I had Cornerstone replace the roof on my house in 2007, after obtaining bids from several companies. The company made multiple recommendations for me to consider in order to improve the existing roof system, ventilation, etc. They were very proactive in helping me make informed decisions and as a result, the new roof system was far superior to the existing and installed at a very competitive price. The experience was one of the best I have had with a residential contractor. Unfortunately, some minor leaks developed after about 6 years and I contacted the company to inform them. They have a 20 year warranty on workmanship, and they immediately sent a representative out to inspect. They confirmed that the problem was due to some problems with nailing (I have an exceptionally challenging roof in terms of roofing installation, with many transitions that are difficult to apply roofing and flashing to). Within a week, the company sent out a crew to correct the problem, at no charge. If you want to really know a company's true character, observe how they deal with warranty work. Cornerstone scored 10 out of 10 in terms of service, and I highly recommend them. read more

Asked for a quote with my metal roof. They replied promptly and told me they do not handle metal roofs, but gave me a great referral to a company that helped me out. Above and beyond customer service and I'm not even a customer. Thanks! read more

Clean, quick, courteous and lived up to what they said they would do. Highly recommend this company.

I was quite impressed with the hard-working crew. They were responsive and courteous to my questions, and the workmanship is great! We also found their pricing to be competitive, and cleanup each day and at the end of the project was great. Very pleasant folks to deal with, from bidding, to the office, through the work crew and project manager. I highly recommend them. read more

I used Yelp and two other online services to identify and contact Cornerstone Roofing and two other roofing companies. Each representative arrived within a week to visually review our roof and take pictures of the areas needing repair. Each verbally reviewed the pictures with me before subsequently submitting independently written proposals that were nearly identical in scope and implementation dates, etc. However, the pricing and customer satisfaction comparison showed Cornerstone to be 10% less expensive and to also be rated 10% higher by its customers. Sam, Cornerstone's repair manager, kept in touch with me via email and phone to ensure the work was started as promised. Sam also called me shortly after completion to verify the work had been done to my satisfaction. When I mentioned to him that some old broken shingle chips were visible from the ground and I was worried that a hard rain might cause them to plug up my gutter downspouts, he had the same workman return the next day at no extra charge to remove the loose debris. read more

Cornerstone put a new roof on my house in 2003. At the time I called four companies for estimates. Two came out and because of their people, cost and recommendations, received the job. They did everything they promised on time and in a professional manner. Several years later I had a leak that I thought was a roofing problem. Cornerstone repair people came out several times before finding the leak in a window seal that had nothing to do with them. They sealed it free of charge. Recently I had another issue with venting in the attic that I needed changed out. Once again, two cornerstones repairmen came out and in a fast, polite and professional manner did what they said they'd do. Call this company if you need work they are excellent roofing contractors. read more

This company kicked my clients to the curb all because I ask them to start a little sooner than a month and half out. The gal on the phone seemed to run constant interference so I could never speak to James the owner. Since this was a condition of sale they jeopardized my sellers ability to close the sale. I will never recommend them to anyone and will the other Windermere brokers in my office know of their unreliable and pathetic behavior. We found a great roofing company (Northwest Roofing) who matched their bid and started within 3 days of calling them. That part was lucky as they are swamped right now. read more

Cornerstone was the most professional company I dealt with and the proposal was excellent, far beyond what I received from (4) other bids. And the installation crew was great. Job well done! read more

Everything was completed on time - actually 1 month early, because they were able to find an empty slot in the schedule. QA Inspector spent the better part of a full day completing the finishing touches. read more

Your entire team was great! Juan did a great job on the detail/ final inspection. Very pleased with all aspects of the job. Thanks!

