I had a traditional Irish breakfast which was excellent - very flavorful. I loved the black and white pudding! My mother and sister both had the pancakes with eggs. So when we found the Boathouse Cafe at lunchtime, just as we were getting peckish... it made us two happy bunnies indeed. We both went for the soup of the day and shared a sausage roll. The sausage roll was your standard fare. But the soup was excellent, tomato and basil. And the slice of brown bread that came with it was also excellent. None of this sweet brown bread that a lot of places seem to be serving up with soup these days. We got a table outside where there was plenty of other cyclist parked up for lunch too. They know their market here, as there are a few bike racks provided. With our bellies full and are hearts warmed, we cycled away happy.

Its a local cafe, located in the old part of Palmerstown. There is something really cosy about it. Simplistic decor with a long window couch with giant cushions so you can gaze outside and people watch. I just got a coffee and had a little chat with a few nearby customers reading papers and mags supplied by the cafe. The two staff were so friendly and you could tell they were appreciative of the custom(even though it was only a coffee). When I return next I'll get some proper brekkie...it smelt yum !
