I understand Costco's policy requiring the member cardholder to be present; however, what occurred today was inconsistent and created unnecessary confusion. My husband took my card and was refused the use of it, which I understand, but the card was withheld. When I contacted the store after he returned, two individuals expressed surprise that the card was retained. A supervisor initially stated that no such interaction occurred and no employee matched the description. Only after I asked for a review and a return call did she locate the individual involved and confirm the card had in fact been withheld. This experience signals a breakdown in service consistency, staff training, and clarity of protocol, particularly at the registers and member service desk. Additionally, the request that I personally travel back to the store to retrieve a new card did not reflect any consideration of member inconvenience, distance, schedule, or the fact that this occurred during one of the busiest holiday periods of the year. read more

They don't undestand that tire lug nuts should be torqued to proper setting while the tire is just slightly touching the pavement....not raised 3' in the air. Initially they overtorqued my lug nuts above 85 ft.lbs . using an unmetered electric torque gun.....instead of 76 ft.lbs with a hand torque wrench. If I was stuck roadside with a flat i wud not have been able to get a flat tire off. When I returned to have them properly re-torqued I had to explain the 'how to' and the 'why' and remind them (insist) they re-do all 4 tires. I think they have not received proper training despite the 'Tire Expert' accreditations usually displayed for each mechanic Tech at Costco Tire Centers. read more

We've used their Eye department for new glasses and the Hearing department for hearing aids. The pharmacy in the back of the store fills our prescriptions and gives us flu shots and shingles shots. We got tires here as well. It's got a big free parking lot and is conveniently located. This Costco gets very crowded and the staff keeps the checkout lines moving along efficiently. read more

I majorly update my review of this location which I had only occasionally used for the last 7y. by this time specifically focus on the COVID19 prevention procedures which they have done from the very beginning, March 15. They have regulated entries to ensure social distancing in the store which has been adjusted for the most recent change reconfiguring their entire check out lanes to be staggered as to allow nearly full normal check out traffic without any violation of social distancing in any direction. Gone are those days when the line would ever exceed the not to like the sidewalk in front of the store, now even on a weekday peak it is shorter than that sidewalk. Note, I've never gone on a weekend since March 15. Supplementing the gating staff are interior staff inside who have walkie-talkies to communicate with central traffic command to keep the many zones of the store properly socially distance. Staff also gently yet audibly remind all customers to socially distance. Ohviously the food court takeout menu as their site says has been temporarily changed to only hot dog (soda remains), pizza slices, and whole pizzas condiments are by request only. the former seating area has been replaced as storage for their services display panels which used to be lined up right of the exit walkaway. At the entry doorway is always posted a staff member offering sanitary wipes to wipe down every cart. Staff in the lot are extremely thorough about getting carts collected and queued up at the entry such that no customer needs to waste effort going around looking for a cart. clearly signed are the exhausted and available items of greatest demand as well as the temporary hours which as of yesterday are over thus back to normal hours. Also clearly signed are reminders of state law requiring face coverings for all customers and of course social distancing and they return policy exclusions which are both from state law as well as Costco national policy both. Despite all this change and stress, the staff are seemingly even happier, more glad, and generally nice than even before I do sense a general rise and empathy and kindness through this era. The exception is at the closing hour when they have to be forceful to get the wind down done which takes hours especially with the aggressive restocking of exhausted item which adds hours daily. Availability is complete except for meat which is exhausted within a few hours of opening all weekdays. Entirely understandable and far better than most competitors. Temporary limits per my photos are limit 3 total meats per customer although some cashiers interpret this to mean limit 1 of each of three types: chicken, poultry, beef. This is the best shopping experience as can be expected nowadays, so thank you to all who make it happen. read more

