This store is pathetic. I drove all the way their to pick up an item that the website showed in stock. After the guy looked for 5 minutes he said it wasn't A week later I called and asked if it was in stock they said they had 2. I asked the guy to hold it for me and he said he would. Drive 45 minutes to the store and nobody ever heard of me. A clerk said I must have called a different store. I showed her the number on my phone history and she had no answer. Cheap tools, worse sercice read more

Selection 4/5 Value 5/5 Service 5/5 We usually leave with more than we intended to come in to buy for our business. We were looking for floating shelves that they had a year ago but they don't carry them anymore- bummer. The prices can't be beat. There's always parking available. The bathroom is behind the cashier and you need a code. read more

Store manager Erick is super unhelpful and rude doesn't follow the company policy or guidelines and makes you feel unwanted in the store the corporate management should definitely look into the stores customer service as it's unsatisfactory and the store managers are not following company policies and letting their emotions control their decisions read more

You're better off spending a little bit more money at Home Depot a matter of fact when I did go to the Home Depot, everything was cheaper than Harbor freight. This place is absolutely gross. I walk into the store and I spoke to the cashier where she was looking through me with no facial expression no customer service than the next cashier. I spoke to was the same way And I just bought a $1100 generator that I was returning. They didn't explain to me that it was gonna cost 20% to return it and I asked them if he could waive that amount because I was gonna buy a $950 power bank And he said no and walked away from me which was the manager. I gave them their $220 for the return and I told them to keep their power bank. I will never shop here for a drillbit let alone a big mark item that place is The new customer service that we all deal with here unfortunately read more

This could be a great store to shop at, if some of the employees were not so rude. I have been here twice...and both times the cashiers, were beyond rude! I will never shop at this store again. I did not catch their names...however, they were the only female cashiers that were working in the evening. The Cashier tonight had her hair covering her name tag.... read more

Lots of people in line to check out. Only 1 cashier.. Management is not good at all. Bs

Discount prices delivered with discount service. The store itself has a decent selection and very reasonable prices, the issue is the lack of customer service. Was in the area and stopped by for a few things. While shopping, passed 3-5 employees working the sales floor, no one greeted or offered assistance. Grabbed a few items and headed for the checkout. Wait was short even with just 1 cashier. Got to the checkout no "hello" or greeting, she just started ringing up the items. At the end of the transaction, without a word, she handed me my receipt. I said "thank you", to which she replied "uh huh". Stellar customer service. I see the cashier is mentioned in another review from a year ago. Apparently poor customer service is a sought after trait at this location. Will shop elsewhere. read more

WHAT..???? IT'S A SCAM, NOW YOU NEED TO BUY A MEMBERSHIP TO BUY AT HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS, WHICH IS GOING TO BE LATER, THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME LATER FOR ENTERING THE STORE..... Today I went to buy a steel step bit for a job I'm doing on my car, when I arrived I noticed that it was marked with the price of 9.98 dollars which seemed normal to me. Since they always have discounts in their store, when I go to pay the cashier asks me what my phone number is, I give it to her and she tells me that it was 20.65dlls, after that I told her that it said 9.98dlls and she was very kind to me. She says that it is only with the membership, and the cost of the membership is 29.99 per year, as a supervisor she did her job, but if we as people allow this type of scam, which is what will happen next, they are going to want to charge us 5dlls to enter..???? I think before I go back in I'm going to think about whether it's worth going to HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS, because then I'd be paying more than HOME DEPOT, and HOME DEPOT offers better guarantees...... read more

The worst harbor freight I can't wait till it goes out of business. They never have anything. Never been to this store before and do happy I ended up here. Everything is so cheap and affordable and great quality. They even sell Spare tires for cars and emergency reflectors. I ended up buying a 12pk masks for $.89 cents and emergency reflector for $4.99. Great wholesale items available and friendly staff on every floor area willing to assist. Overall a positive experience highly recommend, read more

I went to the Chula Vista Harbor Freight store this weekend. AJ helped me find what I wanted. He was easy to deal with and very helpful. When I checked out, Liah (her name is on the receipt) was the cashier. Her demeanor was overtly unfriendly, and her customer service was downright rude. She had no problem behaving this way in front of management, who was standing nearby. If she was having a bad day she should have called in sick. I'll never go to this store again. Lemon Grove isn't as close but at least I feel like they want my business. read more

First this goes to the assistant manager or supervisor that works here at the Chula Vista location. He is male I believe his name is Adrian , let me tell you he has the worst attitude to help out customers, not a very nice guys . Asked him for some help and nope did not received it , told me to go find somebody else that he was too busy . Let me tell you these harbor freight employees are something else not all but this location sucks . You walk in and feel the attitude and vibe is not kool place to walk in if you need help. Lemon Grove treats you a lot better. Atleast there they try read more

Got a tool set for 9$ which is really good. But it said 5$ on the shelf so not sure why they charged me the full price.