Quality workmanship and clear communication, from estimate through cleanup. Cornerstone runs a smooth operation. After reading their reviews and seeing how thoroughly the estimate was completed, with various options at several price-points, we didn't even get a second opinion. Other reviews suggest that Cornerstone might not be the least expensive roofing company in Seattle but I'm happy to pay a bit more for a hassle-free and professional experience. read more

Our experience was so exceptional from start to finish. Kristy provided incredible service from our first call to schedule an estimate to the last detail of coordinating our project. Dave, our estimator, made the decision process so easy for us. He's incredibly patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. We never felt pressured into any decisions, and he answered all of our questions in a very timely manner. We felt comfortable and informed with our choices. When it came time for our project to start, Kristy was great about keeping us updated on dates. Craig made sure to update us on how things were progressing (and kept us in the loop as we had to reschedule with that crazy snow storm). It was so nice not to have to chase down updates. Craig was always proactive. He also responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had. Honestly, CSR could write the book on customer service. We cannot say enough good things, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend CSR. Re-roofing was such a big decision for us. CSR made it stress-free and actually enjoyable! read more

This is the third time I've used Cornerstone, and second roof replacement they've done for us (the first was in 2004). Their quote includes photos and details of the work that is typed (not hand-written) and easy to understand. This time around, we converted from cedar shake to shingle, and went with the Northgate SBS for its flexibility. The job needed fascia boards, an entirely new venting system (going from shake to shingle requires smart vents and ridge venting b/c of the roof design), and a section of roof needed 4" polyiso insulation. Their price was reasonable, and unlike other roofers, they were able to accommodate the additional carpentry work needed. The timing was not ideal because we were late in requesting quotes, and they were busy until the end of October; however I wasn't too concerned because they typically use a large crew (4 roofers). It rained the Monday they were due to begin, so work was delayed one day. They were able to get the tear-off done, decking and underlayment down before it began raining again Thursday. When they discovered insulation in one area, we were able to drop the polyiso job, so that saved money. The roof was completed by Friday, cleanup was finished and the dumpster gone the following Monday. The gutters were completed Tuesday by Gutter King, whom they regularly use (they would have been installed earlier, but we had opted to not schedule a gutter replacement at the same time --in retrospect I would have done this). The new roof looks great, and includes roof anchors. Overall, they were professional and accommodating, and got the job done timely AND under budget--no different than when I first used them 11 years ago. No wonder that they've been around for so long! read more

Great customer service!! I had three sky lights installed on my roof and they didn't fiddle around. The service was fast and efficient. read more

Cornerstone Roofing did the roof replacement of our home in August 2020 and I highly recommend them. We had the pleasure of meeting James at the beginning and during our roof replacement proposal process; he is professional, cordial and very easy to communicate with and will answer all your questions honestly and up front. The office staff is equally as great - I visited their office and had very friendly and professional interactions with the staff including Sara. Our project was carried out like clockwork and my interactions with all involved were Five-Star. Thank you Kristy for your email communications leading up to, during and after the project; Thank you Craig and Oswaldo's team who performed the roof work and to Juan Carlos who completed our inspection and Alberto who came by for final clean-up - it was so easy to be able to contact and communicate with all of them either while onsite during the project or by calling/messaging with Craig - they responded to all my questions and concerns and I would say in our case went "above and beyond." We are very happy with the completed project, workmanship and our new replacement roof and are truly grateful to all of the Cornerstone Roofing team. read more

Had them out for a small roof repair. Roof vents and plumbing seals replaced. They were always on time and did everything they said they would. Have not had any rain yet to test repairs but it looks good and was a pleasure dealing with them. read more

Sam had come out and gave me a competitive quote. I chose to go with Cornerstone because he noticed and suggested some additional items to replace and showed they look after the details. The work was scheduled and we had an issue when the workers accidentally shattered the skylight when removing and damaged our stairs/handrails and walls. You might think that would be a negative, but Sam handled the issue with flying colors and was very accommodating in rectifying the issue. Everyone makes mistakes it's nice to find a company that cares, follows up and makes it right! read more

My husband and I hired Cornerstone to replace our dilapidated roof with a nice, new 50-year roof. We also had new gutters and downspouts installed, and can only say great things about the quality of their work. Before choosing Cornerstone, we had three other roofing companies come out to give us estimates - Cornerstone was not the least, nor were they the most expensive bid, but they presented themselves in such a professional manner and made us feel comfortable (polar opposite of our C.R. Boger experience). They started and finished the job on time, as well as cleaned up all debris from the old roof. We highly recommend them to anyone!! read more

