The atmosphere, service and food were fantastic. If you're looking authentic Italian food, look no further than Corso Italia

First time last night to this new-ish Italian restaurant in Scottsdale. Charming place, outstanding menu. Not a large restaurant, so I'm not sure why it took 20-25 minutes for our 3-drink order to be filled. The Corso Italia Martini was excellent and the Cocciante Margarita was a fun take on a margarita. The Fritto Misto was supposed to be shrimp and calamari, but really was 90% calamari (which was good). Definitely needs more than 2 shrimp. The Tortellini Gratinati was terrific, as were the Linguini Con Aragosta (lobster), the mushroom soup and the beet salad. The pork Milanese special was fine if a bit dry. Carrot cake was very good. We will be back as there are a number of interesting dishes on this menu and the staff, while a bit inattentive, were very kind.

I did a review about Corso's fine dining room. I came back for lunch in their market. It is just my new favorite destination. The dining room for special occasions, and the market for lunch. Next up: trying the coffee bar. The staff cannot be friendlier or more accommodating. The vibe is just wonderful. It's ironic because I'm vegan, and I'm surrounded by the fresh meats, cheeses, and desserts that I will never consume, but there's also pastas and sauces and delicacies like artichokes and olives. You can purchase Italian ingredients for your own cooking. It's elegant and sophisticated. No blaring music. A little slice of heaven Scottsdale.

Market which is where you sit for the cheap menu ‍

Interesting experience. While they have a dining room, that's only for their more expensive menu. I was having lunch, so sat at a bar within the shop. The food was ok, I had the meatball panini which I was expecting to be more panini like but it was some meatballs, red sauce in crunchy Italian bread. It was hard to eat and missing any cheese. It tasted fresh but not a lot of flavor. Normally this would be an easy 3 star but...the waitress asked what I wanted to drink, I said water, she said plain or sparkling, I chose sparkling. Ooops. She brought out a bottle and I guess I should've stopped her. I bottle of fiuggi water and was charged $7! What?! The sandwich was $14 and you charged $7 for one bottle of water that retails for $3?! Hard pass for me.

On the Italian Market side and next to the Open Kitchen - great views.

Had a sandwich at lunch.....abruzzo. one of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had... like a real Italian one I might get in Torino or Milano .

I went to Rinaldi's Italian Deli because they claim nobody beats their Italian subs. Unfortunately,…read morethat was not my experience. For $15, the sandwich I received had very little meat, as you can see in the photo. It was mostly bread, lettuce, and peppers, with only a couple thin slices of meat. An Italian sub should be generously filled, especially at this price point. I have had Italian subs at many different places, and Rinaldi's would rank at the bottom for me. The overall experience did not help matters. While I was there, the owner was sitting on his phone and did not greet or acknowledge customers coming in. My sandwich was made extremely fast, which made it feel rushed rather than prepared with care. When I got home, I realized they also forgot the mayo entirely, which added to the disappointment. That said, I did eat the sandwich. The meat itself seemed to be good quality, the bread was decent, and the photos from back east on the walls were welcoming and gave the place some character. The girls at the counter were also friendly which was a plus. Even with those positives, this visit did not come close to matching the reputation they advertise. Based on the quality, service, and value, I would not order an Italian sub here again.

Look around and you'll find SO many items you didn't know you wanted- perhaps needed. House made pickled vegetables or hummus, unique fresh produce, or packaged items... Their sourcing of various Mediterranean regional products is remarkable. My wife's ground lamb dolmades are one of my favorites. Zata has Fresno brand grape leaves (TIP: season ends soon!) that are higher quality than even from our vines we grow ourselves. The (frozen) ground lamb likewise is the best we've ever tasted. Zata always also has (either frozen or) fresh, locally-baked Persian naan. It's pillowy inside and perfectly baked outside. This bread is my new favorite too. Take your time, look around and explore everything they sell. If you're curious they'll kindly share cooking tips and samples. Like us you'll become repeat customers.

I was asking him if he might ever bring in my carbonated yogurt soda that I love and usually have to go out of my way for. It's a staple I grew up on and it was always a treat in my household. He didn't even hesitate to offer to order it and pilot how it would sell. He's now had it there every time I go for the last six months and just this morning he offered to bring in the larger liter version of it off of my request. That is exceptional customer service and I'm so grateful it's been a win-win for him as well! What a wonderful business owner! They have so many amazing Mediterranean options to choose from. I just grabbed my yogurt there as well, and he shared a tip that the yogurt soda apparently helps people sleep! Pop by give them a visit! Say Elicia sent you!

We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff were so sweet to write us a handwritten note, this really started off our night on a good note so props to you guys! As a lemoncello connoisseur, their lemoncello in general was fantastic and the spritz was very refreshing and bright! It makes me very happy to know that they make everything from scratch, including some of their liquors. A little intimidated by the menu, I asked our server what he recommended. He was very knowledgeable and very descriptive when explaining the dishes! I got the short rib pasta, and my boyfriend got the shrimp linguine. This was seriously one of the best pastas that I've ever had! On both of our meals, the protein was just incredible. The shrimp was tender flavorful and I appreciated them keeping the shell on the shrimp it just tasted so fresh! For my short rib, it was just truly incredible. The sauce was rich and flavorful without being too heavy or overwhelming. The short rib just melted. Honestly, in this day and age it's very hard to find places like this in my experience where the service is top-tier. The ambience is welcoming, warm and you can taste the actual care and love that goes into everything that they put out. I look forward to bringing my friends and family to try this gem. In the meantime, I will be forever dreaming about my short rib pasta and lemon cello. Thank you DiMaggio's for making this a wonderful experience!

So it needs to be said up front that diners, including myself, are able to be very picky about italian restaurants around here. I loved the overall vibe, design and decor. There's a big patio with a good sized bar open to the interior, and a bar inside with maybe only 10 seats. I didn't sit at the bar, but did see the bartender in lively banter with everyone there. I'd like to spend a couple hours at that bar sometime inside or out, get some bites and a cocktail. The dining room isn't too big or too small with classic dark walls and red booths, white tablecloths. My favorite. Classy and comfortable. The food was all excellent, very flavorful and perfectly executed. Even parking at DiMaggio's is easy which is rare in Scottsdale. I'm still confused about what kind of restaurant DiMaggio's is - casual or fine dining? On the one hand, the decor is upscale, low lighting, a nice bar, white tablecloths and fine dining prices. At $45, their lasagna is by far the most expensive in town, and their other entrees are all in the mid-$30's to $45, which to me sets a certain expectation. Our service was dismally inattentive, not showing up much, letting drinks sit at the bar too long so they got warm, and letting our pasta sit at the window too long so the cream sauce had a film on it when it arrived. Probably half a dozen workers at all levels just standing around watching things but not doing anything when clearly lots of help was needed, passing our table many times while ignoring my attempt to get their attention for something lacking at my table. When we first met, our server did describe DiMaggio's as casual dining, which would justify any of my complaints, but again $45 entrees? I couldn't take someone I want to impress to DiMaggio's, but also don't want to spend this much for a casual meal. I definitely need to revisit DiMaggio's someday.
