    Selection of desserts
    Suzanne J.

This is a world buffet, but it seems a bit more classier than the ones I've been to before. We'd gone on a Friday evening and had not realised how busy it would be. There was a huge queue and we waited roughly 20 minutes to be seated. The Asian dishes were my favourite. I thought they did authentic Chinese and Indian dishes. They also had crispy duck/pancakes/spring onions/cucumber and hoi sin sauce. There was a dim sum section with the barbecue pork buns, the prawn dumpling, the beef dumpling and a few others. Unfortunately the barbecue pork buns were a bit dry. They were probably steamed too long! There was a live cook station and you could choose the meat and it would be freshly prepared. I had the steak the first time and it was perfectly cooked and tender. The second time I got the scallops. They looked wonderful but they were awfully chewy and probably over cooked!! There was too much food on display and I never got round to the Mexican, Italian and British! I skipped ahead to the dessert and loaded my plate with lots of little choices. There's a huge chocolate fountain with sweets and marshmallows. I would go back if I'm shopping in Silverburn again. I would not wait in a queue again for it though!!

Plenty of seating to choose from

I didn't know that this Cosmo actually existed until a couple of weeks ago. So today when I was at Silverburn, I waltzed right in there thinking I would find it easily. I was wrong. I can't have been the only one to aimlessly wander around the foodcourt looking for the entrance to Cosmo only to realise that it is outside the centre and in an upstairs room. I didn't expect to actually get a table, knowing Cosmo and their booking policies but once the lift doors opened up into the bar, we were greeted immediately and shown to our table. This is the first time that we've been to Cosmo and got a table first try. In York we had to come back after 30 minutes and in Edinburgh we just left because of how long the line was. But not today. For my first plate, I had a selection of things, all of which were very good. For my second, I tried some sushi which I didn't really like that much. Not to mention that I am hopeless at using chopsticks. For my third, I tried the continental foods which were good. I had 3 desserts (naughty!) this included marshmallows dunked in chocolate, cream cakes, chocolate eclairs, ice cream castles, apple pies and mousse. I know, I'm naughty! And then I had a bottomless Pepsi to drink as well. I went to the toilets before I left which were clean and there was somebody in doing a check whenever I entered. The only thing that bothers me is that the hand dryers automatically switch off when the countdown gets to 0 so you have to wait a few seconds before they start again. My only complaint for this Cosmo is that there just isn't as much choice as the York restaurant. Not to mention that all of the live cooking stations were shut, which was a bit of a let down. But other than that, it was just a classic Cosmo experience and I recommend that you visit before the secret gets out of its existence.

This is the 3rd time I have been however it's the first time I was there for lunch. Plenty of food and choice available however some of the stations not available. The desserts today were of poor quality.

I decided to have bits of lots - Prawn Crackers, Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, Pakora, Popadoms, Garlic Bread with a little spoonful of Macaroni Cheese and then Chicken Korma with Nan Bread (of course). Amazing what you can eat when you have lots of little bits of things. Friend had more of a meal with a mixture of indian food and Italian. I left room for pudd because I love the Chocolate Fountain although there are numerous choices of cakes and goodies. Thoroughly enjoyed it as did my friend. Worth a visit and a reasonable price.

The hot holding temp on many dishes was not being maintained and after our last visit, our entire party had bad diarrhea which is a sign of a failing food hygiene system at this location. The food is poor because it all tastes the same - Asian. You want Chinese? You get basmati rice and spices like tumeric which just don't belong in Chinese food. The Chinese curry tastes the same as the Indian section curry. Everything is under seasoned and there was a poor choice out for a Friday evening. The Italian section was equally awful with overcooked pizzas which lacked meat toppings and undercooked crunchy mac n cheese. Indian section had the best choice and most flavour. This was fine but we paid for a world buffet not an Indian one and the dishes we had in common were from the Indian section so I presume this is where we picked up the bacteria which caused our bum gravy. Dessert section has improved. Was happy to see carrot cake back. Overall, the world buffet was mediocre and over priced for the quality of food we had on this visit. I'll stick to the Glasgow locations in future. Shame as the warm, friendly staff in Motherwell outshine the service in every Glasgow location.

China buffet King seems to have died of death in Glasgow where they used to be literally on every street. Trends and novelties change as most people don't eat that kind of food. On the buffet there isn't really a selection everything is battered and coated with a different sauce with exception to the chips. The food in the hot holding counters are not holding the food warm enough so food served is usually Luke warm. The only canned drinks on offer is lager, they don't serve Coke or bottled drinks they prefer draught that taste rank. Not a place l would ever go to again. Should be really zero stars.

I was fooled by the bright and colourful sign outside "FEAST" thinking it looked quite nice and fancy, effort had been put into this surely it's going to be ok. How wrong was I. We went in and was greeted by a chinese waitress, she was nice. However I don't think she was really that experienced in waitressing as there was an awkward silence for a few seconds while we just sort of stared each other down before she asked if we had been there before before taking our drinks order. Now to the food. I'm chinese, so I like to try out different chinese restaurants to see if it is anything close to tasting like good chinese food. Nope. This was basically another China Buffet King. Yes there was quite a variety of dishes, but none really looked THAT appealing. But never judge a book by it's cover right? Well, in this case, the food tasted about as good as it looked. The meat was dry, the food was warm, the rice and pasta dishes were dry as if it had been left covered for a couple of hours. Food in general was kinda tasteless.

I came on a Saturday afternoon with two friends for £10.99 per person. For this price, we were able to eat to our hearts' content from all the noodles, meats, veggies. The food ranges from Chinese dishes to Western fried goods to Japanese sushi. There is even a crepe station where they make chinese savory crepes or chocolate banana crepes right in front of you! It is safe to say that I was very pleased with the selection. The only thing is that there was not much seafood items and the sushi rolls were pretty cheaply made with minimal fillings. Nonetheless, it was still satisfactory due to all the other options available. I was pleasantly surprised by the peking duck wraps as well, which is quite the treat in Chinese culture. There are a few cakes, fruits, and ice cream for dessert although I do think this could be improved. I even saw a waffle bubble wrap station, but no one was there to make them unfortunately. Overall, this is the place for your Asian cravings or when you're feeling really hungry. It was £11.99 for the buffet as we went mid week. Unfortunately it was the middle of the road for me on their food. Aye they had, Chinese, Indian, supposedly Thai, Italian and surprisingly a taco, so Mexican as well then. So yes it was quiet, which we wanted but this disappointingly meant two bad things. 1. It meant some of the food was dried out, so had been lying for quite a while. My man's taco was brick hard. 2. The staff were constantly coming to our table asking how everything was. I don't mind the once but every 5 minutes by every single member of staff in there. GO AWAY!!! WE'RE FINE! The girl who we were greeted by and explained how it worked was absolutely lovely and very helpful and friendly. She served us our drinks and was the first to check we were ok and then left us to it. There was plenty to choose from but I felt it was more Indian dish focused. This maybe due to the restaurant being run by Indians/Pakistanis?! The girl apologised to us for the other staff harassing us when we went to pay her the bill, she said they can be overwhelming. We also said about our food being quite dried out and she apologised again and said we should have said something because they would have cooked up something else. It was kind of her but we didn't realise we could and when going to a buffet I don't always know what I want and will like. I also wanted my food instantly, hence going to a buffet, so no wait. It was an alright experience, only lifted by the friendly girl staff member (who I would gladly rate 5 stars) but I don't think we'll be hurrying back soon.
