Arrived at 5:30 today (Thursday 2/5/26 at Flemington location . Shopped for 1/2 hour, filled my cart. 20 people ahead of me in line to the only open register. Asked to have at least another register open, no reaction. Left my cart in the aisle and took my money to another store. Typical experience nearly every time I've gone there, especially on a weekday after work when people need to get home. Wasted 1/2 hour of my life. I'm done with Costco. read more

They mind your business and keep tabs on what you buy and how often you are there. I've overheard some comments about how often I shop there. This isn't so much a review of Costco as it is of NJ laws. I thought I would buy a few gallons of fuel for my rental car. I was wondering why my membership card didn't seem to be working. Then, it hit me, right when the attendant came up to me. I apologized. He was cool about it. I live in CA, and, trust me, one of the best features of Costco is the booze, wine, and beer. Many brands are exclusively sold under the Kirkland brand name. Seriously, we get some good deals. I do like that this store never seems to be very crowded. I was here on 03/23/2020 which was a totally different era than today. Let us take time travel back to that day. I took a chance and decided to come here on short notice for my immense shopping list because this was likely be least crowded location that's the most available to you with the most distancing possible. Thankfully, I was correct. I was so happy to see upon rounding the parking lot been that they regulate entries to ensure social distancing in the store. combined with you already few numbers due to fear, there was plentiful shopping without any violation of social distancing in any phase of the visit. Gone are those days when a Costco visit until the whole family because as publicly stated they will allow only one guest per member. Helping the gating staff are interior staff inside who ensure everyone socially distances. Staff also gently yet audibly remind all customers to hurry in the name of their exposure and safety. Ohviously the food court takeout menu as their site says has been temporarily changed to only hot dog (soda remains), pizza slices, and whole pizzas condiments are by request only. the former seating area has been entirely dismantled and emptied. It's a sobering preview of what is to come for all businesses. At the entry doorway is always posted a staff member offering sanitary wipes to wipe down every cart. Staff in the lot are extremely thorough about getting carts collected and queued up at the entry such that no customer needs to waste effort going around looking for a cart. Clearly signed are the exhausted and available items of greatest demand as well as the temporary hours which as of yesterday are over thus back to normal hours. Also clearly signed are reminders of state law requiring face coverings for all customers and of course social distancing and they return policy exclusions which are both from state law as well as Costco national policy both as well as their temporary hours and reminders to socially distance. Despite the dramatic procedures, all new to everyone even the forward thinking Costco, and associated stress, the staff were so very chipper and happy; dare I say, even, more glad, and generally nice than even before. I sense a general rise and empathy and kindness through this era. Availability was good with expected outages on paper products and most cleaning products (including garbage bags) which is exhausted within a few hours of any restocking which seemingly happens at any time if day, not only after hours. Entirely understandable and far better than most competitors in this toilet paper frenzied era. Temporary limits per my photos are namely on said items. Return policy is rumoured to exclude these hoarded items. This is the best shopping experience as can be expected in such a time, so thank you to all who make it happen. read more

One of thee best Costcos around BUT have noticed a few things recently that kind of indicates Costco/Kirkland is pinching pennies but not lowering or even maintaining prices. (1.) Eliminating the $1.00 churro from the food court and replacing with a $2.49 cookie. (2.) Noticed smaller buns for its hot dogs. Dog is too big for the bun and sticks out. My take is that the longer dogs ( probably existing stock) will be replaced with shorter, skimpier ones to "fit" the new shorter buns. (3.) Hot dogs used to be wrapped in foil and then bagged for the consumer. Today I noticed that the foil wrapping was missing with the dog simply put into the bag. (4.) Kirkland paper towels- rolls are no longer individually wrapped ( yeah right- a move to eliminate plastic NOT) saving a measly amount no doubt. We now don't buy Kirkland but go back to Bounty rolls which are individually wrapped and not much more money. I have the feeling that there are probably other cost cutting measures at work that don't benefit the consumer in anyway. Maybe Costco has a new exec. at work trying to make a mark for himself. read more

