Love coming to Costco but today we went on a Sunday. Which is one of the worst days to come! LOL!! People are flooding to get in (especially the gas station) and people usually get crazy for parking spots. But I love it!! The parking is vast but usually on the weekends it's crazy so be prepared. Once you arrive the front employee checks your Costco membership card to gain access. After you arrive inside the fun begins! So much to choose from with an abundance to choose from! From a 25 pack of sharpies to a giant bag of chips! Usually whatever you need they have, with just a lot more than you need! Costco you set you u for months or even a zombie apocalypse! LOL!! So if you need gas, need food, need groceries, or just want a huge pizza to go this is the place to be!!! read more

As is typical for us we will always visit a Costco when traveling. There is a treasure hunt aspect of it which Costco feeds by sometimes having unique local items. The Chula Vista Costco, did not give that item but it it had all of the typical charms that draws us in like a fly to honey. In this case we were looking for a few items to complete my sons dorm move in. Its setup in a similar manner as most, with electronics, as you come in plus sale items, seasonal and clothes in the middle, housewares, food, then medications etc in a U shaped manner. Customer service is excellent and you can return almost anything. Also even when the lines are long the cashiers are super fast As I stated in my review of the the Mountain View location, we do have some rules to help keep my obsession under control: 1) NEVER EVER go in hungry. That 25 gallons of dill pickle chips is much easier to resist on a full stomach.... true story there. 2) Avoid the free samples. People seem to lose their minds with this stuff. They abandon carts with crying babies, block isles, etc all to get that tiny portion of hummus. I have been shoved aside by someone desperate to get a free piece of cheese. Honestly I have seen more dignity from actual starving people in a disaster zone but I digress. 3) Avoid the weekends like the plague. 4) See #1 5) Go often. Costco uses alot of psychology and the fear of missing out is one of them. Odd items you must have pop up then go never to return. I CAN'T MISS OUT AGGGGGGG 6) Know your codes: At costco any price ending in 0.97 means it has been marked down. Any price that is not a 0.99 or .97 such as say 0.49 means it has a manufacturers discount. and price with an * on it means its done and will not be reordered so stock up. If it ends in a .00 or a 0.88 a manager has reduced the price at that location to clear it out. 7) When in an unfamiliar city head to the Costco. They always stock local items you can't find at yours (like two pounds of single origin Kona coffee for 30.00 at the Kilaua / Kona store etc.) and have cheap gas. read more

I usually have a wonderful experience when shopping at Costco on H Street, but today I encountered very poor customer service and rude workers. The cashier named Patricia was rude and had an attitude when speaking with me, there was an issue with the membership card I was using, I understand there was an issue, but her tone of voice and body language was aggressive, she then called another worker named Chester. Both were extremely rude and wouldn't allow me to explain that I was with someone that had another membership card and there is no issue. The whole interaction I felt very uncomfortable. Patricia was condescending to me and makes me want to never shop here again. Management please teach your associates basic social and customer service skills please. read more

Best Costco in San Diego IMHO, love this Costco, from their deals & their return policy & especially their customer service at the registers it's all pretty good. It has a good vibe & atmosphere inside & it's always clean with the lines going fast, you see a lot of team work here. Yes it can get crowded in here mainly on Sunday & Saturday afternoons, so on weekends come early. One thing they can work on is the free sample people, some of them look a bit sad like they need hugs. I mean their giving out free food so I shouldn't complain too much but if they can be a bit friendlier that be nice same goes for the tire guys. The eyeglasses team is awesome tho, especially Mathew he's always patient & nice. And they have a great food court, fast & accurate. I did see some petty ass complaints in here tho. Someone crying bout other drivers being rude or mean to them or that people with carts crash into them in the store or people don't put their carts away, really Yelpers? And someone gave a bad review because another customer told him to pay for his food before eating in the store, are you serious!? So your giving a bad review because of not the workers but because how some of the other customers treat you? Haha, how is that Costco's fault? Some Yelpers don't know how to Yelp & shouldn't Yelp at all, just saying... Over all this this is a very good Costco with great customer service & vibes. I'm a fan of Costco for most other things, but not the Tire Center. Had an appointment for a tire check, but said they would call me in 30 minutes. When the service advisor called, he told me that in order to get warranty credit for the tires I bought 3 years ago, I would need to present service records of tire rotation (every 7K miles) from a dealer or tire company. I told him I maintain a spreadsheet of that information, and I could show that to him, but he said he needed hard copies -- because apparently those can't be forged. I added that I could dig these up at home, and he said he would need to see that before he even looks at my tires. HE HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT MY TIRES yet. I told him I would get tires elsewhere. Prices are good, but it's apparent to me that they want to make it difficult to redeem on the tire warranty. The 70K mile warranty sounded fantastic when I purchased the tires. Honestly I get better tire service elsewhere, where they honor the warranty outright. And at the very least, if you're going to make me wait 30 minutes with an appointment, pleast look at my tires first. I do not recommend the Costco Tire Center to anyone. read more

