If you've gotten this far in my review, you might already know that inventory flies off the shelves at stores with American and Japanese workwear. And you'll probably check the inventory at a couple other places. I came to Self Edge last, I didn't even plan to stop here. But I couldn't find inventory with high rise pants at the other stores. The staff here were the best. This is my favorite NYC store now, and I rarely leave a review without something that could be better, nothing could be better

The SoHo store is one of three flagship stores in NYC. The bi-level space features a communal fitting area with individual mirror-less rooms and a central showcase area with mirrors and a comfy couch for anyone waiting. Normally, I'm not a fan of the communal try-on setup, but it worked because the space wasn't crowded. The lighting was also perfect. The store employees were plentiful and friendly. They each sported their own unique styles, so apparently there's no dress code at Aritzia. Waverly and Tyra were fantastic and helped me with sizing and styling. I went in looking for work pants and found a pair that fit nicely along with a cute multifunctional top. The pants ran small, so I sized up. I received a token for a beverage from the in-store coffee counter with my purchase, which was an unexpected treat. I loved the cute shopping bag too. Tips and Things to Know Before You Shop Here: * Sale items can only be returned for store credit. * Shop mid-week during off-peak hours, like I did, for a calmer shopping experience when the store isn't crowded.

Unfortunately, I didn't realise until after ordering that their refund policy only applies to US customers. When the dress arrived, it looked nothing like I expected and was a terrible fit. As with any online clothing purchase, you can't try it on before buying, so I requested a return for a refund. My request was refused simply because I live in Australia. What is even more disappointing is that I have since sent three separate emails through both their customer service email address and online enquiry form asking them to reconsider this policy. I have not received a single response. For a premium-priced clothing brand, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I genuinely don't understand how a fashion retailer expects international customers to shop with confidence when there is no option to return unsuitable items. I will never purchase from this brand again and strongly recommend that anyone outside the US thinks twice before ordering directly from them. The clothing is expensive for what it is, and the complete lack of customer care has been incredibly disappointing. There are plenty of other brands that value their international customers--shop with them instead.

When they didn't have another pair I wanted in stock, I chose to order those and have them shipped to the store. They were shipped from Spain on Monday and I was able to pick up in the store on Thursday, the same week. The only negative here was that I only knew they arrived at the store by checking the tracking number. It would have been nice to get a call directly from the store but they did warn me to keep track using the tracking number when I ordered them in the first place. And there was no way this sweater could be honestly resold. I then returned it. but I'd spent a couple of frustrating hours without a sweater...and a bad taste in my mouth. I wonder about The Billy Reid advice. I'm now suspicious that in fact someone else had already returned this sweater and it was shipped to me with the problem, hoping I wouldn't comment.
