An amazing place to have a great upscale meal. A breath of fresh air for most restaurants you find between North Myrtle and Pawleys Island. Staff is excellent and knowledgeable on the entire menu. We had pasta, a couple appetizers, and a bottle of wine. The sausage stuffed banana peppers were excellent. This is a great spot for a double date, a start to a romantic evening, or just with a couple of good friends. We had a problem with a pasta dish that a manager ended up taking care of out of courtesy, but it was not a problem to us. We ate early (4:30) on a Thurs and had good service, excellent drinks (Martinis), but the food was only ok which surprised us given the high ratings on Yelp, Trip Advisor and a local newspaper. The Veal Saltimboca was tough and under seasoned. A shrimp dish was dry and also needed some addl flavor. Place is beachy with nice art on the walls and music was not too loud. Wow. Just got home from dinner here and had to write this review immediately. This was one of the best dining out experiences I've had. Our server, James, was amazing. Great sense of humor, very knowledgeable about the menu, incredibly attentive without being intrusive. He was fun, yet professional, and really made the meal feel like a special occasion. (Good luck with the new baby, James!) Our meal was delicious. I had the burrata appetizer (burrata made fresh in-house) and it was incredible. The combination of flavors and textures had me savoring (and audibly exclaiming over) every bite. (Rich, creamy burrata; sweet, crisp apples; salty prosciutto - it was all so well-balanced!) My husband had the stuffed banana peppers. Those were also really good, but it was the tomato sauce they were served in that was the star of the dish! Entrees - I had the prosciutto-wrapped grouper (special) and my husband had the chicken francese. Chicken francese is my husband's go-to. He absolutely loves it and has ordered it in many restaurants. He said that, without a doubt, this is the BEST chicken francese he has ever had. My grouper was amazing. The sweet corn risotto was a perfect balance to the savory fish with its crispy prosciutto wrap. The balsamic reduction and baby arugula provided just the right balance of sweet and fresh. I have two concerns about my meal. 1 - I didn't leave enough room for dessert. 2 - I can't convince the whole restaurant to pack up and follow me home to Connecticut! Decent wine selection, Since Costa does not have a liquor license mixed drinks are not available at present. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in the area. A bit pricey but the service and food was always top notch. While there to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends a couple of days ago we had a disappointing experience. On the pro side, 3 of the 4 meals were excellent. On the con side, the server, David, was not up to par at all. When asked for some Pino Grigio, he said it was not a wine that Costa carried even though it was clearly on the menu. Even if he meant to say it was out of stock, he came off a bit rude in his response. Also, the pasta was cold on one of the dishes but our friend did not want to make a big deal about and didn't even tell us until after we left the restaurant. In addition, David completely messed up two of the three after dinner drink orders. Both of which were coffee with liquor drinks. The first had the wrong liquor in it and the second, instead of the liquor on the rocks with he coffee on the side as requested, had the liquor mixed with the coffee. Again, not wanting to ruin the birthday, we let that pass. Adding insult to injury, coffee drinks with liquor in them are usually one charge, i.e. Kalua with coffee might be one charge of say $7 or $8 (at least in this area); however our server charged $7 for each drink and $2.75 for each coffee that had the drink in it!!!! Have rated Costa 5 Star in the past but based on this experience had to lower the rating to 3 Stars. read more

Best Italian meal since eating in Little Italy in NY City! Gorgonzola dressing for salads is to die for. Linguine with light basil marinara, shrimp and scallops (possibly the best scallops I've ever eaten) was delicious. We treated ourselves to the Bomba for dessert- chocolate and almond covered gelato. Wow! In addition to the great food, the server was attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. Expect to be there for a while because food is made fresh as ordered. Just ask for more warm bread and dipping oil while you wait. We will definitely go back. read more

