Pick up food, find a seat and eat. Quite busy today and food was still ready very quickly. Limited items on the menu, but you won't find better value than the $1.99 slice or the $1.50 hotdog and drink. My executive membership pays for itself each year. read more

Glad we finally got a Costco on this side of town. Nice spacious lot, a bit difficult to get to or to get out of at time since this is a high traffic area. So the in and out backs up occasionally. Since this store is fairly new, it is nice and clean and folks are still friendly. Hope they keep it that way. Many bargains to be found here. I am working on improving my home and found a many a things here at bargain prices. Elongated slow close toilet seats for roughly $22? Unheard off. Lighting, BBQs, Closet fixtures... check it out. The checkout still causes me a bit of anxiety since I can never remember what exactly is expected of me so I don't hold up the line. But as I slowly become a regular, I am getting better at this procedure. read more

I'm a fan of the Costco chain and I've appreciated having this Costco in Avon as I've been traveling recently to nearby Hendricks and Putnam counties quite a bit. This feels like a newer Costco, though it has been around for a bit. The parking lot is nicely sized. The gas station is wonderfully designed with a driving row clearly fined between pump areas and an extra row of pumps (three instead of two). I've been inside this Costco once, however, I've used its gas area twice (once successfully) in the last couple weeks. This Costco has the usual features - food court, tire services, pharmacy, hearing services, and optical. They do have an independent optometrist. There's a T-mobile cellular kiosk inside. When I lost my upper leg, getting in/out of my car became more difficult. I joined Costco primarily because they're very generous about pumping gas for those with disabilities. They do so between certain hours (most of their open hours) that are clearly posted. You are instructed to honk if someone doesn't see you (and they usually don't unless you pull up next to their building and they're looking). I'm not a fan of the honking - people look at you weird or they think you're honking at them. I've gotten pretty good at pulling up close to their building and being able to motion an employee. Sometimes, I do honk. Twice at this location, I've had less than desirable results from this service. First, I pulled up at a pump close to their small building for attendants. I saw the employee, though he was looking away. I parked and honked. I waited a couple minutes after there was no sign of a response - I honked again. In a moment, he responded and came out with a bit of snark. It was a brief but uncomfortable exchange, though he did pump the gas just fine after that. I returned yesterday and it was well after the hours posted for service. I saw a light on in the building, but I didn't see a person (before 8am, the store is closed and traffic is light here). I honked. No response. After a moment, the light went out. I honked again. No response. I drove around once thinking maybe I would see someone - nothing. Sadly, unable to get gas at a time when the gas station was open and service was posted as available. That's two sort of "off" experiences at a business normally known for customer service. Easily my least favorite of any Central Indiana location. My inside experience was perfectly fine. It was shortly after open with a small crowd, decent customer service, and good selection. I could get what I needed and move on quickly. Accessibility is great with parking and entryway. I sometimes avoid inside once it's busy, however, on this visit foot traffic was just picking up. Awful experience here? Nah. Just not up to the Costco standards. read more

This Costco is so much better than the one on he Northside where I usually shop. First, the parking lot is bigger and the actual spaces are bigger. The gas station has an easy In and out without potholes. (The Michigan Road store is surrounded by potholes.) The store itself is much bigger with wider aisles so multiple people can move carts through the aisles. Of course, with the bigger footprint comes more walking, which is ok by me. When I was there yesterday, the parking lot seemed full, but the store did not. The layout of the store seems more logical with all the personal care (eye ware, hearing aids and pharmacy) grouped together. There is more space at the checkouts and even at the food counter. The clerks were over the top friendly at the self checkout. The merchandise is FRESH. The peaches I bought were to die for. I could hardly wait to eat one. I also picked up some of my staples. Prices are great/same as other. I was in and out in 10 minutes. read more

