I had a nice time with my daughter on cornucopia's dinner cruise. I will give the positives and the negatives. Pros- -Great view of the city and especially seeing the Statue of Liberty up close. -Food was good-favorite was this Hawaiian chicken. -DJ did a nice job playing music through the decades. (Though there is another not so good part to this below) Ship was nice enough...didn't have any expectations so it didn't wow me but didn't disappoint either. -You sit with people you don't know and can make friends/socialize if you choose. -Wait staff were friendly and photographer was around a lot for pictures that you can purchase at the end. Cons -you can't really get a good view of outside from inside where you are sitting and definitely can not get pictures due to the reflection and lighting inside. The only way to see anything clearly or take any pictures is to walk up a lot of stairs and go outside (not good during freezing cold winter days) That was disappointing because I would have liked to be able to see more without having to run inside because it was too cold to stand outside. -price is hefty. Even getting Groupon is misleading because you wind up having to pay more once you actually register for a spot on their actual website. Wound up costing me a lot more than I thought it would. -dessert was pathetic. Seriously. Dinner was a long buffet area in the middle and then dessert was in a corner that nobody knew about unless you found out on your own. It was one little square table with 3 cakes and someone who had to serve it to you so they could monitor the amount you took. They cut each slice into half so it was obvious they did not have the appropriate quantity of dessert to accommodate the guests. It was actually ridiculous and unacceptable. -Music started out great with the DJ playing all the fun dance music from the 70's and 80's and then moved on to the 90's and then to ALL Hispanic music. I'm sorry but that is not ok. Yes it was upbeat and fun to watch all the fabulous Latinos take the dance floor but it was such a small dance floor that there wasn't room for anyone and it was obvious that the second half of the cruise was for the Hispanic population since they were on the dance floor. Not right for the rest of the guests though. -When you go on the ship, you have to stand outside in line and one party at a time gets to go in and be seated, which means you stand outside for a while in the cold. There is a very steep ramp to go down and then back up at the end which is not good for anyone with medical issues or back problems or disabilities. It was somewhat dangerous in the wet icy conditions so just be aware. Also the same holds true for having to walk the many stairs to go up two levels to get outside to see anything. -On a personal note, I brought my 17 year old and she has had anxiety in the past but was excited to go. When we were seated we were out with two older couples and my daughter became anxious about it and asked if we could get a table by ourselves. The hostess said she would see what she could do (it WAS possible just inconvenient for them). She never came back, did not have the courtesy of following up to make sure my daughter was ok staying where we were). No it is not their issue if my daughter has anxiety but it is not ok for her to say she would figure out another spot for us and then just ignore the request. Could improve that aspect of customer service. Would I go again? I think this is more of a one time thing if it's something you are wanting to do for the experience and the view but a nice evening for dinner in a unique setting if you don't care as much about the other things and just are there for a dinner out on the town. read more

Absolutely awful. I purchased a Groupon for this cruise line, and this website decided to charge an extra 120 dollars in fees on top of what I paid Groupon for already. They only charge these absurd fees on Groupon. I called the customer service line to get an explanation, and the representative hung up on me without providing an explanation. We left from Perth Amboy on a Saturday evening at the end of Spring. The weather was a bit windy but the temperature was good. There was a private party on the upper level so we dined and danced on the lower level. The DJ was ok and the crowd was mixed with families, couples and friends. The food was ok- same for the drinks. Their bathrooms were so clean. I would recommend this as a great date night for the change of scenery and photo ops. But dining with strangers isn't so fun. It felt like we had crashed someone's party but we couldn't figure out who was celebrating. Lol. I think a private party is the way to go. They had the entire floor to themselves so it was more intimate. However, a few of them did find their way down to mingle with us. I was pretty disturbed when a stranger crashed my photo and held onto me like we were sisters. It was obvious that she had too much to drink. So you might want to be careful to not go overboard with the drinking before you end up overboard the ship. Lol. What I would change: the decor. It's giving an old school events venue vibe so it needs an update on the interior colors, furniture and flooring. They could also use some fun stations for photo ops and maybe a spotlight and shout out for special celebrations. They could also try themed nights for dress codes and ambiance. As for the exterior, I appreciate the antique look so I wouldn't change anything there. But there were many missed opportunities to set up the outdoor deck spaces for photo ops and more comfortable seating along the sides. read more