It took longer to exit than it did to wait to fill my gas tank. 45 minutes!!!!! I got out of my car to ask the attendant if they could open the overflow barriers. "No, we can't unless a supervisor tells we can" obviously the supervisor was not there or they're oblivious to how busy this location can be especially in the gas station lines. Costco you must do better!!! From allowing people to open up packages of grapes and sticking their disgusting fingers in the grapes to taste them to allowing a chaos of grid-lock in the gas station line. Wow! Unbelievable! First, this location has the tiniest parking lot for the amount of of people who come to this location. I think this is a problem at the stores in San Diego. Don't come during the holidays...you will NOT find a parking space; but you will find a lot of drama in the parking lot; yet Costco could give two $-hits. It's all about the money and Not making sure their food is tampered free. Don't bother calling the district manager, they will NOT call you back. Decided to come to Costco after a few years. We share our card with the in laws and didn't know if it was active or not. We called up my suegra (mother in law) and found out it was. YAY! this summer has been extremely hot and drinking soda just doSent cut it when your thirsty. the kids wanted ice cream and we love a few things here at Costco that they either don't sell outside of it or elsewhere is just too expensive. Optical center has the worst customer service & optometrist! I went in for an exam for contacts in NOVEMBER and they have yet to give me my right prescription. The original optometrist that assisted me left and the new one doesn't listen to my concerns. The assistants are no help and very rude over the phone. They refuse to give me my $ back for a prescription I have yet to get. I've been out of contacts for almost 5 months. The selection of glasses is very small and the prices are very high. For years Costco has sold diesel fuel and even expanded its fuel pumps last year. Today I saw a sign at the pumps stating that in less than a week they would stop selling diesel fuel so it could sell more gasoline. As a Customer, I am very disappointed with this decision. Since getting in line she hasn't been paying attention to what she's doing, scanning our stuff thinking it belong to the customer in front of us then giving us a dirty look. That being said, she saw us with 2 carts, yet when scanned our stuff she forgot about our other cart and then blamed it on us that we didn't tell her with an attitude. After we pay for our stuff I wait and watch her with the next customer, an old Asian man, and she starts arguing with him and putting her hand in his face.. call another coworker over telling him that the customer wanted to talk to him when the customer clearly said "I don't want to talk to you". So walking in to the store today as the doors first opened at around 9:45 AM on may 15, 2021. The gentleman standing at the front entrance welcomed everyone in and didn't ask anyone in front of me for a Costco Card until he got to me. I felt singled out so I asked him why he only asked me for a membership card and not anyone else? He rudely stated in a condescending tone (as if he was bothered that I challenged him back) that he did ask others (but he did not) and then began to ask people as they walked in behind me (to make it seem like he was and had been asking others). But trust me he wasn't and you can check the cameras to prove it. So I showed him my card and went on with my shopping. As I was waking out the store to show my receipt the same greeter was still at the entrance. And guess what? He wasn't asking anyone for their Membership cards. I mentioned this to the receipt checker and this guy said " I'm not going to respond to that so as to not cause any trouble ..,,have a great day". Then started laughing really loud and signaled to the greeter saying something I couldn't hear. The greeter looked over at me and started shaking his head being super condescending. Now let me be clear. I totally understand that a membership card is required at this store. I have no issues in showing it when asked to. The problem I had today was the fact that this person singled me out cause of how I look. It was blatantly obvious that he was using prejudice and judgment. My suspicion was only proven on my way out as I watched him just waiving people in when he didn't know I was watching him. So to the managers that will be reading this. I only ask that you review the video footage and you'll see that I am correct. I ask that you rectify this situation by insuring consistency is being implemented by your employees. Shouldn't have to feel like a criminal or judged when you're just trying to have a good experience shopping at your stores. I love this Costco location. I went here for my eye dr. appointments & the eye exam was quick and the eye dr was very helpful. My glasses came in way sooner than expected. I will say- the wait was long for an appointment but luckily I kept calling to check if they had cancellations and they did! This location is always crowded (especially the gas station) and though they added more pumps, the lines are ridiculous and when gridlock happens from thhe entry/exit point being the same spot- you get stuck for a while!!! I recommend going to the gas station around 6:30-7pm or very early in the morning. read more

This review is just for the associates at their WIRELESS KIOSK inside this Costco Store #460 on 1/21/19 at around 6pm, I opened 3 lines of phone on verizon and basically, they baited and switch the plans and services.. we agreed on a cheaper plan without any mobile insurance etc.. but what they'll sign you up for is something completely different, plans that are way more expensive, handset protection and other services that was never even agreed on... so make sure you read thru the contract that they'll have you sign so you won't have any surprises on your bill.. like mine. heh.. I ended up just returning the phones to costco THEN cancelling my verizon account, for the total of 3 days I had the lines open, this is the bill that I get.. $1,866 (refer to attached picture) nobody at their kiosk even bothered to notify/call verizon to credit me for the phones that I surrendered. I don't know how they're affiliated with Costco, but they're customer service is not on par or anywhere near the rest of the other departments. read more