CORNERSTONE ROOFING "CSR", Bothell, WA ... Installed March, 2008 for $14,375 + Tax I selected Cornerstone based on their write-up in the Seattle Times which included their recommendation by "Checkbook.org". I'm very disappointed with Cornerstone. Although the staff made a good sell for their services the results are disappointing. Without me checking to make sure that the contract was fulfilled, I believe that the end result would have been less than I paid for. I've spent considerable time fixing & repairing their errors and just plain workmanship problems. Post-installation problems discussed with the supervisor were not fully addressed; I guess I should have been more assertive. Cornerstone guarantees their "Workmanship" for 20 years but only covers "leaks", not workmanship. The following is my list of problems/issues I have with CSR. 1. A trim board was sawn off because a piece of plywood couldn't be positioned. There were no offers by Cornerstone to replace the board which would have required cutting, painting & installation. They did ask my wife if it would be OK. POINT: If there is any necessary woodwork to be done, i.e., repairs or alternations, forget about these roofers doing it. They are not carpenters by any stretch of the imagination and if they were to attempt it the results would be sub-standard. POINT: I would have expected Cornerstone to have an association with a carpenter or gutter installer to fix all the problems that I've noticed, post-installation. 2. The upgraded roof job that I ordered & paid for called for a flexible membrane (WinterGuard underlayment) to be placed around all "protrusions". It wasn't until they roofed around 2 skylights that I noticed there wasn't a roll of this membrane anywhere in sight. After asking the Cornerstone supervisor he looked surprised and a roll of membrane soon showed up. I'm almost sure that the flexible membrane was not installed on 1 or more of my skylights. 3. The upgrade roof package also called for a "Certaineed" vented roof cap. The roofers were about a 3ed of way down the roof when I noticed that what they were installing was an inferior roof cap ... not "Certaineed" . After I asked the Cornerstone supervisor he looked surprised (again) and a had his roofers tear off the ridge cap and install the right cap. 4. The roofers are just barely OK when simply laying material but anything else is out of their game. When working around one of my skylights he became so rough that it cracked the plaster inside & required filling the cracks and repainting. His anger also included cursing and yelling. 5. Their roofing skills are barely acceptable. Standing on one end of the roof and looking down the ridge line there is a definite "wow" in the shingle line. Not really noticeable from the ground but very noticeable from the roof. Very bad workmanship. 6. I've had to properly set the roofing nails in several places. 7. I'm missing two gutter holding nails & sleeves. I've also had to re-form and straighten the gutter edges in many places. 8. When sheathing the "shed roof" which was 2 stories above the back deck the roofers dropped a sheet of plywood and punched a hole in the deck. The Cornerstone supervisor did pay for me to replace the deck board. 9. When roofing around the large vent for the kitchen range the roofers pulled it loose from it's connection inside the attic. I did not notice until later that the upper bedroom was smelling like whatever we had cooking on the stove. Should they have mentioned that they had dislodged the fitting before they finished up? 10. Cornerstone covered all the old plastic vents with steel pipe but the flanges of the new ones are so bent up it is a big eyesore. 11. Cornerstone, as promised in our contract, painted all my existing aluminum flashing and the new vents. Trouble is that in less than a year the paint is peeling off making it all a big eyesore. 12. Before Cornerstone began, the flashing below the dormer windows and bathroom pop-out were straight. After they were finished all flashing was bent up so badly that they had to screw it down. This wavy look with it's screws looks really bad. 13. The skylight over the bathroom was secured with only 2 screws and was not fully installed down onto it's seating/sealing surface. I'm 60+ years old and climbing to the upper roof to fix this was an ordeal. Had to pull the whole thing off, reform the bent up flashing, reseat and install all the screws. 14. A large skylight does not crank down all the way. Before they started I was in in the process of installing this unit and had completed all curbing. All Cornerstone had to do was install the underlayment and flashing. I've worked on it a bit to trim the flashing but looks like I'll need to remove completely and reset. Like I said, anything other than laying shingles is way beyond their capabilities. 15. On a positive note, plant damage was minimal and the site was thoroughly cleaned read more

