Growing up i always thought that Chiropractic Care was just cracking bones. After I attended Cornerstone Community Chiropractic, they shared that it's total body wellness. First of all, when you open the door to the office, you greeted warmly by the girls at the counter. The Drs. also welcome you warmly. Dr. Aki helped me avoid surgery. There was a day I walked in with a cane and walked out without it. He can analyze my body and know where the pain is at. He suggested stretching exercises that I can use daily. He reminds me that what I eat can also affect my body. He makes me laugh which helps the mental side. They always give back to the community with Beach Clean-up Day too! Call them for an appointment. It will be life-changing! read more

I have since left Hawaii but felt compelled to leave a review as I sit in my new chiropractor's waiting room. Dr Aki is the best. His wide experience with physical therapy and chiropractics makes him so valuable to all who seek his services. After months of PT for a compression fracture Dr Aki took away the crippling pain in a matter of weeks. He has just been a help and guide in so many health issues. I would trust him 100% with his gentle but effective procedures. God bless him and his family! read more

Best chiropractor I've ever had! I seen several chiropractors across Hawaii but this one stands out for their values and mission to correct foundations of our spine and pelvis and build relationships as a community. The whole family from baby to senior citizen are serviced here. The whole team from office staff to doctors are very supportive and friendly. They explained in such a way that their practice is a medicine and prevention for our functional health to be enhanced. I have been through the initial assessment for 3x week for a month and am now on their annual schedule at 2x a month at an affordable plan. Results have been evidence based with x rays and functional assessment. The office is clean and professional, and once you're signed up yet wonderful discounts at healthy, conscious businesses, and community outings and volunteerism. Dr Patrick has been my go to and is doing an outstanding job changing lives for the better here in Hawaii. He goes above and beyond in supporting his patients ! read more

I've been going to cornerstone for little over a year now and I'm so glad my husband found this place. We first started out with Dr Nic, but he's in Oregon now and have been seeing Dr Aki since then. The whole staff is welcoming and friendly. They are awesome! Please know that they don't par with insurance so you are paying out of pocket for the services. For some it can be considered expensive but it really comes down to the end goal in mind. I initially came because my Achilles tendinitis pain (which I had for about 2 years prior to starting services at Cornerstone) was not improving. I was constantly limping and had already gone to see a Podiatrist, an orthopedic doctor, a regular chiropractor, and gone through physical therapy. I was at a point wanted to make sure it wasn't throwing everything else in my body out of line because also started having some back pain. Since coming to cornerstone I've notice huge improvement in my Achilles pain- it no longer causes pain. My posture is improving slowly but surely. And also I believe Gonstead adjustment has improved my health overall -- I get less headaches, and better range of motion. I love that every time we're there, there are small helpful advices in the changing room. Its nice to have reminders on how to holistically care for your body. My recommendation, come check it out see if it's a fit for you. If it is, great, if not, that's ok. read more

Cornerstone Chiropractic was life changing for my family and I. I first contacted them because I was having an extremely difficult time getting around. I had resorted to using a crutch around the house and was constantly in pain. I had been using a chiropractor prior, but there was no plan and I saw no progress. Dr. Sean did a thorough exam with xrays to come up with a treatment plan for me. Because of this I feel like I have my life back now. I am able to hike and swim again with my kids. My 4 year old son was dealing with stomach issues and anxiety which Dr. Sean helped address and my son seems like a different person. He is sleeping so much better. Dr. Sean was so patient with both my kids which made our visits easy and positive everytime. Both kids were always very excited to go. The staff all around is very kind. Dr. Aki has a great, welcoming and friendly personality that is one of a kind and can make anyone smile. He and his staff truly care about what they do and their patients. I am forever thankful for them. read more

I've been coming here several years for Dr. Aki to adjust me. It's important for me because not only do I work sitting down most of the day, I also powerlift. Dr. Aki knows what needs to be done (even adjusting my neck, which I don't ever allow anyone to do that but him) to adjust that helps alot in my moving around easily without any pain or stiffness. Located in the Ewa Beach area, they also have locations in Kapolei and I believe, Kakaako area. There are several chiropractors for you to choose. Office is clean and runned efficiently by friendly, professional staff. If you're looking for a functional chiropractor, I highly recommend Cornerstone Community Chiropractic. read more

