This was our 2nd visit here and we were disappointed with the service. We sat down at 10:18 and our food did not arrive until 11:02. Our order was very simple (2 orders of eggs, avocado toast, grilled sourdough We arrived early enough that there were only 3 other tables occupied. Not sure what was going on, maybe they were short staffed but simple orders should not take ~45 minutes

My breakfast hashbrown waffles were delicious. The service was just really slow. The restaurant has a really cool atmosphere.

Great food, good service with an exceptional ambiance. My date and I were in town for a few days and Cosmos was the highlight of our trip. Visited twice within a three day trip. I live hours away, and I'm planning my next trip to Lynchburg right now, just to eat here again. Everything was perfectly seasoned, the restaurant is beautiful, and the vibes matched perfectly. Crumbs didn't stand a chance - the Nashville Chicken and Waffles had the perfect balance of spicy and sweet with the syrup, while the catfish was seasoned and fried to perfection. If I were to open my own restaurant this is what I would use as inspiration - wonderful establishment top to bottom.

We went for lunch. Food was great, service was good and loved the ambience! Parking is decent - a definite plus for downtown Lynchburg!

The first stop on my anniversary weekend! Excellent choice Babe. We both had the catfish and collard. The food was absolutely delicious. And the cornbread!!. Do not pass this cozy joint up. I promise you, it will not disappoint. We will definitely be back! Need to try everything on the menu!

The vibe here is great. Plants everywhere, Beer wall, excellent food, good wait staff, quick service. Every part of this meal was top tier and we'll be coming back.

If you're looking for a trendy restaurant with a friendly vibe and excellent food in downtown Lynchburg, this is the place! We had the Jefferson & Baja salads as well as the Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles. I tasted all of the above & they were excellent. Neither Chicken & Waffles or fried chicken appeals to me & I have never ordered it. However, after trying this rendition my niece ordered, I might be converted. The flavor was fantastic. The service was also very friendly, and there's a generous amount of seating. Street or garage parking is available.

Loved this place. Sadly, Cosmos is permanently closed as of March, 2025. Wishing all the luck to owner Sean Bailey.

A bit of a wait, but that was to be expected given that it was also Valentines Day. The hostess greeted us and kept us updated on an approximate wait time. Ultimately, waited for about 20 minutes. The wait time proved to be 100% worth! The menu had something to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Our waitress was swamped covering two stations, but so attentive to our table. Coffee, OJ and waters were delivered quickly. Once our order was taken, our food was delivered piping hot within 10 minutes. Our meals were incredibly delicious and very generous in portion size. All while respecting the conversation going on at the table and being mindful not to interrupt. I started with a glass of sweet tea. One sip and I knew I was in the south, for real. Perfectly sweetened, like a glass of 'Southern Champagne' should be. I started with an order of fried pickles. The portion was more than enough to share and they were everything I wanted them to be. Battered and fried, and served with a generous portion of cool and creamy ranch dressing for dipping. A southern staple, and this place did it right. For lunch I had the Reuben with a side of fries. The bread was perfectly toasted and crispy, the sandwich was stuffed with lots of tasty corned beef and sauerkraut, and the fries were piping hot. I'm glad I had a light breakfast that morning because that sandwich was so filling and so good. I noticed that they also serve breakfast all day. My coworkers both decided to get breakfast entrees for lunch, and they looked amazing. Especially those biscuits. The table beside me ordered a huge plate of pumpkin pancakes. I could smell them from the second the server brought them out from the kitchen. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to check out their breakfast options. This is a charming and quaint little eatery in downtown Lynchburg and I definitely recommend giving it a try if you find yourself on, or near, Main Street.

One person in our party said her salad had the best dressing she's ever had. The fried pickles were good. The shrimp was good. One bartender was good. Cons - We walked in and basically weren't sure what to do. There was a woman at we thought was a hostess stand, but she never said anything to us. We finally asked if we needed to check in with her to get seated. We did. But it was kind of weird. One bartender was awful. Never made eye contact. Wouldn't take any orders. Acted like she wanted to be anywhere else. I thought the Caesar salad was ok. It came with lacquered salmon. I would have loved the salmon, but not lacquered. It couldn't be made to order. Ok fine. I ordered it the way it was described. There was nothing lacquered about that salmon. It also was shredded on top of the salad and was maybe two ounces. That's ridiculous. Our server wasn't very helpful and not very attentive. I'm sure many people have had great experiences there, but I'm not sure I would take the time to go back.

Upscale without being stiff, comfortable without losing that polished feel. I ordered the jambalaya, and it was a standout. Well layered flavor, not overly heavy, with a nice balance of spice and richness. The proteins were cooked properly and the vegetables still had structure, which matters in a dish like that. It felt intentional, not just thrown together for a brunch menu. Across the table, the Eggs Benedict was equally strong. The hollandaise was smooth and properly seasoned, not overly lemony or thick, and the eggs were cooked right where they should be. That is often where places miss, but this one didn't. Dessert was where things really elevated. The strawberry cheesecake was clean, bright, and not overly sweet, with a good texture that held together without being dense. The chocolate Rasberry glutin-free dessert torte, was rich in the right way. Deep chocolate flavor without crossing into heavy or overwhelming. Service was attentive without hovering, and timing between courses was well paced, which is not easy on a busy holiday like Easter. Overall, this is a place that clearly pays attention to execution. Not just presentation, but flavor, balance, and consistency. That is what separates a good brunch from one you remember. We will be back.