Reading some of the other reviews made me wonder if people were reviewing the right place... as a very frequent shopper here, I think the kinks have been worked out and this is a superb location since opening a few years ago. Gas station is easy to get in and out of, the parking lot is manageable, food area is great, and the lines move quick. Staff is wonderful. We've bought way too many things from here... a couch, tires for our vehicles, furniture, clothes, decor, outdoor supplies, of course groceries... Never underestimate the impact of Costco. read more

Elizabeth has been very rude to customers as well as her employees it seems. I am not happy with the way I have heard her talking to her employees, seems she heavily abuses her power as supervisor. Went in today to get my membership card and that was not to bad to get done. As I went in there where products as far as the eye could see. But unfortunately to me I seen no rhyme or reason to where all the products were set up. And it was tight and hard to get to look at anything. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. It was reasonably loud inside. They had a lot of parking but you were not going to get anything close. The location is able to be seen from 36 but you can go by with all the traffic in Avon. It's worth a see but I don't know how often I'll go back. read more

ALERT! ALERT! NEW COSTCO! FEW PEOPLE! GO...DON'T GO! I have not stepped into a Costco since early 2019...by choice. Over many years, I have leaned away from bulk, more, bigger, busier to less, fewer, smaller, slower. This is why I do not shop at Costco. We have a Costco card despite my personal thoughts. My husband pops in from time to time to buy wine or check out electronics. I absolutely know there is value in Costco. I trust the Kirkland brand. I personally have stepped away from the bulk madness of Costco. After flying into Indy from Vegas to visit my folks, I had to pop up to Avon to a specific bank branch when I discovered a brand new Costco had just opened up like 3 minutes up the road. The bank tellers could not stop talking about it. Big news for Avon...maybe the only interesting news in Avon? LOL! On a whim, thinking I would stock up on wine and not deplete my parents stock, I decided to stop by this Costco. Now although I will most likely not return to this Costco or any Costco for years to come, I had a great experience at this particular Costco on this particular day. After noting about only 20 cars in the parking lot (if that) at 3pm on a Tuesday, I parked maybe 50 feet from the front door. Because there is nobody here, because people must not know yet it is here and open, I got to enjoy this retail spot and observe all its great details. Squeaky clean, fully stocked, about 30 baked chickens hot and ready to go, lots of variety and possibly the friendliest most welcoming staff I have ever encountered. I causally used the self check out where there were no patrons waiting to check out, completely open, yet a staff member still helped me ring things up from my cart. I am use to the crazy pace and heavily populated Costcos that liter our country and the masses of people and the packed parking lots are enough to deter me from every walking in. But this Costco on this day during this honeymoon phase of its opening made this an excellent visit for me today. Costco functions on volume and the masses and I understand that. But let me shout to the citizens of Avon, Indiana....GO!...go visit before the parking lot is packed. GO!...go before you are part of the cattle call of folks walking in the door or checking out. GO!....before you would be lucky to get a baked chicken because it is so busy and none of ever there! GO!...before employees get busy and you might miss how welcoming, friendly and helpful they are. I was able to get everything I needed to have a great anniversary dinner and gifts for my wife at Costco. They even had an incredible deal on gold ear rings. I got wine from Portugal was excellent less than $10 a bottle four filets, shrimp cocktail, pumpkin soup, and dessert was the excellent tiramisu cups. Costco on the west side of the city. This is a test Costco so it often gets new items before other stores to see how they sell, which makes for a fun variety different from other locations. Check out staff can be rude on occasion, but with the high lines and customer demands it would be difficult to keep your cool all the time. Returns are always easy and hassle free. Can't beat the meal value in the small cafeteria section. Tables aren't always clean but they aren't awful either! read more

If you love Costco, you'll love this new warehouse! I went on opening day and it was so fun. Lots of great samples and wonderful new products at this location. It was busy but there was no wait to checkout. The gas station has indicator lights to let you know what is open and what is being used - amazing! This is the largest Costco in all of Indiana. I used to live near a warehouse this large and I've been disappointed in the small Costcos in the Indianapolis area. This location is about 35 min compared to 25 min for the others, but it is worth the drive. They will have everything you need! read more

