However, after paying for our alcohol, the owner - WITHOUT A MASK ON - asked the cashier to print out a copy of our receipt. Without asking us, he began to dig through the alcohol in our cart to make sure that we weren't stealing anything. At one point, when I mentioned to my cousin that we still needed to grab the ice that we paid for on the way out, he accused us of not paying for the ice and began to count our alcohol again. He claimed that we already had 8 items in our cart when my cousin politely tried to explain that we only had 7 (the 8th being the ice we still needed to grab). After checking our cart multiple times (throwing the cases back into our cart haphazardly), he finally realized that we were right and he told us he'd bring the ice to our car. The entire time his mask wasn't on. I felt too intimidated to ask him to put his mask on and overall just completely uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. This situation could have been handled so much more respectfully. Later that week we had a power outage and my dad ran out to get ice. Lavallette Liquors told my dad over the phone that they had ice but when he drove there they refused to sell him ice unless he bought alcohol. I am so disappointed with the service here. I'm writing this review in the hopes that the owner may re-evaluate how he runs his business.
