I easily made an appointment through Instagram DMs and spoke in advance about their fruit nail art. The guy doing my nails was definitely not as comfortable (described himself as unconfident) in nail art, so I was surprised he was assigned to my appointment. Don't get me wrong, they turned out super cute, but I feel like there was a disconnect between the employee making my appointment and the technician which could've made the process more smooth (for him and me) and more similar to the online photos. All of the employees were kind and made sure I was comfortable in my chair, dialed in my shade of red, and provided complementary water. The other customers in the salon were clearly repeat customers who love their nail technicians and sing DIP's praises. Jayden is possibly the owner or at least a top dog at the salon who was busy as a nail tech and helped when the cashier had issues. And then after about 2 minutes of her aiming a dryer at my toes she decided to shove my socks back onto my feet. So of course my pedicure was ruined, the polish is half off and all smudged. Kim was my nail technician, and I requested a simple manicure with regular polish. During the service, she filed my nails so thin that they became sensitive and burned. When I asked her to trim them shorter so they would not extend past my fingertips, she repeatedly ignored my request. I had to show her a reference photo and ask several times before she adjusted the length. She also left visible cuticles untrimmed, and when it came time to apply polish, she began insisting that I get gel instead of regular polish. Despite explaining multiple times that I preferred regular polish, she continued to argue and lecture me about how I would "mess it up." After my nails were finished, I sat under the fan for at least 8 minutes until they were completely dry. When I got up to leave, she yelled at me to sit for an additional 15 minutes. When I politely declined, she told me, "When you mess them up, I will not fix for you." Just an overall negative experience.
