The prime rib was nicely prepared and a surprisingly good value, while the avocado toast was fresh and tasty. Coronado Cafe isn't trying to be a fancy Vegas restaurant, and that's part of its appeal. It's a simple, comfortable restaurant serving good food at a good price with friendly service. Sometimes that's exactly what you want in Vegas. We'd definitely eat here again. read more

The eggs benedict was the worst we've ever seen. As soon as the waiter set the plate down I knew it wasnt going to be good. The sauce was so pasty, you could actually see it in the texture. I've been to Coronado Cafe at Southpoint many times and realized I've never reviewed it. We ordered from the Chinese Food Menu this visit. Raymund was our server and he's great; he is personable and attentive. The hostesses are also great, they are always welcoming and organized in getting customers seated efficiently. We started with Egg Flower Soup which we always like here, it is very flavorful. The Spring Rolls are good, they come 2 in an order. The Pork Egg Foo Young is a favorite of ours, especially the sauce, We also enjoyed the Combination Fried Rice. It has chicken, pork, and shrimp along with the veggies. I try to make their after midnight deal at least once every trip. The line is normally long but it moves pretty fast, the staff here do a great job of seating the late night diners pretty well. This time I even tried the shrimp cocktail. It was great for what it is, bay shrimp with some cocktail sauce and shredded iceberg lettuce, should be tried at least once. I got the old standby of new your steak, sunnyside eggs and hash browns. Wonderful to hit the spot before going to bed. Of all the times I've been here for the steak, this is the first time I got what I ordered. I always ask for medium rare steak and every time I get it overcooked, the cow is after all already dead...no sense in killing it any more. I don't want to take a chance to order it rare just in case they actually cook it right and I would prefer it be grilled a little longer. Thursday, 4-02-2026: We were on our way home and wanted to eat somewhere reasonably priced, which is very rare to find these days in Las Vegas. We got tired of paying so much money for mediocre food. The line was long on a Tuesday around 5pm. But the line moved fast. The service was......... I think that the server was ready to go on his lunch break so he wasn't very personable or friendly. The servers that took over while he was on his lunch break were equally monotone. It just didn't feel like a welcome environment. However the food was delicious. We shared a house chow mein, and a shrimp fried rice. The shrimp were plump and juicy. The chow mein did not have beef in it, and the pork was a little dry, but it was tails. The noodles were cooked just right. There are no takeout orders. And that is too bad because that is exactly what I would want to do to avoid the service we received. I left a cash tip. Since my prior review, my wife and I have been consistent regulars for the midnight specials. We even plan our days around it (early dinner at 4, gamble gamble gamble, midnight special, gamble, sleep, repeat) I ALWAYS get the 7oz NY steak eggs ($6.95 as of this writing, coming down from $7.49) medium rare, sunny-side-up, sourdough. The steaks nearly always perfectly cooked; not the most tender, but add a little salt pepper and yum. Dip that sourdough in the runny eggs. Ketchup on the hash browns. Now, they charge an arm and a leg for coffee, so we stick with the water. And watch those salt shakers, I swear they have xtra large holes and will spew salt like a vegas storm drain. Service, almost without exception prompt, courteous, on the ball. Lines form early, but really, if youre will to wait a bit (like 12:45am) no line). My family and I have frequented this establishment on numerous occasions, both in large and small groups. Today, we visited with a party of 15 individuals. We were seated quite promptly, and our drink orders were taken very quickly when we placed our food orders. We ordered several items, including French Onion Soup, a spaghetti dinner, a steak, and a BLT. The presentation of the dishes was acceptable. The spaghetti had a delicious flavor. However, the steak was slightly overcooked, and the French fries were saturated with the steak's juices. The BLT had an excellent flavor, but the French Onion Soup was somewhat unappetizing, to be frank. They did experience some difficulty in keeping our drinks refilled, which is understandable with such a large group. However, if you have visited here before, you would know that they typically have ample staff