11/8 I came into Cosmo Nails to receive a dip powder service with tips. As I had tips already placed on my nails I assumed I would be soaked off. Instead of doing this the tech used a drill and removed the colored powder layer and just reapplied the new dip color. This meant he did not have to apply tips, shape, or trim my nails at all. I was charged $70 for this service and paid....obviously fine with the shape because it was the one I came in with and the color was simple enough I figured it may work but had my doubts as running a drill over the apex of the nail with acrylic or dip in will obviously thin out the product build up, therefore making it weaker. It is now 11/11 and after speaking with the shop I am leaving this review to help others. First off, I am a licensed cosmetologist who's trained in nails. This was pure laziness and taking advantage. I was informed this evening when I called that doing this technique makes the nails stronger which is absolutely untrue...hence...my education allowing me that knowledge. As someone who gets their nails done monthly, tips VERY well and respects service workers endlessly I am so disappointed to be lied to and treated like I am in the wrong. I wanted my money refunded as I can't really afford to spend more money to get my nails fixed when I already paid $100 to this business for subpar and over priced work that didn't even last me 4 days. How is this making my nails stronger if they are breaking within days but when the service is done correctly it lasts a month? read more

I would not go back to this place even if it was the last one on earth. I had beige acrylic already on and asked if the had it. She told me no which is okay. I asked how much a new set would be and she said around 100$. This place is not skilled enough to be charging that much. This set was 70$ and I walked out crying because I hated them so much. I have never cried over how bad they turned out. She didn't even try to do what I wanted. This rating is based on getting a gel color change. I'm giving them a star each for quality of work, speed, price, and availability. My only deduction is for the vibe. I've been coming here for years and really like this place. Everyone that works here is friendly, it's clean, very reasonably priced, big parking lot and they do a great job. I always just walk-in and rarely have to wait, but you can get an appointment as well. I like that it's quiet in here, so I can listen to a podcast or get work done (or chat with the nice employees). But everyone needs to know that on top of the 35.00 they charge for a full set (that's reasonable), they charge 20.00 more for any kind of shape (I.e. almond, coffin) THATS MORE than a manicure!!!!! I am new to Nashville and on a quest for the best mani/pedi for the money. As Cosmo Nails, you can get a spa chair manicure and pedicure for $35. The entire experience takes about 45 minutes and includes sufficient massaging, exfoliating, buffing, cutting, polishing, etc. I found the place to be clean and bright. It wasn't too crowded and seemed like it would be pretty easy to get in (I was there on a Friday after work which I would assume to be a busy time and there were chairs available). My technician was friendly, courteous, and pretty skilled at his job. The pedicure has lasted me about 2 weeks before starting to look a little ratty - but that's mostly a result of my nails growing quickly and the resulting extension of my cuticle and lack of paint therein. The manicure only made it about a week but I didn't reapply the top coat when it started to weaken which is my usual trick for manicure longevity. This place gets 3 stars because there's no complaint except that I got the same caliber of service in Atlanta for $27, although typically I did have a short wait. The quest continues ... read more

Wow. I have never been so disappointed. It's my birthday today and I work very hard to earn a little pampering. I treated myself to a pedicure. Looked like a nice place, near my salon, where I am headed next. First I asked to lean back in the chair which felt like was pitching me forward. Rudely, she said that's it. Doesn't move. She spent about 20 minutes, lightest & quickest massage ever, painted efficiently & whisked out of the chair. I asked what it cost and she said $30. She said it was a spa pedicure with a mask. There was no mask, I said, and I didn't ask for a spa pedicure. She said that's the only pedicure they offer. I said, "This is disappointing. 20 minutes, it's my birthday and I was here to treat myself." She could not have cared less. I have been here a couple of times before and had an OK experience, but this one was by far the worst, and I won't be coming back. The man who did my pedicure barely did anything but wash my feet, put lotion on then and then paint them (very poorly). I could've done a much better job. By FAR the WORST mani/pedi EVER!!! I've visited there several times over the years since I don't live in Nashville, but this time did it for me. There was literally polish on the sides of my toes when he finished. A lady re polished and didn't look better. 2 hours wasted. I prefer more of a "spa" experience with a focus on massage and hot towels etc but this was fine for the price. I am fairly new to Nashville and have been to both Signature and Venetian Nails...and quite honestly, I enjoyed the experience at Cosmo Nails soooooo much better! It was not too crowded, VERY clean and took an hour as opposed to the 1 1/2 hours at the other places. I am not one who likes to sit still very long and this reminded me more of the types of places I frequented in LA and NY. While the price is still high compared to bigger cities, $35 for a mani and pedi is apparently very reasonable around here. I will be back for sure! read more

I love this place. I have frequented many places in the area, The Venetian, Signature, Social Graces Nail Bar, and I really prefer Cosmo. First their prices are a bit lower than the others. They have a great selection of OPI, Essie, and Butter. I rarely wait and there is never a crowd. The techs really do a good job. I'm really impressed with the Gel French I just got, they look like pristine acrylics or pink and whites. Also, this place isn't super fussy, so they are pretty quick, which I prefer. The only reason I give them four stars is because the massages aren't great, but I really enjoy skimping on the pampering for the time saved. The end result is fantastic! read more

I've visited Cosmo Nails several times but today I encountered Trish. Trish was very nasty. I asked her about the thickness of my nails and she said "your nails are going to grow and I can't help that". She was filing my nails in a pointed shape, I suggested a more oval than pointed shape and she responded, 'I'll just square them off that should be no problem. I said I mean more oval than square or pointed and she snapped "got it". She never tried to make conversation with me, just quickly rushed through the nail job and was also rude when I paid, never saying thank you or anything. So sorry to encounter Trish, because I've never had that experience with any of the others. Please do not let Trish work on your nails. I asked if she was having a bad day and I let her know that she had been short with me at least twice. read more
