This is hands down the worst Costco location I've ever visited. The parking lot is a literal death trap. The entrances and exits are always congested, people ignore basic traffic flow, and it feels like no one follows traffic laws. Every visit is stressful before you even get inside. I've seen so many close calls that it feels like it's only a matter of time before an accident happens. On top of that, there are tons of aggressive, angry drivers and a lot of out of country plates, which honestly makes hit and run situations feel even riskier since tracking can be difficult. It just doesn't feel safe. Inside isn't much better. This is the only Costco I've been to that regularly doesn't stock simple items like plastic forks and spoons. For a warehouse that size, that's surprising. Compared to the Mission Valley and Sorrento Valley locations, this one is by far the worst. I would rather drive farther to another Costco because it would take the same amount of time I'd spend circling this parking lot. Avoid if you can. read more

Solid Costco in the South-bay. The food court has a lot of seating which is nice. The selections of products are good and they have new items all the time.My only issues are parking and waiting for food here. First the parking lot is extremely busy and sometimes I have to make multiple loops to find parking. Secondly they changed the food ordering and pickup process. You pay now at a kiosk which I think is great. The only issue is usually there is one massive line to pickup the food. They have the windows available but not enough workers. read more

Great visit. Needed to stop here to pickup some prescriptions today. They have so many deals right now. I highly recommend early Holidays shopping at this location. The Optical Department has great customer service. There are many designer frame options in stock. The optical technician who helped me was very knowledgeable and worked well with me to find the frames that I needed. His name is August and he helped me understand how eyeglass frames fit and function. After 2 hours of me browsing, I was able find what I needed (so many options!). You see it right when you enter TJ from San Ysidro. You get 2 hours of free parking. Save your ticket as you'll need it to exit. Costco memberships extend internationally. So if you have a membership in the USA, you can come. They have a tire center which was convenient because we had low tire pressure. Food court was great. Nice and clean. read more

Normally, we make a monthly or whenever we need to trip to our local Costco for essentials (mayo, creamer, paper plates, toilet paper, etc..) well somehow our toilet paper trip ended up with a cart full! However, there were some steal dealios! The clothing section was very organized, and there were lots of sale items. Swim shorts for $4, regular men's shorts for $3, kids' clothes (nike) for $6 or $9... women's skechers on sale... nautica and banana repubkic jackets cheap! normally, the clothing section is a mess with most people grabbing and unfolding and throwing it back down, but I noticed 2 Costco workers folding clothes back up. Not everything is cheap at Costco, but you can't beat nice bath towels for $6.99 and 2 pack gel pillows for $14.99, especially when GTM or Dave's wholesale has been hit and miss lately... the small face towels went from being $0.50 at GTM & Dave's to $3 each while Costco has a 24-pk for $13.99. The food court was down during this trip, and it looks like forna whole month (between Sept and Oct 2024) while they remodel. We do get stopped after paying to try and get us to go up to the executive level and not sure how to stop that mo matter how many times we ask if it is because of that.. would like to just keep our current membership and not be stopped each time. read more

Shitty food court operation! There are no signs detailing the lame kiosk ordering system. So, after long waits in line, customers are being told by the arrogant workers that a purchase slip is necessary and paying at the window seems to be ignored by them. Then you are told to get back in line after ordering to wait for pick up. I've always hated the congested parking lot & poor customer service mishandling your items in your cart at the register. Probably one of the worst food courts there is in San Diego. Been here multiple times and every single time it takes almost an hour to pick up a whole pizza. I usually order right before doing my shopping so when I'm done I can just pick it up and go home but when I get to the pick up line they tell me it'll be another 15-20min after I already shopped for over 30min. I was in the area and needed to Costco run it. This is my first time at this Costco. The entrance was super busy, but once you go into the store customers disperse to open some space. There was a long line waiting for Rotisserie chickens. There was a lot of samples, which made aisles hard to get through. My husband and I came here to purchase the Sony Bravia 8 and they didn't have it in stock. Brianna was so amazing! She has incredible product knowledge and her customer service skills is impeccable. My husband has been researching diligently on which tv to purchase and Brianna had all the right answers. I come to this Costco at least once a month. It isn't the closest to my home, but is usually a pleasant experience. This Costco is kept clean and orderly. I would visit this location for the last five years. I can almost always easily find parking without having to drive around a lot. The spacing of cart returns is appreciated, as they're never too far from wherever I park, yet it doesn't feel like cart returns are taking up "too many parking spaces". Employees are friendly, they do their job well. Sometimes the checkout lines are intimidating but typically move along rather quickly. I'm always happy with the selection in the food area. I enjoy the proper seasonal rotations Costco is able to follow. The food is rotated in a good timing as it's not boring or disappointing from one shopping trip to the next. I'm always happy with the price of bulk items, I don't even compare with other stores anymore. Kirkland brand has not let me down, and the sheer volume of products in the store are always helpful, if one has the storage space for it. This is nice because it does keep shopping trips down to approximate monthly. read more