available, though perhaps not always working together as cohesively as possible. You truly can't beat the midnight steggs here. For $6.95, it's obviously not going to be the most high-quality meat but the value is just too good to pass up. On top of that, you get two eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. Perfect late-night comfort food, IMO. Line starts forming before midnight but it goes fast! This place is such a bizarre, beautiful post-rave find. This was one of the most absurd graveyard menus I've ever seen. The value here is genuinely insane. A half-pound cheeseburger with fries for less than a double double. the craziest one was a 7oz new york strip steak with two eggs, hash browns, and toast for under $7 this is definitely not a steakhouse. The steak and eggs were below average from places I've tried. The steak was tough and thinner than I wanted, so even though I ordered medium rare, it ate closer to medium. The hash browns were softer and mushier than I prefer, almost like rehydrated potatoes. The toast was spectacular. You get the option of rye wheat or sourdough and it's anll buttered. honestly, when you're eating this at like 3am after a long night, it absolutely hits. We also got the porterhouse, and that one was more of a flop. At around $23, it didn't feel like nearly the same steal as the steak and eggs. The mashed potatoes and gravy were bland and one dimensional, and the porterhouse itself came out more rare than medium rare, with the meat still clinging to the bone. Again, not a dealbreaker, but definitely a reminder that this place is about value and late-night comfort, nothing fancier. What really makes this place work is the combination of price, portions, and service. The staff was excellent, especially that late at night, and the whole place had a real local, old-school Vegas energy. It was still busy around 3 a.m., which honestly makes total sense. Came here on Christmas morning, it was so packed! But we got seated pretty quickly. The server was super polite and fast . The mozzarella sticks were good . I didn't really like the nachos, they were pretty basic. I wouldn't order it again. The pancakes were so good and fluffy. When we visited in late-September of 2025, they were running a nightly steak special - either a prime rib or porterhouse (with salad and side) for about $20. Even though the South Point does host a popular (and inexpensive) daily buffet, this eatery is a great option for those desirous of a more traditional sit-down-but-casual dining experience. Additionally, this is also the spot where the outstanding midnight-to-6am jaw-dropping deals such as steak and eggs ($7.45), half-pound cheeseburgers ($5.45), shrimp cocktails ($4.45), etc. are served. Surprisingly, the cafe also provides an additional menu dedicated to Asian cuisine. My wife is a big fan of walnut shrimp, so our second night we shed our steak-loving carnivore skins and returned to sample this fair. Besides our aforementioned main dish, we added some spring rolls and barbecued pork appetizers and then split it all between our party of three. While we enjoyed our selections, we were amused to take note of other patrons approaching this menu in a similar "split-'em-up" fashion. We left stuffed, satisfied, and impressed at how good it all was! The one drawback of the Coronado Cafe can be its wait time for seating. This is especially true on weekends and the beginning of their nightly midnight-to-six special block. During these times, expect the wait line to curve beyond the reception area and out around the restaurant proper. Through it all, the cafe staff maintain pleasant and efficient service - though it can be difficult to flag one down, as they all are in a rush ensuring those hungry folk on the outside are making it in as soon as possible. If you're craving some late night eats, check this place out. They have a graveyard menu ranging from burgers to steak. Graveyard Menu is for 21+ ...the younger ones will have to order from regular menu. We got there at about 1130pm and a line was already forming. We ate 3 dinner meals here over a few days. First night dinner. The 16 oz porterhouse steak special & prime rib french dip. Sooooo gooood. 2nd dinner we have Chinese food, which was wonderful. 3 dinner I had the open-faced turkey sandwich. It was horrible. Bland no flavor from the turkey to the gravy. Mash potatoes wasn't good and the stuffing they serve with it was gross. My partner had the turkey dinner special. She said it was really good. But you could tell it was thicker slice turkey She liked her yams and her green beans and all that. Service is always great here.