I have been an executive member for years. Actually, I pay for two memberships, one for my wife, which was used only once. I pay for it in case my wife wants to enter the store before me, while parking the car. What I hate about Costco is the cart checking. This step is senseless, pointless and meaningless. It is waste of money for the store and west of time for members. Some times the is long and the checker wants to have full verification of items. Also, the isles are not labeled, so members have to go through several isles to fined the items they need. Rarely to find floor worker who can help you. It is impossible to get a way with a single item one the check out cashier, unless he is crook, which is not the case at all. I am sure other members dislike that as well. First, shout out to Tim the manager for helping my mom finding two Baby Yoda giant plushies. The inventory showed some in stock but they were nowhere to be found on the floor. Tim then started cutting open pallets in the receiving bay to find the right box. Thanks, Tim! I clearly was not on the Costco bandwagon back in 2016. I am still sad that they only take Visa/Debit (you can use any pin-based debit card), but I have found value in the membership every year. Bulk frozen items, toilet paper, cleaning products, bed sheets. My analysis in 2016 holds true, maybe more so now. On most items, Costco beats Amazon on price and you don't have to sort through 5 pages of knockoff garbage to find the right brand/version of the product your looking for. Costco does a good job in selecting which brands/products make it onto the shelves. They are busier than ever these days. Lines to check out can be long (nobody comes to Costco for just one thing). Self checkout almost never has a line, so I always use that. I haven't seen it in a while, but on very busy days (in the dark times™) there is a line outside to get in. The parking lot is an absolute madhouse and some people drive without a care at all for pedestrians. Definitely use the entrance-exit closer to Bob's/Petco and avoid driving directly in front of the store if you can. read more

I came here because I needed to get papertowel and a few supplies. I braced myself figuring it was going to be a long wait in line. To my surprise, there wasn't any lines. Costco was keeping track of how many people were coming and going, but the flow was consistent. This time around the store was stocked pretty well except they didn't have any almond milk or almond creamer which I thought was strange. Most stores have had no trouble stocking these products. Costco also implemented a rationing of meats. I didn't see a sign anywhere saying this so I put two packages of chicken breast in my cart along with other meats. When I got up to the front I had to stand in a specific line and wait to be directed to the checkout. I only waited five minutes which was really good. When I got up to the counter to check out I wasn't allowed to touch my groceries. There was a man who went through each and everyone of my items and place it on the conveyor belt. He saw I had two packages of boneless chicken breast and told me I wasn't allowed to purchase both. I told him I understood and he removed one of them. Along with this worker was the cashier who rang up the groceries. I was directed to go on the other side of the conveyor belt and wait. All of my groceries were packed neatly in the car and off I went with my receipt. As I was exiting they had set up booths with plexiglass fronts and you had to press your receipt against the glass, so the person checking out could look at your receipt. I also noticed there wasn't as many workers as they usually were so there's nobody really to ask if you can't find something. The staff is very nice, but you can tell they're very stressed out. I really like this Costco and I will continue to come here. I hope things go back to normal and we can get rid of the mask which makes it very hard to shop. Love Costco. Recently tried their $2 pizza slice. Why didn't anyone ever tell me how tasty their pizza is? Regretfully, I made the poor decision of googling the calories (don't do it) when I got home, but I still have fond memories of their pizza and would do it again. At the condiment station, there is a hand cranker thingamajig that pushes out diced onions y'all. I prefer my onions cooked but loved that the cranker sat next to the ketchup and mustard dispenser just waiting for its turn to be turned. Costco is more than just bulk food items. With their membership, you have access to travel, automobile, furniture, clothing, vision, printing services, etc. My goal each year is to maximize my Costco discounts, which include taking advantage of the food samples. To avoid the crowds of people and long lines, try coming during the weekdays. The shopping carts are just too big to be pushing through the chaos that can be found on a Saturday or Sunday. read more