9/27/25 I booked this trip for a family of 5. Although the views were excellent the ship is def worn down. The pros: Great views of NYC The cons: 1. Way OVERPRICED. Def not worth the price. 2. The server we had was very good, but they stretch them thin with tables. 2. Buffet very limited in choices and the chicken and fish were a 6/10. 3. Dessert was PITIFUL, def the worst in regard to food. It was basically a Walmart chocolate cake they cut into small pieces. They ran out of the cheesecake and the chocolate and vanilla cake were def cheap and you can tell on the taste. 4. I already knew that liquor was extra charge, but they charge extra for soda and juice. A small Diet Coke is $3.60. Again all overpriced. Also, NONE OF THE PRICES ARE listed on a menu that the first indication the whole cruise is questionable. Pitcher of sangria was a whopping $45 and too sweet. 5. The "dance floor" was a 10x10 stretch way too small. 6. The Dj felt like someone hired a "I know this kid that can mix" there was no real "entertainment" of getting the people excited to be there. Very bland. 7. Way too many rules for cancelation or weather problems. Bottom line: NO REFUNDS EVER, even if it's their fault. The food was tasty and good. The service was horrendous. We asked the waitress for water 2-3x and she failed to bring it. We asked the person in charge for water and it took her 10 minutes to bring it to the table. The waitress was extremely awkward and would not speak until someone acknowledged she was there. She kept insisting we order drinks - one person in our party didn't want anything - stop pressuring us. The cherry on top of all of this is that at the end of the meal they bring the receipt for the drinks and they charged us a $6 Delivery fee for the absentminded waitress walking 20 feet to bring the drinks to the table - Ridiculous!!!! I attended a brunch cruise with Cornucopia and had a very disappointing and concerning experience. The food options were extremely limited and appeared cheap and off the shelf. They were also poorly prepared. Both the fish and the chicken were undercooked. This wasn't a subjective opinion - multiple guests noticed and reported the issue to staff during the event, not after the fact. Unfortunately, I became sick as a result. Following the cruise, I contacted the company directly. The organizer of the event I attended also contacted Cornucopia on my behalf. I was told I would hear back from a manager, but neither I nor the event organizer ever received a response. No follow-up. No accountability. This indicates that the company is aware there are issues and chooses not to address them or communicate with customers once payment has been collected. Given the food safety concerns and the lack of response afterward, I would not recommend this experience and would caution others to be very careful, especially when it comes to dining onboard. read more

We took the cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary. On the positive side we will say that we enjoyed the service of the stuff. They all were terrific. Smiling and ready to please. The host was personable and checked in with us often. We were offered a bottle of champagne as well. And the bar was great to have. We also enjoyed the fireworks. A perfect way to watch them. On the negative side; The quality and selection of the food. Salad and fruit were good, but chicken was dry, roast beef was not soft and hard to chew, bread was not fesh. Did not expect to be served macaroni and cheese for what we paid for. The music: It was not our cup of tea. Too loud, and pop. This was the highlight of our trip to NYC. We booked the cruise via groupon and it was worth every penny. We took a taxi to Hoboken and had a blast on this cruise. Hoboken is a cute little town with pretty Christmas lights in the months leading up to the holidays and it might be worth walking around before boarding the cruise ship. On board the ship we were seated with a few other couples in our age range and they were all really nice. They were all local to the areas around Hoboken and we got along great. The Food: The food onboard the ship was delicious. This was eve best food we had the entire time we were in New York. My fiancé loves cheesecake and they had a delicious cheesecake he could enjoy for dessert too. Entrees included a buffet of salmon, chicken, vegetables, pasta, potatoes, beans, brisket, and lots more. The Music: The music was fantastic! We danced all night long to Latin music, the oldies, 90's, and current pop songs. We definitely got a workout! The Cruise: The cruise takes you along the Hudson River and had amazing views of the Statue of Liberty. We got some amazing photos in front of the Statue of Liberty and couldn't recommend this cruise enough. It's absolutely a must-see activity for locals or anyone visiting New York City. RUN AWAY!!!! I suffered a sever allergic reaction on board this past Saturday (they had to turn the boat around and get me an ambulance-they do not allow you to choose what you eat). i explained my food allergy but they still served me something that made me get close to anaphalaxis. As I was lying on the floor struggling--the manager was standing over me telling the (concerned) passengers, "we do not know if it a food allergy." Barbara (soulless human) never checked on me--just talked shit about me to everyone on board. the staff on board informed our group, "this is not the first time this has happened." I called the following day to speak with a manager. Can you believe the man on the phone had the audacity to yell at me?!? He "promised" I would get a call 2 days later. Its not been 4 days and I have not received a call back. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS SHADY ASS COMPANY- give it to another cruise line who actually cares about its customers. This company and this moldy, old boat need to be shut down for human safety. read more

