My first (and probably only, ever) experience with Corona was a Bite Squad delivery. I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas with a small side of cheese dip and a large Pico de Gallo, as well as 2 sides of sour cream. First, the sizes and prices were all over the map. The large Pico was the same size as the SMALL cheese dip; the sour creams were just tiny to-go containers and the two of them cost almost as much as the Pico de Gallo despite constituting about 1/4 of its size. To be fair, both the cheese dip and the Pico were good. Unfortunately, the enchiladas were NOT. Perhaps if I'd had them in the restaurant they would have been, but by the time they arrived they were cold (despite the Bite Squad app telling me they were ready just minutes before alerting me that the driver was on their way - and the trip from the restaurant to my home was under ten minutes). That, and the sauce was...curdled, or something. They looked inedible, and they tasted nearly inedible as well. Oh, and I'd asked for double rice on the side, NO BEANS, and received ONLY refried beans. So. Simply put, there are enough Mexican restaurants in Greenville that I doubt I'll order from or visit Corona in the future. read more

Whe had dinner there last night. We t ordered the Texas Fajitas for 2,cheese dip,cheese and bean dip. The Fajitas were good. It's not my favorite place for Fajitas. They were good but the portion was much smaller than our normal place. Aka Papa s and Beer. Service for refills on drinks was good but never offered more chips after we ran out. Another great Mexican restaurant in the Upstate! Compared to similar places, this is one of the more aesthetically pleasing Mexican Restaurants. I had "arroz con pollo" and it was exactly what I would expect - delish. I also tried the fajitas and beans from my husband's plate, which were also very good. The kids meal portions were pretty generous too. If SC Mexican is new to you, this is an absolute must and it will rock your world. Employees were very hard to talk to since they spoke very little English. We went there because they use to have a good happy hour for drinks. They didn't seem to know if they had a happy hour or not and actuated like they didn't really care if we were satisfied with what they charged us.. I felt like they were charging us for regular price and no the happy hour price. I think the manager was there when I expressed my concern, and he went and hid when we were leaving. Where do I start....? We return back to work with our takeout order. We had two orders of "two tacos with rice and beans" one beef burrito and taco with rice and beans. The taco see separately belongs to the Burrito plate with rice and beans. I called to advise them we only received one of the "two taco" plates. The guy who I spoke with basically called me a liar and told me he put the tacos and rice and beans in there himself. REALLY? Our lunch group consists of four medical professionals that have better things to do then LIE about not receiving our food. Next, the food was so bland, if I would have scooped the beans right out of the Old El Paso can they would have had more flavor. Bravo on making refried mush!! Your chips were over fried and hard, your queso was a like Elmer's glue beginning to dry, except Elmer's glue probably has some kind of flavor. Our waiter refused to serve us after the hostess moved us to a new table (the table behind us were leaning over into our booth and had a toddler with them who kept touching the back of our heads). The hostess was very polite and told us we could move to a booth across from them that had more space. We did, and we waited for 35 minutes without being served. The hostess came back and apologized and asked the server to please take our orders, and he got angry with her and refused to serve us (no water cups, nothing) so we ended up leaving. I would say this is between a 3 and 4. They have pretty good food. My family usually ends up coming here if we are craving some Mexican food. I love the shredded chicken enchiladas. They pack it with chicken! The fajitas are pretty decent. I got the fried ice cream and was a little disappointed to find out it was just a ball of ice cream coated in cinnamon corn flakes in a fried tortilla bowl. So it wasn't really "fried" ice cream. This is a pretty standard family run style Mexican restaurant. They have the usual Tex-Mex combinations that most places have and it is very good. They do have a good fajitas value for sharing and the tacos al pastor are also pretty good. Like many Mexican restaurants, the menu is extensive. Every combination known to mankind and just in case you can also make your own combination. They are not stingy with the Monterey Jack cheese, it is good, but overwhelms the chili relleno. Not really in a bad way, but you get much more flavor of the melty cheese with a hint of chili than having more chili flavor. There are a few menu items that are "fancier" such as the shrimp cocktail, which is more of a ceviche style dish. They have a Mexican stew option and a Parillada option among other seafood, steak and chicken dishes. I am usually here with my family and it is pretty affordable. The salsa is good, not chunky, but flavorful and there is a mild and hot version offered. For the hotheads, you can get an extremely hot salsa option. My oldest teen aged son loves to order three tacos to go, for like $5 and that comes with full burrito size tortillas (soft shell taco) and a full order of chips and salsa. For him it is a big snack. I decided to surprise my date by putting together a last minute romantic Mexican (his favorite) dinner date at my home. I called in a take-out order for the first time from Corona Mexican Restaurant, since it is right around the corner from my home. I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived to pick up about 5 minutes earlier than the estimated time given, I was happy and amazed that it was already ready to go. On my way home, I was pleased with myself for still having a little time to spare before my date was to arrive. Once home, I started to arrange the food on plates, so all I would have to do is heat it up in the microwave once he arrived. As I was taking the food out of the container, I noticed the inside of the burritos was definitely NOT what I ordered...I started to panic that the most important part of my dinner date plans were ruined. So, I immediately picked up the phone, called Corona, explained to them my ordered was wrong as well as my dilemma. The man on the phone was more understanding than expected. I was told they would fix it over correctly this time, right away. I arrived 5 minutes later to pick up the food, not only were they already bringing it to the front very hot and ready as I was walking in, I was also offered a gift certificate in the total amount of the food I ordered for all the trouble. My last minute romantic dinner date at home, went very well. The food was really good and prepared exactly as initially ordered. I had two beef burritos with extra melted shredded cheese and salsa. The beef was very flavorful and the cheese was perfectly melted over the entire well portion sized burritos. My date had two steak burritos, with extra queso only. He said they were the best he has had in a longtime. I also ordered a side of lettuce, which was amazingly fresh and crunchy considering it was take-out. Usually, at most places, a take-out order of side lettuce would be warm, wilted and inedible. The chips and salsa were just ok. The chips were a little hard and stale. The salsa could've been less watery, a bit more flavorful and more of it. All and all...I rated it a four because of the customer service, for rectifying their mistake quickly and professionally. I ordered online Thursday 01/21/2021. I received and email verification and price of $21.76. When I arrived to pick up and pay for my order I was told the total was $28.16. When I questioned the difference I was told that the prices online were wrong and when ordering online the cost were more than ordering in the Restaurant. This is NOT OK. We liked Coronas and visited or ordered for pick up some 40 - 50 times a year. I usually pay online but I was in a hurry and decided to pay at the store. Needless to say this was my last visit to one of your restaurants. I would like a explanation of why the difference in prices. Very average experience. Everything was fine, nothing was great. The salsa was a little watery and not overly flavorful, but decent. I got chicken nachos that were fine, though the meat could have been better. The service was a bit spotty. The food wasn't expensive but wasn't exactly cheap either.