While they did not have the tire brand I needed, they did check my spare tire pressure as a courtesy and add air as it had really low pressure. Just purchased $600+ and stood waiting almost 5 minutes for the cart checker (Chris) while he flipped things around in the cart, below the cart, put the clothes purchased over the wet chicken, almost dropped the eggs etc.. while the other checker was done with 6-7 customers in the same time. While I can understand Costco ensuring all items are paid for, this type of checking is USELESS. My receipt had approx 60+ items and the items below the cart were clearly labelled (which is what is often missed). After the invasive checking, he has the nerve to yell at us while I was talking to my wife about his the waste of time. I had a similar experience a while back. In talking with neighbors and friends, they experienced similar experiences in the past 2 years. I am seriously considering cancelling my membership.. there are other choices like BJ's and Sam's Club that do not mistreat their loyal customers in this manner. Hopefully someone from Costco leadership (Bridgewater or NorthEast) reads this review and addresses the issue. Costco has been my go to for large hauls. This location is conveniently located in an area that also houses Targets, PetSmart, Home Depot, BBB, Trader Joe's and a few other spots. Given the current Covid situation, I have to say kudos to the staff for working so hard ... adjusting to the many changes they as employees have to make to stay safe and for their management to guide them. Costco generally has standard opening hours referenced on their website but they updated their store closing time across the chain. I got word that this location was trying to open 1-2 hours earlier to accommodate the surge of customers so I showed up a little before 8am. By the time I got there, there were already well over 15 pple wtg for the doors to open. I grabbed a cart, wiped it down, and got on line. There are lines on the sidewalk to show how far apart you need to stand and a sign to remind you. While on line, employees were checking to see if anyone was medical/emergency/law enforcement personnel to make sure they got in before everyone else and it was nice to see customers also yelling out to check). Right before I got in, I saw another employee spraying down carts with some type of cleaner. As you walk in the door, they limit the # of folks in the "lobby/entrance" and hand you a wipe for your cart. PSA - Please don't be a douche and leave your dirty wipe and gloves in the cart. Use a trash can! Once in, they announce how they're letting folks in and what's out of stock. The store was super organized and well stocked minus the items they announced at the door. For the most part, customers kept their distance but a few didn't care ‍. The line to check out was VERY organized. Tape to separate and create a single file line to the register. There are LINES on the floor to show how far folks should be standing apart. Pay attn, people, and get off your phone . You shouldn't be touching them with your dirty gloves hands anyway! Lol. The registers are all numbered. An employee directs customers which register to go to and where customers need to stand. There are plexi shields in the front of the entire register. Cashiers will not touch your cards so you will need to hold it for them to scan. As usual, someone helps load your cart. Similar to the person checking receipts is shielded so you just need to slap your receipt in front of them like...how do you like them apples style...and off you go. (Including telling me that the laptop I bought would come with certain Microsoft programs for free, which is not true, I found out when I got home.) So I proceeded to go to Costco's website and read customer reviews to try to figure out which one to buy, ugh. Would have been nice to have some actual guidance. Anyway, he wrote me the paper to buy the laptop I picked out. The checkout lines were long & I only had the one item, so I got in the self checkout line. There was someone in charge of the line with a blue vest. I asked him if I was ok in that line because I needed someone to get me the laptop, just had a paper. He told me to go directly to the counter on the wall at the end of the checkouts and they would ring me up and grab the laptop. I was so happy, no waiting! So I get to that counter and the lady working tells me to go get in line and pay at a checkout first then come to her. What?? I explained that I was in line and was told to leave my place in the line to go to her. She insisted on sending me back to the end of the line! WTH. I finally pointed to the obvious register with card reader right in front of her and said "are you sure there's no way you can ring me up here since I already lost my place in line by following the directions of that guy in the blue vest??" She begrudgingly entered the item number into the register in front of her and gave me a total. I paid. She walked into the room next to her, grabbed it, and I was on my way. Why would she send customers back to the end of enormous lines when she has a working register right in front of her and it took her less than 1 minute to ring up my 1 item? I have now converted other family, friends and co-workers to shop at Costco because of just the awesome deals especially when you live in large groups. Now I generally don't go without him anyway but on this occasion I had an event for work and to help