This was my final move after 28 years in the Air Force. I was doing this solo... while also managing with a broken foot and virtual school for my son. The crew was very friendly, but the aftermath was horrific. Major issues that I am still trying to work through; here are a few:
- washer bolts left installed & dryer mounting brackets lost (Dangerous!)
- bed fell apart on first night (Assembled by crew).
- child's bed missing assembly hardware
- household goods dumped in piles, on countertops, in sinks, making kitchen & bathrooms inaccessible while also resulting in multiple broken items
- wine fridge transported upside down, now inoperable
- giant bag of children's clothing and shoes stolen from residence (employee had asked me to give them to her, I declined)
- empty cans of Red Bull left in my closet, but employee took the time to arrange his favorite of my lingerie collection on top of heaps of wardrobe items that he did not bother to unpack or hang up
- important papers, cosmetics, and bathroom items dumped in bathroom sink under a leaking faucet; ruined.
- damage to walls, carpet, stairs, floors in my new house
- numerous items left behind at old house (but they were carried outdoors to be loaded)
- military memorabilia broken or missing
- numerous broken items, many of them hazardous (glass)
I have pictures of the condition they left to include my lingerie display in my closet. Yep. That happened.
The unpack crew was bickering with one another the entire day. it was clear they were a divided team with different pay (because they commented on it over and over!). I had requested a full on pack, which is one of my military benefits, and they were not happy about it! Again, I was operating solo and with a broken foot, and they were being paid to do this job.
I spoke directly with Caleb the day after delivery; he sent someone to assist assembling my bed and clearing a path in the kitchen and bathroom. I have now contacted his office and spoken to employees four times, each time I am promised a callback from Caleb, I feel like he is avoiding me.
I will proceed with the military claim process, however there is a matter of theft that I wanted to talk directly to Caleb about. I will follow up with the military traffic management office to ensure that this feedback is noted so they are removed from further contracts with military agencies.
I have moved approximately 15 times in my 28 year career; this is absolutely the worst experience I've endured. read more
