I selected alpine body shop because of the excellent reviews on yelp and carwise. They're the best…read morereviewed body shop in my area of Vancouver, Washington. Everyone at the body shop has been friendly, communicative, and professional. The people who work there seem terrific and I don't have anything negative to say about the actual interactions I've had with the shop. The damage happened over the December holidays, so I didn't expect them to be completed particularly fast, as delivery of parts over the holidays is expected to be spotty. However, the estimated date of completion has been pushed back for the third time, and is approaching 5 full weeks now - it is nearly the end of January. The first estimated completion date they gave me was two weeks ago. It's now been pushed back over 2 weeks because their parts deliveries for my Prius have been incorrect or missing important pieces. I can't blame the shop, but their parts vendors are clearly not dependable and I feel that by the time a shop gives you a third estimated date of completion, it should be correct. While I'm not unhappy with the actual service they have been providing, this experience overall has been miserable due to delays. I have had to continually renew my rental car to accommodate this extra time. In short, alpine has a great, accommodating staff at their body shop. Unfortunately, they apparently have incompetent vendors for their parts that have soured the entire experience. That said, the work they did was perfect once it was all in place, and everyone there is so friendly and honest, so I can't give it less than 3 stars. I will gladly give them another chance when I can plan for not having my car, as opposed to right after an accident.

Service completed, drove the car home with strong smell of gas permeating the car. Upon arriving home, gasoline and oil pouring out of the engine. Called the shop, they authorized a tow back for repairs. Discovered they had cracked the fuel line during gasket replacement and parts had to be ordered for warranty work. Work completed four days later and brought home. Drove the car for a week with the strong smell of gasoline and burning smell still apparent. While thirty miles from home, the engine began smoking and for safety concerns, found a auto shop as soon as possible who kindly took me in as an emergency case due to possibility of engine fire. Inspection revealed that the installation of the gaskets were improperly installed, resulting in oil being leaked/sprayed all throughout the engine the week it was being driven. Over two quarts of oil had been discharged. The shop performed emergency repairs, and thoroughly steam cleaned the engine to remove all the residual oil resulting in another repair bill. They were awesome and pretty much saved the car from bursting into flames. Returned back to ask for a refund of the original bill as it was faulty workmanship and had to be redone for safety reasons. Jayden (manager) said the warranty had been voided and no refund would be issued. He referred me to call corporate Meineke, who took the complaint and said that the shop itself dictated refund policies, not headquarters. They apologized for my terrible experience, but it was up to the original shop. Basically, Jayden sent me on a wild goose chase. Evidently the policy is more important than personal safety. Long story short, original work cost $475.00 for shoddy installation that created a severe safety issue. Rework and clean up cost $ 510.00 for excellent customer service under emergency situations. You do the math and decide for yourself. I'm returning to the shop who went above and beyond in rescuing me, and my vehicle from bursting into flames. Pretty sure this review will be deleted. It's pretty bad press.

I called Honest One Auto on Wednesday to schedule an appointment for Monday morning for an overall…read moreinspection. Everything seemed fine, but then I received a call on Friday saying they had an opening on Saturday morning and asked if I wanted to move my appointment up. Unfortunately, I was out of town and couldn't make it Saturday. When I arrived Monday for the appointment I had originally scheduled, I was told that my appointment was no longer in the computer and that they would have to work me into the schedule. This was extremely frustrating because I had specifically called ahead and made an appointment for Monday, and it appeared that my original appointment had been removed because they were hoping I would come in Saturday instead. Once I was finally seen, I went in knowing my check engine light was on and that I likely needed an oil pressure sensor. I also knew my front brakes were getting low because they had started squeaking occasionally -- nothing that seemed urgent. The inspection resulted in a $2,373.46 estimate. They recommended replacing both the front and rear brakes and rotors, in addition to the oil pressure sensor. I decided not to move forward with the recommended repairs and told them I would call if I wanted to schedule anything. I ended up getting a second opinion, and I'm very glad I did. The second shop confirmed that my front brakes did need to be replaced, but said the additional pins/rotors recommended by Honest One were not necessary. They also told me my rear brakes still had approximately 70% life remaining and did not need to be replaced. My second opinion came back at approximately $850 total for the oil pressure sensor and front brakes, compared with the $2,373.46 estimate from Honest One. I will say that I had a good experience with the oil change itself. I had already purchased my own oil and filter and decided to have them do the oil change while I was there, and that part of the experience was fine. Unfortunately, between the appointment mix-up and the significant difference in the repairs recommended versus what another shop found, I left feeling like I couldn't trust the inspection or estimate. I'm grateful I got a second opinion before spending thousands of dollars on repairs that, according to another shop, were not necessary. My advice: if you get a major repair estimate here, get a second opinion before approving the work.