out my co-workers I figured, hey they have Costco right around the corner - maybe we can save the company a bit of money and get our staff one of those awesome Costco sheet-cake for the office that I was already too familiar with since they are SO GOOD. Well, as I was checking out with my cash card along with a few other items the cashier gave me the worst attitude. Told me I was not allowed to shop there without a membership and that it was unacceptable for me to try to use it - when it is written as their company policy website that you can AND my father had purchased gift cards as gifts during the holidays to others that he was trying to convert to be a costco member - my boyfriend's parents got one and raved about their experience. Also my dad had confirmed that when he purchased the card at our local (and very loved) usual Costco that this was absolutely allowed. At this Costco, they treated me as if I were a criminal to find this what they deemed as a "loophole" - so the cashier called her manager, her manager continued to berate me as if I was 12 and told me how I was cheating the system and that this is now allowed. Only to override it (as their standard employee procedure) and let me check out. After this whole incident. I will never go to your store again. While I understand that as employees you guys care very much about your Costco, but I think your anger / enthusiasm is misdirected. Your bias assumption that everyone's taking advantage of a system that your corporation obviously allows is uncalled for. So check your attitude at the door, and don't treat your customers (that also loves your establishment) like criminals to make yourself feel more important. I still love Costco as an establishment, I just think your particular store needs an attitude adjustment because I will never visit your store again after this visit and will tell everyone what a crap store you guys run. I do want people to know that it is not standard practice at most Costco, all the other ones I have been to - the employees goes above and beyond. Tire Center - Terrible Customer Service - Rude, Uncaring I visited the Tire Center in Bridgewater on Friday evening, November 1st, about 7pm. When I arrived I explained to the guy at the counter that I had a bubble in my tire and was worried about a blowout. He told me I could make an appointment for the next day at 4 pm as there were still 6 cars to service and they were closing at 8:30. His advice was "not to drive over any potholes". Wow. As anyone know it is extremely dangerous to drive with a bubble in a tire. His refusal to assist and nonchalant attitude was inexcusable What if that were his mother or sister with a similar problem? Would he turn them away too? I understand they are busy - but - how are you going to turn a customer away who has an emergency? They are not going to have all the brands of your desires but generally speaking what they do have is of great quality (including the Kirkland private label items). I put my order in and within 2 hours had it delivered! it was so easy and hassle free. I commend Costco for making it so easy. Everyone turned and looked at me . I was confused and embarrassed as to what was happening he completely ignored me when I asked what was the issue. The supervisor or whoever pulled my cart to the side stand and said come over here then they started talking to each other not explaining to me what happened until I asked ! They needed to verify if I was on the account or not. ALL that just for that. I was so embarrassed, it's humiliating that being law enforcement myself some cashier called SECURITY on me like if I was stealing something at Costco. Will never be going back to this place! TIRE CENTER I figured it out. DO NOT call for an appointment. They take about 5 appointments a day and you will have to call for hours on end to get one. I had to contact the manager in order to get a simple appointment. They probably do about 30-40 tire installations a day in actuality. They will also say it takes about an hour to an hour and a half. This is also a lie. Just leave your car there early in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. I have no issues about the tires they put especially since I ordered them online myself. They did leave all the stickers and paint on them. Ill probably bring it to the car wash to remove this junk soon. If you have specialty tires you will have to order your own tires to your local Costco warehouse. Mine took about 10 days to get in but I didnt reach out to them because they were suppose to call me. They dont. This is a lie. Just simply arrive at costco after 10 days and see if they are in. You can try to call to see if they are in. God speed if you do. Note that they do not do an alignments. I took my car to Mavis to get this. This is very important for a car if you are getting multiple tires replaced so remember to do it. My alignment was off and it could have caused havoc on my car. All in all service was ok. I don't think the people working in the tire center like their jobs very much since their attitude is typically eh.