Costco is Costco. I've always had friendly cashiers at this location. Lines can be long at peak Times but it's Costco. I never ate in the food court at this location but lines are crazy long when I walk past. The shelves are always stocked. The rotisserie chicken is one of my favorites. Place is a disaster - No leadership - they treat their seasonal employees like crap. They work the seasonal employees butts off and then they throw them to the curb. They do not keep hard workers as promised when interviewed. It is all a bunch of crap. The bakery is a disaster and dirty - housekeeping is very poor and everyone thinks they are a boss. Everyone has a chip on their shoulder and think they are better than others. I witnessed a cashier get berated. I am sorry but members are not always right as they preach. I was in line as a customer and about to jump this person's ass. But they left in the niche of time. Some of the front-end supervisors and managers are great! The front end is way better than other departments. They better watch out because they will be the next Distribution Center that goes with the teamsters! After shopping at the Coscos in Warminster, Pa., and Lawrenceville, NJ., coming to their warehouse in Flemington, NJ, was a bit disconcerting. It was organized in the mirror image of the other two, and left became right, and right, left. Luckily, it wasn't hard to adjust, but when I forgot which store I was in I constantly turned in the wrong direction. Other than that, this location has something the others did not - many fewer customers, and lots more room in the parking lot. Even on Saturday afternoon it was easy to drive onto their premises, find a reasonably good spot free of shopping carts left behind by anti-social customers who can't locate the cart corrals, and just push them out of their way and leave (pet peeve). Walking in you go right rather than left, and then the mirroring games start. Fewer people playing bumper carts means it is quicker to move through the canyons finding what you need (or don't need, but can't live without), and make it to the cashier, find those empty boxes for loading the groceries in the car, and get out of Dodge. I've grown to appreciate and even enjoy the biweekly runs to Cosco, but I wouldn't mind dealing with smaller crowds and emptier lots. Flemington is about 15 minutes farther to drive each way, but the time saved while there, not to mention some of the other retail opportunities in the area, make it an attractive alternative. read more

This location is pretty rad if you are looking for a diverse array of products! A lot of gluten free options and some that are low carb as well (ie cauliflower pizza). Really impressed by the wide range selection and the clean layout of the store. I am really torn about how to write this review so I will just let it roll and see what happens. This review should have two ratings; me for the management and store quality and the second for the employees. Costco is usually and solid four for a chain warehouse style store. They are clean, orderly just not a guarantee on the shock which can make shopping a little tough sometimes. Food is a good quality and very nice selection. All of the pre-made dinners we have tried have been really good. The real reason I wanted to rate this store was for a few incidents I have noticed with a few staff members, one specifically. We were there the other day and the male working at the seafood station was videoing customers on his Snapchat and sending it to someone. How do you know you might be wondering. Because we saw it, we saw him trying to be sneaky, we saw him on Snapchat and we saw him typing. Pretty discussing and I'm pretty sure it's against a multiple of rules and regulations. I approached Costco staff members that appeared to be management and told them what we observed. They went over to him immediately but I do not know the outcome. I would like to believe they dealt with it and it will not happen again. Either way the we're every responsive and agreed my thought that it was not right what was taking place. I went to Costco here for the first time and I bought these grapes for my daughter. When I got home, my daughter realized there was mold on the grapes. She went to get new grapes or get a refund and they said they could not do ANYTHING for us because of COVID-19 laws. We aren't asking to return them (we can't eat them either way), we just wanted new grapes or a refund for the $12 grapes I just bought. I understand they can't accept food at this moment because of everything going on, but, come on, they sold me moldy grapes. They should really check their produce better. This is a great Costco. I think the pharmacy in particular fosters a sense of dignity and exhibits down-to-earth friendliness. I have noted this several times, both in phone calls and in-person interactions- it makes a big difference to have kind people who are trying to make the best of their job, and treat humans with respect (which they may not always get in return from some over-entitled consumers). I think they and most other employees I've interacted with are doing a between satisfactory and exemplary job of their duties, and I applaud this coming from a corporate giant. The Flemington Costco is the reason I will renew my annual Costco membership when I thought I would not. I enjoy shopping there, and besides the aberrant snarky sample lady, it is a vastly enjoyable consumer experience. I always said I'd never join a wholesale club like Costco, but multiple children later and a sweet Groupon deal that flashed across my screen and I was ready to try it. Overall, I don't know that the prices are that amazing compared to grocery store sale prices. However, the sale and specialty items are usually great deals! This particular club is a little on the small side and doesn't sell alcohol. It isn't too crowded and the lines move quickly. On our more recent visit, my children spilt a slice of pizza from the food court. It was very large and they enjoyed it! read more