CSR is the company to hire for your roof if you want the best workmanship and warranty on the market!!! We had our roof done by Cornerstone Roofing in June 2017. They were fast, listen to our comments, and very accommodating with all our requests. We had our roof inspected after they finished and the inspector said that the workmanship is high quality. Last month we had a problem in our attic and they were fast to assess what is causing it and to find a solution to fix it. This company stays behind their warranty and they take care of any issue fast. Their warranty is not just a piece of paper. They care about their customers and they take pride of their work. We are very happy that we picked CSR for our roof and we will recommend this company to all our friends and family. A special thank to Sam Mabe who was working with us and was making sure that our roof is in perfect condition!! I don't like to give public reviews but we are impressed by the level of professionalism and business ethics this company showed to us. Thank you CSR! read more

I highly recommend Cornerstone Roofing for their quality service--friendly, responsive, neat, and efficient. While getting ready to move during a heat wave, I realized how inadequate the ventilation options in my new home were. Neighbors recommended I contact Cornerstone Roofing to replace my fixed skylights with some that open. Sam came out the next day to discuss my options. I also asked about a solar attic fan for the garage, and he suggested a way to improve the intake venting there, as well. Although they were scheduling 3 weeks out, Sam said he'd try to squeeze me in, because he agreed, the house was extremely hot. A week later, he called to ask if they could come the next day! The installer arrived on time, explained what he would do, and cheerfully set about his work, despite the glaring sun. I was most impressed that he was careful to leave no marks on my freshly painted attic access panel. He also helped me get the closet shelf and rod reinstalled after his attic work was complete. All in all, excellent service with a personal touch. And the ventilation in my house and garage is much improved, too! read more

Cornerstone put on our roof this past June, and did a great job. The quote was easy, and we didn't even have to be at home (though we were). They gave the most complete estimate I have ever seen - we had a total of 5 quotes and their quote package blew the others away. It included pictures of the house and roof from different angles, a schema of the roof with needed venting additions on it, plus 2 different pricing quotes based upon various extras, along with info about shingles, etc. We wanted parts of each quote, so they quickly created another quote with our choices. We were able to get on the schedule very quickly. On the day of roofing, I was surprised that they did not show up until about 9:30a. They brought a crew of 5, and in no time were making progress. Two others stopped during the job - they seemed to be specialists at certain skills - soffit vents, etc. In any case, the whole job was done by 4 - amazing! There was an inspection the next day. Billing was easy, too. They were not the cheapest, and charged us extra for adding a hole to put in a solar fan, which all other contractors said was easy and free. But, all in all, it was a pleasant, easy experience. I'd recommend them. read more

It is the worst experience we ever had for any kind of home remodeling. We replaced the new roof. The work around skylight caused the interior damage with visible water and nail damage. The company hired an 83-year handy man to fix the drywall and do the pain job. He has climb up 24 ft to reach the skylight. It is my understanding that he is not bond or insured. We were so concern about his safety. The work is not up to the standard and they are so visible. We were not satisfied with the drywall and paint. Since it is late, we don't want him to fix another places. The project manager came and blamed that we "forced handyman" to fix the area that were not damaged by roof installation. It is so unprofessional and the attitude is inappropriate. The work assignment is agreed between the project manager and handyman. We have no idea of how had we "forced" handyman. We will have to hire other company to clean up the mess. read more

Cornerstone replaced our roof in 2002. In 2007, we had a serious leak in the upstairs bedroom that cascaded down into the livingroom staining the ceiling. At the same time, the flashing around the chimney caused a leak above the fireplace. The wall board was so saturated that a picture fell off the wall. In both cases, the flashing was not done correctly. A representative did come out and change the flashing but NONE OF THE DAMAGE to the interior was covered. In January 2012, we have another serious leak in the livingroom. The wallboard above the fireplace has to be completely replaced along with the sheeting behind the fireplace that has extensive mold along with moisture ants. After contacting another roofing company to examine the roof, we found many things were done incorrectly. They reused old flashing on the peak of the roof, did not replace the vent pipe, shingles were falling off or placed too close or too far apart and flashing that was still incorrect. Once again, none of the interior damage is covered by this company. We are facing thousands of dollars to correct the roofing work and interior damage. This was a 25 year roof but did not last 5 years without a leak and damage. I recommended this company to others in the neighborhood and now I have to let them know how bad the workmanship truly is. read more
