My service involved backordered/unavailable parts so Randy gave me the part number so I could order aftermarket parts to take a shot at fixing an issue that would require him to wait weeks for a manufacturer part. He didn't have to do that since it didn't make him any money, but he is all about helping the customer save money. Ryan at Corriell replied to my call within 15 minutes. Based on my description of the fridge symptoms suggested that, unfortunately, it was likely the compressor. It's a 6.5 year pull Kenmore Elite (LG) He said fixing was probably not worth it and recommended - for best reliability- a new Whirlpool fridge, with no door dispensers of any sort. (He also noted he was booked out a week if we really wanted to try and fix it) When I discovered my first choice (for price) did not have a water filter I called and left a VM asking if that would be a problem with Richland's hard water. He called back and said it would probably not be a huge problem but suggested installing an inline filter available at Home Depot. I really appreciate Ryan's help and honesty, especially when he wasn't making any money off of us! If we need any appliance repairs in the future, he's the first place I'll call. BTW, Ryan suggested Bunch-Finnegan, noting they'd give us what we need and not try to up-sell. See my review of them under their listing. read more

My Kenmore Elite refrigerator (probably 5 years old) decided to fail. The freezer won't reliably keep stuff frozen. Ryan said he couldn't get to me right away, but spent time on the phone advising me what to do to self-check the compressor. Yep, it's toast. He said LG (which makes Kenmore) has a terrible track record with compressors and that replacing it would not only be expensive but might fail again in a few years. I have trusted him before with our ice maker and believe what he says. So...we're shopping for a new frig. Thanks, Ryan for the sound advice and assistance. My dishwasher gave off a burnt electrical smell and died. Called several repair shops, Corriell was the only one that informed me there was a recall on my 2004 dishwasher. Ryan took down the model information and contacted the manufacturer. As soon as the part came they scheduled an installation. He came on time was professional and courteous. He warned me that if the part replacement didn't fix the problem I would be responsible for additional repair. The part did the trick, so everything was paid for under the recall.