Not sure what made me drive into Tierra Del Rey street to get into Costco's other side of parking lot when it's the worst entrance due to gas station. To top, I went on a Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving just so I can grab an apple pie (actually bought 2). From the 4-way stop light and then cars merging into two lanes, the challenge now was to finding parking. I was about to give up and go to my neck of the woods, the Costco on Broadway, in Chula Vista. After 15 minutes of traffic jam and chaos, I found a parking space on the opposite side. My shopping experience at this location was good. I thought the long lines would scare me but I was pretty sure there would be a short line, somewhere. Low and behold, a lane opened up. Luck was on my side inside the store. I was in line paying for the apple pies and out the door within 5-10 minutes. Store was clean and stocked. Staff were all busy....on their phone. I dislike the new way of getting your food at the food court. Now whether you order at kiosk or cash you have to make the same line to get your food. The line gets long and having to keep an eye on your grocery basket cause I heard someone had their basket stolen at another Costco food court is kinda nerve wracking. Specifically for the tire center. I made an appointment for Sunday at 10AM for tire rotation and to figure out why my tire sensor light was on. They told me I needed new sensors and so I paid for 4 new ones + installation. Got a call 1 hour later that it's ready. I came by 2-3 hours later since that was the only time my other ride could take me back. When I got there to pick up, 1) they lost my keys and it took approx 20 mins to find that they were with someone else's paper work 2) when I turned on my car to go drive it, the tire light was on again so I told the workers and they scanned the sensors again--but get this, they said it looks like I need new tire sensors. Hmmm... you mean the exact service I made an appointment for and paid for?!?! I came here early enough to pick up my car and go to a baptism but because of that, I was not only late to it but I paid $260 for nothing and to waste my day-- the only day of the week I had someone who could drive me back and forth to Costco. They told me to come in another day to get it done. Very disappointing experience. Imagine planning your whole day around an appointment and paying for a service just to not get it done. Never had an issue with this tire center until now. Hoping this inconvenience can be solved. read more

I am mad at myself for coming here instead of discount tires, which is right next-door. I usually love Costco and the experience. However, the tire place is disorganized, and the wait is super long. There is nowhere to sit and you have to drop off and go into the store to deal with the tire people. There's only one person working in a forward facing way for customers. Each customer has a unique issue and/or problem. They are literally dealing with customers and spending 10 to 15 minutes per customer on each matter. All while there's a line. Also, most of the time there's nobody to receive customers because they walk away to deal with issues on a case by case basis. I just need new tires. I am now returning the next day because there is a tire pressure sensor issue that I've never had before. I'm returning the next day to pay an additional $240 for tire sensors. I am annoyed because this is just a time suck. Plus, I think I got upsold because I wasn't a male. read more

Honestly I think this is the worst costco I've been to. Inside they don't have discounts like the other Costco's in santee, La mesa, and Poway. Went here because I was near by and I did not even end up getting anything because the lines were not moving and no good products or discounts for anything. Food court, I don't even know what to say about that. Lines don't move and don't say predictable times. I got 1 pizza and it took 1 hour to get. The lady kept saying the big orders come first. I get that but you can't have a person wait on a pizza for 1 hour. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at this location lately with return services. This location is closed to me so I always shopping there. The staff who was working there doesn't seem like to care about customer service. Few weeks back, when I was returned a thing I had brought, at the time I got there; there was only one customer before me but I still had to waited almost 15 minutes for my turn. There's 3 staff members worked at the time and only one person was helping for some reason. Also, I wasn't the only person waiting, there's about 5-6 people behind me. I was in a hurry, so I didn't even bother trying to make a complain. But their pharmacy staff was great, that's why I am gave them two stars instead. read more

All customers now have to funnel through a single line getting their orders fulfilled by a single server. Not three like it used to be but one. The person in the Cash window "looks for stuff to do " so they don't have to help anyone in the kiosk line. Very busy location they usually have all the things I need but I'am super ec·stat·ic that they finally carry the large tub of Daisy sour cream . It was out of stock for some time and the squeezable ones are cool n all but I much rather have the tub . Recently I tried their Shrimp Ceviche . It's pretty good I must say . Love costco and I feel like this location is pretty organized. Gas: You can enter the gas station from whichever entrance you take. This is nice because other locations do not have this ability which causes a longer wait. There's also 4 rows at each station so the wait is not long Food court: Food court is outside with both a window to order from someone and a table of 4 automated screens. This is nice because if you know what you want you can just go up an order. Plenty of covered seating as well. Costco: The team here is really good. They know where things are and the self checkout line is fairly efficient. Only thing I would say is that there isn't a person to facilitate the self checkout line and when there is someone it's a lot faster. read more

People are flooding to get in (especially the gas station) and people usually get crazy for parking spots. But I love it!! The parking is vast but usually on the weekends it's crazy so be prepared. I usually have a wonderful experience when shopping at Costco on H Street, but today I encountered very poor customer service and rude workers. The cashier named Patricia was rude and had an attitude when speaking with me, there was an issue with the membership card I was using, I understand there was an issue, but her tone of voice and body language was aggressive, she then called another worker named Chester. Both were extremely rude and wouldn't allow me to explain that I was with someone that had another membership card and there is no issue. The whole interaction I felt very uncomfortable.
