Wifey and I saw this place yesterday and decided to give them a try. We showed up about 5:40 and…read morewere seated right away. The hostess sat us in the bar area, which was fine, but seemed an odd choice. Our waitress came over for a drink order before I had even picked up the menu. My wife quickly ordered the Ginger Minty Paloma and I had an Old Fashioned. Wifey's drink was amazing and tasted like 14 more. Mine was just ok, but when you drink them fairly regularly there's not much you can do to make them 'different.' We decided to just split our food. We ordered a Wedge Salad - they put a balsamic glaze on it and it was REALLY GOOD. This came very quickly. We split The Rocco Pizza - vodka sauce, cheese and pieces of fried chicken cutlet. Unfortunately, this was a miss for us. The taste was fine, but neither of us liked the crust and wasn't hot enough. Didn't seem like your normal 'brick oven pizza.' We also split a 'small plate' of linguini and clams. This was just ok as well. The fresh clams were great, but the others were pretty chewy. The whole plate also needed salt. Service was pleasant and fairly quick, but the food was overall just ok. The place itself looked like it would be pretty fun if I was in my 20s. There was a band setting up and I bet the place gets pretty loud.

The food here was actually pretty good- fresh, flavorful, and came out as expected. I ordered the…read morelamb chops with grits and I will say - the grits were the best I've ever had. The crowd was mostly over 60 which is nice since no kids were there but I'm 45 and it wasn't as lively as I would have liked. The bands playing were good too but the atmosphere felt a little flat. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. Not my cup of tea for hanging out but I'd go back for dinner.

More sweet than citrusy, but refreshing and would be more balanced had I ordered the large instead of a medium. 4/5 I got the Honey Butter Corndog (3/5) and the 6 piece Soy Garlic Wings (2/5, not pictured), while my friends got other items to try as well. From what we could tell, it seemed like reheated frozen food...which was upsetting. I could tell the corndog I had was very similar to the ones from HMart... The wings were extremely salty, and very soy sauce heavy. The two items I got ran me about $20+ (just a corndog and 6 wings) I would not go for the food (there is no need to try the food), but would return for the drinks/cafe at the front since that seemed promising. The selection of snacks/goods seemed abundant as well--candies, chips, drink fridges, and ice cream (note here that we did not peruse the smoke section, but we did see a cigar display room in the back). The ramen station is what it is--$7, large selection, extra add on for an egg and or a Kraft single. The staff we interacted with were very nice and kind. As we visited to try the food/drink service, the review reflects that. The place also offers a cigar lounge and gaming room that we did not try.

The prices in this place are high. My wife mentioned to the waiter he forgot our drinks. He told my wife he forgot to take his Ritalin today as far as being one of the best Italian restaurants in Monmouth County. This is far from it. The food was impeccable, and I must say, they truly do their meats extremely well. Here are some of the things we ordered. Please bear in mind that we had it family style, and the portions are humongous. - Antipasto - They truly had a sublime selection of Italian-style cured meats, which included Prosciutto di Parma, Soppressata, Mortadella, fresh Mozzarella Pearls, Red Onions, salad underneath, and balsamic glaze drizzled over the top, providing a sweet-tart contrast. It was a very nice high-end charcuterie platter. 5/5 Stars. - Fried Calamari - They lightly floured and fried it. Personally, I preferred it to be fried a bit more. 4/5 Stars. - Eggplant Rollatini - stuffed with ricotta, topped with marinara, and melted mozzarella. The eggplant was sliced thinly and was generously stuffed. 4/5 Stars. - Penne Vodka - They were in a light tomato pancetta cream sauce. I personally preferred a little spicier. 4/5 Stars. - Orrechiette pasta served with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and sausage, broccoli rabe, and basil in garlic & oil. They overcooked the sausage, but regardless, it truly was exceptional. 5/5 Stars - Shrimp scampi - It was overcooked. 3.5/5 Stars. - Boneless Roasted Chicken Cacciatore - the chicken was so tender and juicy. 5/5 Stars. - Pork Loin Giambotta - They grilled it to perfection, and it was still juicy. This dish was accompanied by mushrooms, onions, and peppers. 5/5 Stars. - Mashed red potatoes - Creamy and smooth. 5/5 Stars. The service was impeccable. They constantly came over to see if there was anything we needed. Plenty of wine and beer flowing, exchanging of dirty dishes for clean dishes, and ensuring we have everything we need.
