Nice location and close to downtown, I like this Costco compared to the Lancaster one because it's bigger and has more selection of everything. It was also easy to find parking. The staff is not friendly in any way but you can find everything you expect to find at a Costco and more. The food samples were surprisingly disappointed but maybe that was just the day I visited , they also had more furniture and yard items compared to other Costco locations I visited. The cost was well within reason and the cafe had cheap food that came out pretty quick. Would recommend this Costco compared to the Lancaster one read more

As members, we always stop for gas (where available) & things like paper towels, t/p, tissues, etc. Kirkland branded products are very good. Each time we shop there are more organic products. Warehouses are not all set up the same way. Sometimes you have to look for things they regularly carry. One thing we've found is that when you see something you really like, buy it now. A typical warehouse style type store with some pretty good discounts overall. I'm glad they brought back the sample stations which allow you to try certain foods before you commit to buy them in bulk. Even with just a household of 2, we buy basic necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. to help save here and there. We do buy produce like grapes, tomatoes and cherries here as well as lunch meat, cheeses. Beware they DO push the fact you have to be the member to shop/purchase items and will push for you to get their credit card/executive membership. They now check your membership card at the self check out as well. I'm assuming people were sneaking around the system somehow. Haven't used the pharmacy so I cant comment on that but we do get good deals on OTC medication and vitamins. I tired to make an appointment with their vision department but its a third party you need to call in and schedule and appt. I tried several times but couldn't get through so I'm not sure if I got the wrong number or if it was really disconnected. Gas used to be a good deal, usually 20 cents cheaper than other stations but recently the discount has only been like 5 - 10 cents difference. It's also a wacky parking lot set up and gas lines so I avoid that headache now and just hit sheetz. Bonus points for their food court which always satisfies my junk food cravings. Who doesn't love a good hot dog and soda or ice cream treat? Restrooms are also clean and there is a water fountain with a set up to refill your water bottle. read more

Yep yep. Still love Costco!! We are At the office and needed good quick food for dinner. Got us a Cesar salad to share and a rositterie chicken oh yum! Red skin potato salad plus some vits! U have to stay at a line on the floor and they bring your cart up and they ring it all from the basket! Outside they were wiping all the baskets off. I am getting really tired of being harassed every time I go to check out in the self check out when I have 2 or 3 different orders. I pay $120 every year for my membership I DO NOT need to be harassed every time I check out. They scan my card when I walk in. They look at my picture on my card when I go to check out so STOP there. You already know I am a member. I buy things for work and myself. Therefore, my work order needs to be on a separate receipt so I can get reimbursed for it. I should not have to explain myself every time I check out. It is ridiculous for them to keep harassing customers when they pay you $120 a year just to shop there!!!! One time after I got home I even called the store and spoke with the Manager to let him know about all this and if this keeps up I will end my membership and go to Sam's Club where I will not be harassed to shop and check out there. Needless to say the harassing just continues, so my last trip there I really left loose on the lady at the check out and when I say let loose I mean let loose. I am sick and tired of this freaking harassing so everyone in the front half of the store will hear me from now on. LEAVE ME ALONE AFTER I PROVE TO YOU I AM A MEMBER!!!!!!! This location is plagued by congested traffic in the parking lot just like all other Costco locations I've visited, especially around the area near the gas pumps. The checkout always has long lines, even if the lines do move relatively quickly. As a result, there's always an elevated level of stress when shopping here. This is contrary to our typical experience at the Sam's Club location in Mechanicsburg, where the parking lot is always wide open and there's never any line at the checkout. So 1 star off. That said, Costco has noticeably more selections, especially of ethnic varieties. E.g. Japanese mochi ice cream, Chinese moon cakes, Taiwanese pineapple cakes, Vietnamese instant pho, Korean jerky, French chocolate crepes, Belgium Waffles, etc. You get the point. It's almost sounding like Trader Joe's. Certainly none of these are available at Sam's Club. Items are also more competitively priced, with many items having instant savings at any given time. As a result, we found ourselves always spending more at Costco than at Sam's Club. Costco's rotisserie chicken doesn't taste as good as Sam's Club's, but it's hot dog at the café beats Sam's Club hands down. Too bad Costco is 12 miles further on the wrong side of the river. read more

I spend a lot of money at this store and additionally, have their credit card. My Costco rewards are forwarded to me via email every year in February. When attempting to redeem my rewards as I was checking out the other day, the link provided in my email would not open so the bar code could be scanned. I asked the 2 cashiers if they could help and they couldn't be bothered. They repeatedly told me that they just cash their check when it comes in the mail. I explained that mine does not come in the mail that it comes via email. They then proceeded to say: well I can' help you - their exact words. They didn't follow it by saying, let me find someone that can . So I told them to get a supervisor . The supervisor came over and was then able to assist me within a minute. The two cashiers totally dismissed me -they had no desire to even TRY to help. I have been a nurse for 35 years -How would they feel if they walked into the doctor's office or hospital and I looked at them and said I don't know what to tell you- I can't help you . Or what if they would've had a heart attack in front of me, and I just walked away and said I don't know what to tell you I can't help . it is unacceptable! I realize we are not comparing apples to apples here, but the premise is Morality and human compassion. Absolutely no customer service in this world anymore and Costco is not excluded!! Maybe AI will replace their jobs someday, and I have no doubt that I would get more assistance and compassion from a computer than I would have from those two human beings!! read more

