then fitting them perfectly. Trust me, a sales person must have a lot of patience when helping me. These gentlemen have the both the patience and the expertise. They provide personal service unmatched anywhere. Recently, we acquired a new vision plan. We went to 3 different eyeglass places and, even with eyeglass insurance, it was still cheaper to get them at Costco. read more

This costco doesnt have many things that BJ's has for example. Thats strike one. The cashier Tracey that checked my mother and I out at the registers had no manners, was very rude, and lacked in customer service skills. She stated numerous times how my mother's picture on her costco card did not look like her in almost a discriminatory way. My mother has never had a hassle like that from any cashier or store in her life! I didnt see Tracey the cashier asking and harassing anyone else about their costco picture. My mother had over 10 forms of ID in her wallet to prove it was her. So why all of the hassle??? Because we are non-white, this particular cashier felt as though she could push us around. Thats strike two. In addition to this, she "forgot" to ring up the water at the end of our purchase forcing my mother to void out her already written out check. That cashier should pay us for that voided check. Thats strike three. Tracey needs to be reprimanded and learn how to treat customers. I spoke to a manager and all she could say was sorry. Guess what, I already called corporate and complained and they will take care of Tracey. Being nasty gets you nowhere in the end. I will take my business to BJ's from now on!!! read more

This Costco is great. Everything is well organized and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. And of course Costco's prices are great. Even when the lines are really long, they move fast. I now buy everything at Costco. read more