So first of all, their groupon is really deceptive. When you purchase the Groupon, you think all the costs are covered, right? WRONG! There is an additional administrative fee you don't find out about until after you've already purchased the vouchers. This amounts to 18% of the ORIGINAL ticket price, so for a group of 6 people, it came up to an additional $180!!! This is super deceptive. Also, they are requesting an additional $20 per person to book a private table. For a large group of 6, that's an additional $120 just to sit together? We were able to get on the boat relatively easily. Unfortunately they squeeze 10 people to a table that should only seat 8. This makes it very difficult for those who sit near the wall to get out to move about. They also don't let you bring strollers up, don't have booster seats, don't have high chairs -- essentially forget about bringing a baby on board. You will have to purchase a ticket for the baby to sit in a chair which will cost even more considering babies don't eat solid food! Once dinner service started, there was no discernable order to how people were called up to eat. The guy picked random tables in a random order. Also, for some reason they set the temperature of the deck to 80+ making it super hot when we were eating. This temperature stayed hot even when the DJ opened the dance floor. The food is only ok. It's a buffet so you get buffet food... slightly bland and overcooked. Not terrible but just not good either. There were two upper decks. The top completely open with tables -- nice for good weather. This cruise was in November so it was a bit cold. The deck above dinner was not heated but was enclosed. This would have been the better spot for a dance floor. They also have you enter on the first deck but exit on the dinner deck above. My poor brother had to haul his baby stroller up the stairs as there is no elevator. This experience wasn't great, and I don't recommend as it was overpriced for what you get. I suggest going on a different dinner cruise that isn't this crowded! read more

.cannot begin to tell you what occurred last night. We boarded the boat first and sat at table 43, the silverware was backwards with the knife on the left and the forks backwards on the right. That should have been the first indication the night was going to suck. I asked Ronaldo for a bottle of prosecco and my bf ordered a drink. We were told the ship didnt carry Prosecco. I said I saw it online you do. After a few minutes back and forth I stood up to ask the man still checking people in, if there was prosecco to purchase. He told me yes and we ordered a bottle yet waited 35 minutes for my BF drink Later we went upstairs with photographer and took photos. When we went back to the table others had salads and pasta, we had nothing. We asked but he didn't comprehend. Another waiter possible assistant brought out salad and ICE-cold pasta. At this point I had it and went down to the bar to speak with a manager. She sent Michelle up to us who brought us hot pasta and my boyfriend's drink. All this time being ignored by Ronaldo. We had empty water glasses the entire night. He never filled them. I have photos of me holding the glasses upside down and empty. Our dinner was brought to us by Michelle and Carmen. The table next to us (table 44) received their cake before their cold dinner arrived which they sent back. Mind you all 5 or 6 tables had received entrees and were done with dinner except table 44!!! We now see Ronaldo serving everyone dessert, yet he never even came to our table. My boyfriend had to get up to go get us our own cake off a tray near the front of the ship. Ronald never cleared our table, I had to keep putting the empty dishes on the empty table behind me. Michelle and Carmen had us and the other couples go downstairs for the last 45 minutes of the cruise. While speaking to the others who had been moved downstairs, they all had the same complaints. One table waited 55 minutes for a drink from Ronaldo! The final straw was Ronaldo told Table 44 we were rude, and he was not going to acknowledge nor serve us. Noree a guest of your cruise (at table 44) stated to him, that is your job you have to, and he said n"o I will not serve them". Thankfully she waited to tell us this after we got off the ship, or there would have been hell to pay. I spent 250.00 on tickets, we bought 3 or 4 photos @75.00 to 100.00, $85.00 on drinks and additional tips for Carmen and Michele. Spending over $425 to get treated like this is unacceptable. Since I am a business owner, I have refrained from bad reviews on numerous platforms, reporting this to my credit card to stop payment and I will give you the opportunity to correct this expeditiously. Ronaldo needs to be terminated. Cornucopia REFUSED TO refund us 275.00! read more