I love this Costco! I go on a weekly basis and the staff are very friendly, always samples, no wait to get gas, and usually not a ton of people & even if there are the registers are efficient. Highly recommend over going to the Northside one which is way busier. Never have a problem finding what I need & if I do employees are happy to help. read more

First off Costco gets most of my money, frequently lol. I guess it's a good and bad thing they opened a location even more convenient for me to shop at. This newer location is huuge, well organized and alot of good finds. As well as location specific variety that I haven't seen at other area locations. Like eddie bauer coat colors. As well as great low carb option if your into that. Staff is constantly organizing and stocking shelves. All the staff seem to be on their A game. I actually had some one personally walk me over to find some vanilla extract. I know this location is new but I hope they continue with their good standards. read more

Store is very Un organized the staff yells at you for doing self check when you request you do it yourself they yell at you demanding you member ship card make you show them between every item and won't let you scan your in merchandise. Then an older lady show up that should be retired with very damaged dyed kinky hair yells at me for requesting to scan her own merchandise in a self check. I have never shopped at store and been repeatedly yelled at for using the self check. This store needs staff and those ladies should be in the unemployment line or retired. First of all, I LOVE COSTCO!!! I am a Costco junkie! I could spend all day there and my life's savings just buying stuff there. This location in Avon has only been open a few months, but i like this location the best. It is clean and well managed. I love the self checkout. I always find stuff I need and stuff I don't need. I would love to spend a ton of money on their meats and seafood. The ground beef is 80/20% and a bargain for breaking up into smaller size for meals. I have tried several of the take and bake selections they offer and been pleased with all of them. The pies are awesome! I really like the produce section and the rotisserie chickens are a great price and larger than most rotisserie chickens you can get at the grocery store. My only complaint is that all of a sudden they won't have something that I have seen there several times before. They could also use more sample carts! I also wish they would build another one even closer to me! read more

I am beyond excited about having a Costco in Avon! The next closest location was the one on 86th and Michigan Road so I didn't go often, and didn't get much out of my membership. Now that this one is close to home, I've probably been about 10 times since they've been open barely two months lol! I prefer their produce, so that's the main reason I have to come often . I love how clean and bright this location is. Everything is brand new so it's just refreshing shopping in there. The carts are so clean and glide smoothly through the store. There is never a long wait in line, the staff are all so friendly. They always draw a smiley face on my receipt at the Exit, whenever my kids are with me. I was in for a visit today, and an employee literally yelled "I love my job" and he was smiling and so happy to be there. That says a lot about this store. read more

Let me start all of this by saying that up to this point, I have loved Costco. We shop there often and we use them to book our vacations. While Black Friday shopping, I checked on the price of a new set of tires. It was a better deal than what I had looked into previously so I ordered them even though we live 30 minutes away. I was told that their delivery truck is always there at 9:30 on Saturday mornings and they had an opening at 9:30. I arrived at 9:31 and waited until 11:45. There wasn't a truck. I was told that once they came in they could get me in first thing Sunday morning. I called before they closed on Saturday and they said the tires had not yet arrived. I called back on Monday and was on hold for 10 minutes and then five minutes. Finally They called and the tires arrived at 4:30. I came to get the tires put on and after 40 minutes they called and said they had bad news, they had ordered the wrong set of tires, and that my tires were going to be over $200 more expensive. after talking with the manager, they admitted the mistake and honored the prize which I appreciate it. I waited another 20 to 30 minutes for them to put the tires back on my car. The next morning when I got in my car, there was a small slash in the tire and it was flat. Although I cannot determine for sure that it happened at the store, I am certain I did not hit any curbs or potholes, which may have caused the damage. This led to me being late for work, calling my wife to exchange cars, then leaving work early to go home and change the tire before I could return it. After all of these additional issues the manager was going to make it right by buying me pizza and a pop. He refused to even waive the $80 installation fee. I will also say that the individuals working in the tire shop were unbelievably pleasant and were the only thing positive in this entire experience. Unfortunately, my time at Costco is over. read more
