She had a little mishap with the sink and my shirt got all wet but the cut and service were good. Upon check out the cashier asked if I lived close by. I moved to be close to my grandkids. She told me that the price for the service was 110. 00 dollars without tip. I realized I hadn't asked for the price of the cut before the service started. I paid but I was taken aback. The salon was by no means a luxury salon with amenities. I left with a wet shirt and hair on my neck. I didn't mind because the cut was great. I understand paying a hairdresser what they are worth. I honestly pay and compensate through tip. I did give a tip that day. I tried to call back for a second cut. I called and asked to talk with Rosie about her rates and the receptionist on the phone did not allow me to speak directly to Rosie. She told me 110.00 is the rate and that was it. I have several friends in the industry and I do know that if the hairdresser is renting the chair, she or he sets their own rates. I was disappointed to not have the opportunity to talk to Rosie. I would have been more than happy to have Rosie explain to me her rates. I would recommend this salon but I would caution you about rates before your service.

I never ask her to look younger or style my hair. I just want a simple cut 5-6inches off. She didn't do that and I believed she chopped off almost 15 inches from my hair. I was upset. When I went up front to pay, the guy at the front desk probably the owner heard my concerning voice about my hair and asked "is everything okay". I said no it's not. My hair is too short. He responded "well I hope it grow fast" I could have just walk out and not pay but I didn't. I paid and still tip 10% because I just can't see myself not paying. I'm still upset at how much I lost my hair and the unprofessionalism this place is. I noticed she was the same with all customers so it wasn't personal but interaction with her was unsettling. I booked the 60min signature hydrafacial and the esthetician was welcoming and willingly customized my facial based on my requests. No major issues encountered but I noticed we started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early so I thought marketing it as a 60min experience was a bit misleading. Also note the 60min Signature Hydrafacial does not include any hand/neck massages nor boosters nor light therapy so the $285 price was much more expensive than my usual spa. I will not return for another facial but may try massage in the future. We also booked pedicures and again the space is beautiful!! We were given a palette to select colors and the ladies were extremely friendly! My toes came out adorable! I found the seating to be very uncomfortable for a short person despite many pillows placed behind me for support so I honestly struggled to enjoy the experience but the space was very nicely decorated and clean looking. I found it fairly expensive and overpriced, but I recognize beautiful spaces have a cost and that's what I should've expected in the River Oaks area. There is complementary validated parking!