This location, Flemington, is a good location to shop Costco but go through the week and not on the weekend though. The Bridgewater location is not nearly as good for the folks that shop there, they are not courteous, bang into you, step in front of you, etc. The Flemington store is always clean, management and staff are always courteous and helpful. We have not had a problem there. We shop most of our meat purchases here instead of the local grocery store. The only place better is the local butcher. read more

First of all, this is a biased review. I am a huge fan of Costco, so I was thrilled when one came to Flemington. Like every other Costco I've been to, the floor staff are very helpful and will drop everything to show me where something is. Products stocked are just what I look for in Costco and while quantities of items are usually about double what I'd find in my supermarket, prices are never even close to double. This Costco also has a gas station with good prices for gas, it has a hearing aid center, which I may soon be needing (I bought batteries for my mom's hearing aid at about 18 cents per battery when she was paying $1 per battery at the local Giant). Check out is almost always efficient, quick and friendly. read more

Fresh food sizes are just too big for me to use up though but its Costco which means huge sizes and would work for a large family. When buying clothes at any Costco it is impossible to try them on. Therefore, it may be required that you return the goods if they don't fit. That's what I needed to do and when I got to the store the line was very long. So, I decided to go shopping and then return the goods. The so called "policy" of the store is that you must return 1st- so wait. I decided to continue to shop, and the "rude and insincere greeter" sent security after me --to force me to return 1st- embarrassing me in front of the other shoppers. So, I say to Costco if you must have this policy staff your store for returns or maybe put fitting rooms in your store, so the returns decrease. In any case your "policy" is backwards because it doesn't meet your customer's needs. Your phony staff is forced to embarrass your paying members (membership fee of more than $100). I've been an executive member for more than 15 years and have spent in excess of $100,000 at Costco over the years- Gas, diapers, clothes, food. If a BJs appears near me, I will be gone. You also may want to hire more gas pumpers as well. The pandemic is over, and people have choices where they can shop- Be cautious of how you treat them. read more

I WILL NEVER AGAIN STEP INTO ANOTHER COSTCO AS LONG AS I LIVE!! My nephew and I went to this Costco just recently, and after hearing about the good shopping experience my nephew had, I wanted to check the new store out. Well, as usual we got the gestapo treatment at the entrance which Costco is notorious for. "MEMBERSHIP CARD, PLEASE!" We told the guy we didn't have a membership card, but wanted to browse around, maybe buy something at the higher non-member rate to which he replied in a nasty belittling tone, "na na na na na na no. You have to have a membership card to shop here," which is complete nonsense, because you CAN purchase items at a higher rate without a membership card at Costco. I sarcastically remarked to him, "thanks for the wonderful welcome! Where's your manager? We spoke to the manager, and she remedied the situation by giving us an application and allowing us to browse through the store. My nephew talked to a second manager just to express his frustration with the entrance check guy and asked if we could get some food at the food court. The phony lady behind her station told us to get a hot dog, that it would make us feel better, and then she turned around like she couldn't care less. The hot dogs we got rumbled in our stomachs from the rudeness we experienced at this Costco and the absolute discomfort and bad energy we felt there. We decided to just leave after that. On the way out I called the entrance check guy several expletives to his face as obedient consumer lap dog shoppers were racing their carts to the entrance and showing their outrageously priced 60 dollars a month membership "papers" to the SS officers in front as if this store is doing you a favor by taking your money and treating you like absolute crap in the process!  NO THANKS, COSTCO! read more