Dude it's Costco! The menu hardly changes. The prices are super cheap. The food portion is extremely good for the price. It gets packed during certain hours, but overall the lines of people are consistent. Hot dogs, pizza, chicken sandwiches, smoothie lattes... you know the same stuff. I don't get the big deal about the pizza. It's not great. It's good for the price but it's not great tasting. Best part is that it's like McDonald's: you can expect the same taste at every location. Also, if you're on a budget you can bring Tupperware and stock up on condiments. And if you're Mexican like me and hate chopping onions just go to the onion chopper and load up on onions!!! The Hearing Center at this location is completely ridiculous. I called for an appointment for my mother in September, they scheduled us in November, in November they called to reschedule for December. On the day of our Dec appointment they called to Reschedule us for January. We purchased the "Cadillac $5,000. Model of hearing aids. They are Not working properly, this is a quality of life issue but apparently all this office cares about is the initial sale. I Do not recommend their product or service. read more

Carla cashier Eduardo the manager. Cashier Carla number 4 kept texting during my transaction. She over charged me three things in my cart. She kept texting ad laughing at her phone never said hi or even acknowledged me. Which was fine honestly. But she over charged me for three times she charged the items twice. When I had to take an additional step and needed to get a refund for my items I was in contact with Eduardo when I told him she made the error because she was texting his response "what would you like me to do". She is on the clock it's not professional or necessary to make me have to spend additional time waiting for them to correct the errors she initially made. If she was pay attention to begin with. This employee was calm and was following her policy and procedure as an employee. She calmly said that she would call for a supervisor to help Karen M., but the employee was also dealing with a long line at the check out. The lady that was trying to get in is obviously taking her frustrations on this poor girl for losing her own wallet. That's your fault lady, not this poor girl. She was only doing her job. Everything about this Costco is superb. Friendly workers, great customer service, excellent selection and so many great deals. Specifically leaving this 5-star review for their awesome tire center. Husband's Escalade had a flat this morning (!#%!!!) Was able to make a same day appointment for tire repair in minutes online! Dropped it off early and they took care of it early! It was only ten bucks to repair a punctured super expensive tire! And an additional ten bucks to convert to nitrogen to help the longevity of the tires. Cool they offered the conversion and for such a good price. It was probably there for less than an hour once they saw it. Everyone was very nice and friendly and it was a good experience through and through. Unlike pep boys next door who are basically criminals. Will always take advantage of Costco Membership for tires from now on! First experience with them and it was awesome. Thank you guys! read more

Doing anything at this Costco is always stressful due to the amount of people. It's constant traffic. I've never personally had a problem with the employees, but I have with the people that shop there. I regularly get gas there and each time I have to drive like a douche or else I'll get cut. People have no courtesy and will gladly get in front of you given the chance. The only reason why I continue to get gas there is because of the prices. Only time that I have never had problems is if I wake up and get there right when they open. If you plan to shop there any time after 12pm, I strongly recommend not showing up. Came in on July 21st at 6:30P because my tire looked dangerously low at the movie theater so I brought it back to where I bought the tires, Costco Tire Center. They had me wait 2 hours to tell me nothing was wrong with the car. They didn't notify me it was ready, I had to go to the front desk because the store was closed, it was 8:38P by then. I asked the young man that finally showed (same who checked me in) why it took 2 hours to tell me nothing was wrong with the car and he said, because I was a walk-in and didn't have an appointment. I asked him, "so you're saying I had to wait 2 hours for you to tell me nothing was wrong only because I didn't have an appointment?" and his reply was simply "Yes". That was Sa**y at the front desk. Super nice kid, not rude at all just very blunt, but with a smile. I'm giving them one star more than I wanted to because the person who finally brought my car around really tried to make sense of it and heard me out when I explained why I brought the car in. Very friendly and nice staff everywhere else in the store, it was just my experience at the tire center and my aching back from sitting 2+ hours on a food court bench...for nothing... that brought on this review. This is the only Costco in Eastlake/Otay Area. They do a great job with customer service considering that it is typically very busy. We totally need another one in this area though. Nevertheless, I've been to every single location in San Diego and the best selections have been at this location. The prices continue to be affordable. Today I found two things at Costco for cheaper than I had just purchased on Amazon. Suggestion, look here before purchasing elsewhere. They've done a great job mandating social distancing procedures. Technicians asked covid questions and took temperature AFTER standing next to and having customers try on multiple glasses. One customer tried on glasses without her mask on. Wait area for optometrist office was crowded and filled optical area. So glad that I found glasses at another costco that followed proper protocol which included limiting people in optical area, temperature checks BEFORE recieving optical services and sanitizing work area after each customer.