Membership card checked at door coming in, card scanned to check out, and receipt checked at exit and now associates calling you over from self checkout registers to check membership card again. When I voiced my annoyance with this issue I was simply told they will cancel my membership if I want. I intend to return all recent purchases then cancel my membership. If they are concerned that is in fact you that paid their $60 annual membership they should shut down the self checkout lines and put these associates on registers. I know many people who have others pick up things for them at Costco, use other people's online membership to make purchases, or flash an old expired membership card then pay with a friends or neighbors active card so all this does is upset and inconvenience honest members. read more

A thin jacket that is very warm, affordable, and even has its own bag to store it in, perfect for people like me who don't like huge annoying coats. I love my neighborhood Costco. I come here all of the time and it makes me happy. If we had liquor it would be even more perfect but alas, this is PA. The staff here is on point. They know where things are and they check you in and out quickly. We also have the great receipt checkers at the end who draw fun pics on the receipts for the kids. This costco offers everything you need and they have samples a plenty. I could spend all day just going aisle by aisle looking for new products and spying hidden clearance stuff like today I bought a 3 pack of speedo goggles for kids for $4.97!!! And the other day I got a two pack of margarita mix for under $5. But generally the stuff I buy is a good deal and I definitely get my membership fee's worth and then some! I am not a Costco member, but my friend is, so I was able to accompany her on weekly shopping trip this past Saturday. There's two items that I really love from Costco; the Kirkland brand chocolate covered raisins and the Kirkland brand steak strips. I made sure to stick to those two items so I wouldn't be enticed by the many other store items that I was presented with every few steps. My friend got the basics- olive oil, dryer sheets, egg whites, spring mix, strawberries, dark chocolate covered blueberries, and old fashioned oatmeal. I only purchased the two above-mentioned items. My friend spent about $120 for several items, while I spent about $25 for my two items. We were able to navigate the store pretty easily, despite it being fairly busy. She informed me that this is the only Costco in the area, and the next closest Costco is about an hour away. This explains the general congestion in both the parking lot and the store. We didn't get to order the infamous churros or hots dogs at the end, as the line was far too long. Maybe next time! We are military and recently moved to the area. We assumed (being former BJs members) that we could get a day pass, try it out and purchase items to see if we liked it more than rejoining BJs. We were given a pass and did not realize we had to pay immediately for a membership before purchasing what we were interested in getting. I get they want us to be members, but the guy kept pushing their credit card on us instead of explaining anything else. Once I agreed to get a basic membership, they wouldn't give us a membership because I didn't have anything with our new address! I'm in the military and move around all the time. Ordered appliances online and have had the worst experience possible. I ordered my Samsung kitchen set a month ago and have yet to see them. Not only are they not here but I've talked to Costco on 4 different occasions and not once were they able to tell me where my appliances were. It said about a week shipping and it's going on a month. Costco is membership only wholesale club that sells mattresses, electronics, toys, tires, prepackaged and fresh made food, gasoline, perscription drugs, hearing aids, jewelry, etc. Costco offers different types of membership: Executive (100/yr) Business (50/yr) Personal (50/yr). All purchases must be made with cash, check, pin-debit or american express cards. Costco offers their own American Express TruEarnings (recently switched to a Citi Visa in 2016) credit card which has a member rebate on costo purchases and cash-back on other non-costco purchases. This location is pretty nice, gas is usually cheaper than any competitor by about 5 - 10 cents, as Lina & Traci stated. On Saturdays & Sundays they have free product demos such as juices, crackers, fruit, cake, etc. They have an automotive center and a food court. of special note is: a quarter pound all-beef hotdog,20 oz drink and free refill for 1.50!!! It's about $0.05/gallon cheaper and the time that I remembered to go to Costco for gas ... a really cute gas station attendant helped me out there. On December 5th, 2021 I purchased 4 Michelin tires from your Costco Harrisburg store. On December 6th at 7:00am I took my vehicle for an alignment service at Bobby Rahal Lexus and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System light appears on my vehicle dashboard on my commute to the dealership. Once my vehicle was return to me, I immediately contacted Costco Customer Service and spoke with Ms. Auden Lewis via telephone. On December 7th I was contacted by the local (Hbg) Costco Tire Technician; who explained, I should have return the vehicle to Costco for service. I informed the technician the vehicle was at the dealership for the required Costco recommended alignment service; the very next day, why would I return the vehicle to Costco for service when I was at the dealership. Dec 13th, I spoke to the Store Mgr Susan T. who was to follow up; as of Dec 30th NO REPLY...I have purchased numerous sets of tires from Costco and purchase numerous vehicles from Lexus, which both have always provided great service until this recent tire purchase. I am requesting a refund of $240.41 for service rendered I must admit, I was shock my the Customer Service provided by this store manager. Beware Instacart shoppers!!!!!!! The employees at this establishment will make SURE you know you're an instacart worker and NOT meant to be in their store. Honestly, if Costco orders weren't such a nice take home price I would NEVER set foot in this Costco. Cashier CJ loves to inconvenience and ignore instacart shoppers as well as blame them when something goes wrong. Many of her coworkers don't look at you as they speak to you and answer your questions while continuing to write on their clipboard or do their work.