Service was non-existent. I bought the tickets for my mom, aunt, and grandmother to enjoy as they were visiting from Ireland. I'd preordered them a bottle of wine, which was not on the table when they arrived, but received an hour after they were seated and only after they'd asked four different people. They ordered a second bottle of wine (white wine, delivered warm) which came an hour and a half after ordering. On top of all that, they were one of the last people to leave the cruise and, after having no one come to settle the bill for the extra bottle they assumed that the card on file to purchase the tickets would be charged and left. I received a bunch of phone calls while in bed in NH from a number that was said to be registered in CA. I sent this unknown number to voicemail as I don't know anyone in CA and it was after 10:30pm on a Sunday night. Instead of leaving a voicemail and explaining the situation, they called me FIVE TIMES in a row. When I answered the call the woman on the other line only said "You forgot to pay your bill". When I asked what they were calling about, the woman became rude, until I told her I had no idea why she was calling me about an unpaid bill as I was in NH all day. Then she hung up on me only to call me back again and give the phone to her manager to explain the situation. Honestly, I should've blocked the number after the third phone call with no voicemail being left. The lack of professionalism that I experienced from the staff and I wasn't even there for the experience is beyond me. When I spoke to my family, they said that the service was nonexistent. Receiving a bottle of wine that was PREPAID after dinner has already been served is not acceptable. When I purchased the tickets I requested a window seat with a nice view as family are visiting from Ireland. When they arrived, they were seated at a table in the middle of the floor, away from the windows, by the back door. When my mom asked if they could sit in a window seat as the request had been made, they were told no because they "made the reservation through Groupon". If you book an experience, it shouldn't matter where you book it, you paid for the experience. I am completely disgusted by the experience I received and horrified that after spending so much money, through Groupon or otherwise, my mom, aunt, and grandmother did not receive the service and experience they were advertised. On top of all that, instead of letting my mom settle the bill the next day as she was driving home at 11pm, they hassled me into paying it over the phone because they "needed to closed the tab". It should not be my problem that these servers left my mom and family with so little attention or information (saying "please settle the bill at the bar" when delivering the second bottle of wine would've sufficed) that now they're short the $50. Either close the till $50 short or let her settle it in the morning. After paying over the phone, the receipt showed an add on of a 20% GRATUITY CHARGE! Do not charge automatic gratuity if you can't deliver! read more

We attended a wedding at this debacle. This is such a horribly managed business (Destiny Yacht) the manager/owner whatever ,the older gentleman with the dirty button up shirt. This boat has been poorly maintained due to lack of air conditioning, the ceiling leaking everywhere, the food if that's what you call it. I can't fault them for serving food I don't particularly care for, but it was tasty. They had a DJ, but there was a bit too much 80's power ballads going on for my taste. The 4th of July cruise was pretty terrible. There was no direction upon check in at Perth Amboy. And no direction when the bus dropped us off in Hoboken. The company could have had at least ONE person direct 2 bus loads of people? We were on the boat for almost 1.5 hours before the bar opened, and then another 30 mins before food was served. Food was good, I'll give them that. But this is where the cruise took a terrible turn. During our dinner service, the boat docked in NY to board another 700 people. Now the people who paid $200 for this cruise suddenly had to fight crowds if they wanted to see the fireworks. It became a ghetto mob scene. Then, COVID aside, there was absolutely no security to manage the crowd/checking bags. And to top it off, the boat stopped far from the fireworks so we didn't even get to enjoy the reason we all were on that boat in the first place. I'll throw in some good points though. We enjoyed the company of the people we shared space with. They had 3 types of dessert. The $200 ticket came with an open bar to drink away your sorrows of this cruise. read more

a night to remember celebrated my belated 60th bday with 9 friends , despite with ear infection , the rocking of the boat while on dock got worsen and asked the lady in charge to be moved because we were situated at he end of the boat. She just said that she can put us at lower level, really? she could have done something for us and not very accommodating at all. Food was good and did not try there dessert because i had my bday cake bought by my special friend Rose. My only suggestion with the cruise line is to clean up the bathroom, it was not clean at all and with delta virus being rampant not a single sanitizer is seen inside the ship . The ship needs some upgrades , very old and tired. This was my second time to sail at the Cornucopia Destiny and don't know if i will book it again. i like the cruise in the NY city side because we were able to be closed into the Statue of Liberty. First time going here. I saw a deal on groupon. They boarded at 6:30pm we got there a few mins early so they told us to go inside one of ships and wait until they open. I havent gone on a dinner cruise for a long time. It was a rainy day so we didnt see any sunset. The food was great. I didnt like the chocolate cale and the green beans tasted like it was the frozen veggies in a bag. The short rib had a ton of fat in it, to make it look like you are getting a big piece of meat, they shouldve taken the fat out but it is soft and melts in your mouth. Such a lovely evening from the staff the DJ to the delicious food & dessert. We had a blast on the dance floor with all the other cruisers celebrating weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries. Their was a great male dancer who kept the dance floor packed. In a nutshell... Get there early to choose good seats. It's a buffet, and the food is just OK. Your basics like salad, chicken, beef, fish and carbs. The servers are oblivious. If you want a drink you have to go up to the bar and ask. Servers are not attentive. Manager was nice and accommodating. Crowd is very mixed. We felt overdressed. There were people with dirty sneakers and hoodies on. We had fun dancing even though not many people were dancing. Views of the city were great! Dj was Ok, but we made it fun anyway by dancing and being silly by ourselves. Yes, it's a bit overpriced and we have been on better ones in Ny that cost more. Wouldn't do it again on this cruise line and I don't recommend you do it either. read more
