You're better off spending a little bit more money at Home Depot a matter of fact when I did go to the Home Depot, everything was cheaper than Harbor freight. This place is absolutely gross. I walk into the store and I spoke to the cashier where she was looking through me with no facial expression no customer service than the next cashier. I spoke to was the same way And I just bought a $1100 generator that I was returning. They didn't explain to me that it was gonna cost 20% to return it and I asked them if he could waive that amount because I was gonna buy a $950 power bank And he said no and walked away from me which was the manager. Discount prices delivered with discount service. The store itself has a decent selection and very reasonable prices, the issue is the lack of customer service. Was in the area and stopped by for a few things. While shopping, passed 3-5 employees working the sales floor, no one greeted or offered assistance. Grabbed a few items and headed for the checkout. Wait was short even with just 1 cashier. Got to the checkout no "hello" or greeting, she just started ringing up the items. At the end of the transaction, without a word, she handed me my receipt. I said "thank you", to which she replied "uh huh". Stellar customer service. I see the cashier is mentioned in another review from a year ago. I went to the Chula Vista Harbor Freight store this weekend. AJ helped me find what I wanted. He was easy to deal with and very helpful. When I checked out, Liah (her name is on the receipt) was the cashier. Her demeanor was overtly unfriendly, and her customer service was downright rude. She had no problem behaving this way in front of management, who was standing nearby. If she was having a bad day she should have called in sick. I'll never go to this store again. Lemon Grove isn't as close but at least I feel like they want my business. read more

I don't recommend this store. I wanted to get a tool box. I went online and you had to go to the store pay for the item as pre-sale item and then you had to wait until the item was shipped and delivered to the store. They wouldn't deliver it to my house. I not only had to go to the store to pay for it before they ordered it but you also had to go and pick it up at the store. You order through Lowe's or Home Depot they will not only deliver the items but they will also assemble them for you and then they will deliver it to you. read more

This place really sucks, there is always a 30 minute plus wait in line and parking is always a problem. My last trip i went in for a 'preorder' tool box system them were advertising on sale. It was a total of four boxes. None of the boxes were keyed the same and it was not possible to get them this way. Today i went in to purchase a hand truck, two actually. I grabbed their slip and waited 30 minutes on line for them to tell me they had none in stock, well that isn't true, they had one on display. I asked for that one. she refused. I asked if it was on special and he said "yes it's for $280" I replied saying "but regular price is like $260 soo???" He then said "well then it's for $260" in a got up from the wrong side of the bed tone. Then immediately he hung up. I called back hoping someone else would pick up but.... He picked up and immediately hung up again. Anyways... usually the people In there are really nice but there's always the bad apples like this dude. I called a different store (HF on Midway Drive) and it was night and day difference. This location is fairly new and we've only been about three times. There is always trash littering the parking lot and storefront areas. Hire someone to clean up outside if you don't have your staff doing it. It's gross. Never fails that they only have one or two registers open most of the time. It's always hotter than a hookers asshole in Texas in there too. We found our items and were in line behind two guys for almost 10 minutes when one cashier told the 4 of us waiting that there was one line behind her register. We had one line but it was curved off to the side, not directly behind the register. While we were waiting, the same cashier says "This register is also open" and points to the cashier next to her. Of course the rude people behind us who were not waiting 15 minutes for checkout got in that line faster than flies on shit and the two guys in front of us said something to the cashier. Are they not taught to take the next person in line? Who teaches them their customer service? When we finally got to the register literally 22 minutes later, there was NO greeting. No thank you for coming. NO apology for the wait. And for the stuff we were getting, I'd rather pay the extra $5-$10 for better service at Home Depot. This location sucks. read more