I don't recommend this store. I wanted to get a tool box. I went online and you had to go to the store pay for the item as pre-sale item and then you had to wait until the item was shipped and delivered to the store. They wouldn't deliver it to my house. I not only had to go to the store to pay for it before they ordered it but you also had to go and pick it up at the store. You order through Lowe's or Home Depot they will not only deliver the items but they will also assemble them for you and then they will deliver it to you. read more

This place really sucks, there is always a 30 minute plus wait in line and parking is always a problem. My last trip i went in for a 'preorder' tool box system them were advertising on sale. It was a total of four boxes. None of the boxes were keyed the same and it was not possible to get them this way. Today i went in to purchase a hand truck, two actually. I grabbed their slip and waited 30 minutes on line for them to tell me they had none in stock, well that isn't true, they had one on display. I asked for that one. she refused. This place has wasted way too much of my time. It is worth it to pay more at home depot or lowes to get what you want and to get it faster. I will only back here if it is an emergency They just lost a ton of business. read more

This location is fairly new and we've only been about three times. There is always trash littering the parking lot and storefront areas. Hire someone to clean up outside if you don't have your staff doing it. It's gross. Never fails that they only have one or two registers open most of the time. It's always hotter than a hookers asshole in Texas in there too. We found our items and were in line behind two guys for almost 10 minutes when one cashier told the 4 of us waiting that there was one line behind her register. We had one line but it was curved off to the side, not directly behind the register. While we were waiting, the same cashier says "This register is also open" and points to the cashier next to her. Of course the rude people behind us who were not waiting 15 minutes for checkout got in that line faster than flies on shit and the two guys in front of us said something to the cashier. Are they not taught to take the next person in line? Who teaches them their customer service? When we finally got to the register literally 22 minutes later, there was NO greeting. No thank you for coming. NO apology for the wait. And for the stuff we were getting, I'd rather pay the extra $5-$10 for better service at Home Depot. This location sucks. read more

Well... I called regarding availability and pricing on the 30in 5 drawer mechanics cart. I gave the SKU # to the guy than picked up my call and he said that it's for pre order only. No problems yet. I asked if it was on special and he said "yes it's for $280" I replied saying "but regular price is like $260 soo???" He then said "well then it's for $260" in a got up from the wrong side of the bed tone. Then immediately he hung up. I called back hoping someone else would pick up but.... He picked up and immediately hung up again. Anyways... usually the people In there are really nice but there's always the bad apples like this dude. I called a different store (HF on Midway Drive) and it was night and day difference. I'd rather do a longer drive than going to my local HF to be treated like so... this happened 8/17/23 at 13:36. read more

0 STARS FOR CHRISTINA:.. came in today 2/23/23 around 4pm, like if you are in a Bad Mood just don't work the register. She is not very polite nor very thankful . Charges with an attitude and doesn't even say please or thank you. Too busy rolling her eyes and looking at her phone and ignoring the customers. I come here a lot but after today I might just take my business elsewhere where associates are more friendly and welcoming. Please re train Christina ( the girl with the purple and black hair and glasses ) on customer service and attitude as well as how being on the phone texting while you're helping a customer is rude.. read more

Although I'm not fond of the location being that it's more in the industrial part of Chula Vista and that this Harbor Freight is pretty small compared to other Harbor Freight Tools outside of the area, they do have good sales and savings coupons. Parking is convenient, but the drawback is that most of the white parking lines are completely faded, so everyone who parks in this lot appears to not know how to park at all or just parks however they want to if that makes sense. Now, if you know what you're looking to buy, you could potentially be in and out in 5-10 minutes depending on whether the item you're looking for is in stock. That's about the total length of time (maybe less) that I was actually in this store during a recent visit. I stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon shortly after lunch and planned to purchase a Motorcycle Wheel Chock that I had seen on sale in an ad. Once I entered the store, I found the item I needed right away which happened to be the only one left on the shelf. After grabbing what I needed, I fell in line and only waited for about 1-2 minutes before a staff associate happily opened up another cash register and rung me up. My overall experience here at this location was good being the fact that they had what I was looking for, the price was excellent and the customer service I received from the associate who rung me up was very cordial and personable. In regards to social distancing measures here, they don't really enforce it. You just have to be mindful. However, most of the customers inside were wearing masks. Keep in mind too that their line forms in one of the aisles so if you're looking for an item that happens to be in that aisle where the line forms, it can be a tight fit and a bit difficult to get around most especially if you're shopping with a cart. read more

Great place, very fiendly staff, quality stuff, and very good prices for the buck, a lot to choose from.