So good! I said I wanted to come back tomorrow! We ordered cosmos from the bar which were perfect. Then we ordered a crab and lobster mango salad as an appetizer which was amazing. Then we ordered scallops and pappardelle and shrimp piccata as an entree. I said the scallop pasta dish was the best I've ever had! The only complaint I had was that our salads came out two seconds before our entree. I found Costa to be a good restaurant but I found their prices to be totally obnoxious. $30+ dollars for a simple pasta dish is ridiculous. Especially when I can go up the road 2 or 3 miles to at least 6 other restaurants (Pacino's being one) & get that same dish - same quality - same service - for 1/2 the price. An amazing dinner outside of the Myrtle beach norm. A romantic atmosphere allowed us to relax and escape the commercialism while we dined and the staff did not disappoint! We went on the last day of our vacation and immediately wished we'd gone sooner! We started with an appetizer of clams, Italian sausage and sweet-hot peppers along with delicious house bread and dipping oil. Our appetizer course was paired with a Malbec (for my significant other) and a Cab sauv (for me) off of the extensive wine list. For dinner, Alex had the pappardelle and diver scallops with truffle oil. I had one of the four specials of the evening, prosciutto wrapped halibut over risotto. Both were exquisite! The waiter kindly paired each of our meals with a glass of wine at our request. A great pairing and lovely touch to the evening. I've been coming to Murrell's Inlet for 30 years. Hands down the best meal I've ever had. My bill was 135 with a decent bottle of wine but well worth it. The wait staff are amazing also. I also enjoy all the touristy restaurants and all the fried food and will continue going to those places but when I want a meal that will knock my socks off...this is where I'll go. The appetizers were fabulous with great flavors. The main course was very good as well. Delicious with apples, arugula, nuts and a hidden crunch of teeny tiny croutons all in a great tasting dressing. Next was the special shrimp appetizer. Again delicious. We split a main which was grouper in a lemon crab sauce. Perfect size to share. Cooked to perfection! The only part of the dinner that was mediocre was the dinner side Caesar- nothing to brag about. Not sure who the reviewer is that referred to Costa as "fine dining," but that is a bit of a stretch in my humble opinion. I have eaten in many true fine dining establishments and there is just no comparison. This building has housed multiple eateries over the years, most recently Bliss, which burst out of the gate very strong, but ultimately finished at the back of the field. The interior is very rustic with lots of exposed beams and wood, and the tables are wood with no table cloths. There's just really nothing upscale about it. It's a very casual atmosphere. I was there over the Labor Day weekend 2016. It was my first time there as Costa. The service was great, and the food was very good. The prices though, are absolutely outrageous! The food wasn't THAT extraordinary to warrant the extremely hefty bill. $250.00 for a table off three (that included several glasses of wine each, and the tip). $30.00 for three shrimp and two scallops served over pasta is not in any way, shape, or form a good value, or even reasonable for that matter. When Costa closes its doors, it will be because people stopped going due to the outrageous tariff. read more

Really good experience here. Jimmy was our waiter and was great. We had a special that was snapper and shrimp and it was phenomenal. We also had a mozzarella over arugula salad that was really good. I think that was a special as well. Finished dinner up with a drink at the bar and chatted with the bartender and some of the locals. Really good food and experience. A bit more expensive than the tourist traps on the Murrells Inlet strip (Drunken Jacks, etc), but well worth it. Better dining food, better service, better experience. read more

We love Piccolo's in Pawleys Island and were interested to try this "sister" restaurant in Murrells Inlet. Very similar menu although some nice differences. Special appetizer shrimp crostini was excellent. The pasta bolognese was OK but not exceptional and quite salty. Our server told us that the paperdelle was freshly made... but was not what we have been served at Piccolo's. Service was attentive but needed to ask for utensils before the main entree. We are disappointed in this location as compared to the Pawleys Island Piccolo's. read more

We didn't have a reservation, but it was a Tuesday evening during March and were seated immediately. We shared the broccoli rape and sausage antipasto. Excellent. We both ordered a special. Mine was an oven roasted red snapper with a roasted vegetable risotto and a blood orange reduction. Excellent. Hubby had the Alaskan halibut (flown in that day) with shrimp in a white wine, lemon, caper sauce served over linguine and spinach. Excellent.