Although I'm not fond of the location being that it's more in the industrial part of Chula Vista and that this Harbor Freight is pretty small compared to other Harbor Freight Tools outside of the area, they do have good sales and savings coupons. Parking is convenient, but the drawback is that most of the white parking lines are completely faded, so everyone who parks in this lot appears to not know how to park at all or just parks however they want to if that makes sense. Now, if you know what you're looking to buy, you could potentially be in and out in 5-10 minutes depending on whether the item you're looking for is in stock. That's about the total length of time (maybe less) that I was actually in this store during a recent visit. I stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon shortly after lunch and planned to purchase a Motorcycle Wheel Chock that I had seen on sale in an ad. Once I entered the store, I found the item I needed right away which happened to be the only one left on the shelf. After grabbing what I needed, I fell in line and only waited for about 1-2 minutes before a staff associate happily opened up another cash register and rung me up. My overall experience here at this location was good being the fact that they had what I was looking for, the price was excellent and the customer service I received from the associate who rung me up was very cordial and personable. In regards to social distancing measures here, they don't really enforce it. You just have to be mindful. However, most of the customers inside were wearing masks. Keep in mind too that their line forms in one of the aisles so if you're looking for an item that happens to be in that aisle where the line forms, it can be a tight fit and a bit difficult to get around most especially if you're shopping with a cart. read more

This place sucks. Unorganized, always a line. So if they have a huge sale, they will have like 5 people working. And if it's a regular day they have like 2-3 people working. This ensures no matter what, there will be a 10-30min wait time check out. The one in Miramar is way better. Also, on a side note. If you are going to have the merchandise in the back, and have a little piece of paper that says "take to cashier to purchase this item" it ONLY MAKE SENSE TO HAVE 1 piece of paper for each item you have! So I went to purchase a specific item. There was like 10 pieces of papers that said "take to cashier to purchase" so I assumed they would at least have one or two. The line was like going on a ride to Disneyland and there was no one to ask to see if they had them in stock. Been to this place over a million times. Great tools at a cheap price. Today I came by to buy a product made by holt a 2.3 gallon Manual fluid extractor. So I can extract oil out of my car. With minimizing and potential spills or mess. I still need to crawl under the car. To change the oil filter and oil cap to make sure all the oils out. As a president of multiple nonprofits I'm very Hands-On I chose Harbor Freight because they have the best deals in town we would donated a few vehicles and we needed to get a couple of parts Harbor Freights best deals in town so I'm looking for a construction hat I approached a senior age Spanish woman and I asked her for a construction hat she points in the air and says over there over there is literally the entire store so I kind of walked that way thinking I would run into it but after three or four miles I didn't see it I run into another young lady and she says it's that way which was the total other way nobody willing to show me where the items are exactly that I'm looking for so I go to the front to say who is the manager I'm trying to find construction hats she tells me they're not construction hats their demolition hats potato potahto so are we arguing in the store over construction hat or a demolition had so she says they're on the back wall she could have simply said that the first time so I go to the front desk to ask who was the manager the manager ended up being the senior Spanish female and at that point she was still very rude but turned around and laughed and joked and giggle with other Spanish customers I said I guess it's senseless to make a complaint and ask who trained the people must be you because the other lady pointed aimlessly as well moral to the story all lives matter my money is green disrespect runs rapid in that store coming from the management so you would have expected from all the people beneath the person who trained you is a person you shadow I think everybody needs to be retrained and have sensitivity training that Harbor Freight is in business to make money maybe a friend or two to keep the money coming back Ace of Diamond TV reporting read more

My pops told me about this place. Discounted power tools and other tools here. Found a neat screwdriver for under $2 it (it has 8 heads to work with). Also found an off brand power drill, and drill bits for about $140. Home depot and the other mainstream power tools (Dewalt, Milwaukee) would have ran much more. I just need a simple one for small house projects. I'm not planning on building any extra stuff on my property or anything. For the price point this is a good alternative for sure. read more

For a fraction of the cost of popular brands, but with a similar warranty, their products are a practical investment. The new location is only about a block away from the old one and there is more parking which is a major plus. Store size is the same. And although they have a cap of how many customer they allow inside the store at the same time the line goes pretty fast. It's definitely an upgrade from the last place. When I walked into the store there a line of customers waiting at the register and thought I was gonna be here awhile after I get what I want. So I proceeded to look for my items. While shopping, I went by the aisle that people usually line up and there was no one waiting. Cashier's here knocked out the crowd real fast. The store over all is clean; aisles do not have products blocking your path; signs above in English and Spanish. So when it was time to get online to purchase my items. There were 5 people ahead of me. Cashier's blew through the line. I was so impressed that gave the cashier a good report of my experience. She was very thankful and most of time it's a complaint about the long lines. I told her that the way the store is structured and the amount of good products the have.