This place sucks. Unorganized, always a line. So if they have a huge sale, they will have like 5 people working. And if it's a regular day they have like 2-3 people working. This ensures no matter what, there will be a 10-30min wait time check out. The one in Miramar is way better. Also, on a side note. If you are going to have the merchandise in the back, and have a little piece of paper that says "take to cashier to purchase this item" it ONLY MAKE SENSE TO HAVE 1 piece of paper for each item you have! So I went to purchase a specific item. There was like 10 pieces of papers that said "take to cashier to purchase" so I assumed they would at least have one or two. The line was like going on a ride to Disneyland and there was no one to ask to see if they had them in stock. I wait in line for 35 min, get to the cashier, he calls them in the back, and go figure, they have none left. Waste of time! I hate this place! Will never come back! read more

Been to this place over a million times. Great tools at a cheap price. Today I came by to buy a product made by holt a 2.3 gallon Manual fluid extractor. So I can extract oil out of my car. As a president of multiple nonprofits I'm very Hands-On I chose Harbor Freight because they have the best deals in town we would donated a few vehicles and we needed to get a couple of parts Harbor Freights best deals in town so I'm looking for a construction hat I approached a senior age Spanish woman and I asked her for a construction hat she points in the air and says over there over there is literally the entire store so I kind of walked that way thinking I would run into it but after three or four miles I didn't see it I run into another young lady and she says it's that way which was the total other way nobody willing to show me where the items are exactly that I'm looking for so I go to the front to say who is the manager I'm trying to find construction hats she tells me they're not construction hats their demolition hats potato potahto so are we arguing in the store over construction hat or a demolition had so she says they're on the back wall she could have simply said that the first time so I go to the front desk to ask who was the manager the manager ended up being the senior Spanish female and at that point she was still very rude but turned around and laughed and joked and giggle with other Spanish customers I said I guess it's senseless to make a complaint and ask who trained the people must be you because the other lady pointed aimlessly as well moral to the story all lives matter my money is green disrespect runs rapid in that store coming from the management so you would have expected from all the people beneath the person who trained you is a person you shadow I think everybody needs to be retrained and have sensitivity training that Harbor Freight is in business to make money maybe a friend or two to keep the money coming back Ace of Diamond TV reporting read more

A cornucopia of tools, big and small, it's a DIY-er's playground. Power, pneumatic, hand and specialty tools for auto, home, hobby, garden and more. I own some of their house-brand hand tools and have had no problems. Would not recommend them for commercial use, but they'll handle the home improvement application without question. Pretty good specials are always going on. Seasonal and random stuff. The staff are friendly enough, but in general, do not seem to be specialists with detailed answers about the products they sell. For a fraction of the cost of popular brands, but with a similar warranty, their products are a practical investment. If your livelihood depends on the performance of your tools, look to the top-shelf brands. For you weekend warrior, stop in and wander. Maybe grab an electric flyswatter! My pops told me about this place. Discounted power tools and other tools here. Found a neat screwdriver for under $2 it (it has 8 heads to work with). Also found an off brand power drill, and drill bits for about $140. Home depot and the other mainstream power tools (Dewalt, Milwaukee) would have ran much more. I just need a simple one for small house projects. I'm not planning on building any extra stuff on my property or anything. For the price point this is a good alternative for sure. read more

This store is conveniently close to my home. There is a huge selection of supplies and good deals. There always seems to be some sort of sale going on. One bad thing I have to say is there's never enough cashiers and the line is huge. As I'm writing this literally there are about 35 people in line in front of me and only two cashiers. They really need to fix that and hire more people. read more

Harbor Freight Tools - Super long lines! The Walmart of tool supplies. Hahaa - Hardware Stores Near Me - Chula Vista, California

I've been visiting the Chula Vista store for years, on L Street, just east of FWY 5. The most important aspect of Harbor Freight is that if they don't have it, you don't need it. In other words, the selection of tools and supplies is mind-boggling. The house brand is "Pittsburgh", and although it certainly does not carry the cachet that say, Black & Decker or Makita do, it's a pretty good brand. I bet Pittsburgh tools are sourced from the same places as the 'name brand' tools are. The Pittsburgh brand covers both power and manual tools. The manual tools have a lifetime guarantee, incidentally And bargains? Everything goes on sale here, sooner or later, with drastic reductions. There are ads in newspapers and magazines and direct mailers, and on and on. Plus, they give away neat little LED flashlights with any purchase. I have several of those freebies around the house, and they have come in handy. Clip those coupons ! There is always a checkout line, so expect to wait a bit before opening your wallet. Actually, for the first time ever, I returned some products, and yes, I still had to wait in line. However, the return was handled very courteously, probably owing to unopened packages and a recent receipt. On occasion, I've asked a person stocking the shelves for directions, and have been very promptly and accurately given the location of the product I needed. Parking has never been a problem at this store. In fact, nothing has ever been a problem here. How many stores can you say that about? read more

The new location is only about a block away from the old one and there is more parking which is a major plus. Store size is the same. And although they have a cap of how many customer they allow inside the store at the same time the line goes pretty fast. It's definitely an upgrade from the last place. Since its not on the main street right off the freeway its alot easier to get in and out of the parking lot with traffic being minimal. Cashiers are also really nice. read more