MY DEEPEST GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION TO DR. AKI & HIS FOUNDATION CORRECTION TECHNIQUES I had given up on any real relief from my old work injury. I have truly tried EVERYTHING! I could not sit, stand, lay down nor walk for more than 5-7 minutes without extreme discomfort; experienced daily headaches and I was not sleeping comfortably at all. I had actually been sleeping on the floor for weeks due to extreme pain at night. Sadly, I had stop exercising completely and couldn't walk more than one short block. Yesterday I walked farther than I have been able to walk in many years! I resumed sleeping in my comfortable bed, exercisingdaily, and my headaches have stopped completely 2 weeks ago. And I am only in my 4th week of treatments! ..... My future looks BRIGHTER I recommend this chiropractor business to everyone who needs a lifestyle change from pain-FUL to pain-FREE. The education given with his services are priceless! NOTE: I am not 100% pain-free but in a few short weeks I have my life back. My pain was EXTREME! (Just keeping it real folks) read more

After receiving subpar care from another chiropractor, I took the leap and contacted Cornerstone online. The office was quick to reply to my message and called me to set up a consultation. My husband and I were scheduled for the last appointment of the night, and we were thankful Dr. Aki stayed past work hours to see us. He did his visual checks and then informed us he would like to do an X-ray. We were anxious to start treatment and agreed to have an X-ray done and get a baseline of our alignment. My first mistake with this consultation was not asking if they accept insurance. After getting our X-ray done, we were informed it would cost $47 per person, so a total of $94 that night. I was disappointed that I wasn't aware we'd be charged for the X-ray until after we agreed to doing it. It wasn't until that moment that I was told Cornerstone is a private practice and unfortunately does not accept insurance. My husband and I wanted to get chiropractic care right away so we decided to stick with Cornerstone. They offered us a payment plan or to pay upfront for a slight discount. We chose to pay upfront and save some money in the long run, so our total was nearly $1900 for 12 visits each ($950ish per person). This was a hefty payment, but we've heard positive things about Dr. Aki and decided it would be a great investment. Dr. Aki showed great concern and interest to keep our alignment in check. He would check our inflammation with that little machine of his, and get to work with customized plans for each of us. He also talked us through stretches and asked us to ice our bodies every day to ensure our alignment progress stayed on track. Dr. Aki is knowledgeable and showed us kindness during our visits with him. At the end of our 12 visits, Dr. Aki did a follow up X-ray to show how much progress was made in the areas of concern. I definitely saw improvement in my X-ray, and for the most part I did feel some relief in my spine and hip area. Unfortunately, we are unable to continue our care because of the cost. If only they accepted insurance to alleviate the financial stress because payment plans and $80 visits aren't feasible for my family in the long run. Also, my only real complaint is the wait time. Many of our appointments were never on time... We've come 10 minutes early only to be seen 30 minutes later than our scheduled appointment. I understand Dr. Aki is a hot commodity but it becomes an issue to wait that long. Maybe in the future we will reconsider continuing care with Dr. Aki. I believe he did his best to address our concerns and provide us with knowledge and kindness. read more

The staff and the Doctors here genuinely care about people's health. They are very passionate about what they do and it's very obvious by the way they take care of their clients. Doctor Aki truly helped my colic baby. My son would cry for hours and I had a very difficult birth which led to him being unaligned. Husband and I have been going to Cornerstone Chiropractor for a while now and we must say that it's definitely been helping with our posture, our mood, pretty much our health in general. We found out about this office (because they have a Kapolei office & there's this one.) because originally Dr. Nic was a member in my Kapolei (West Side Success Chapter) BNI. At first I refused to get chiropractic done because the very first place I went to (somewhere in Hawaii Kai) pretty much scarred me. I never wanted to get adjusted again... until I heard Dr. Nic's commercial for our meeting regarding pain in the neck and back area that comes and go. I told him I had that problem for years due to trauma, falls, etc. I finally set up my meeting. I had to get my husband involved with me as well because his current job is Drywall Construction. It's a lot of wear and tear on your muscles/joints. We had the pleasure of getting adjusted by Dr. Chad Kobbs! He was the very first chiropractor I actually trusted. My first appointment, I did explain to him that I had gotten adjusted ONCE in my life by a female doctor and my experience that scarred me. First off, he took my xrays and examined them. We came back for a follow up to explain our current situation with the spinal cord. Then I explained to him about any trauma, falls or accidents that happened to me. Dr. Chad explained to me that the falls I had were pretty serious that it caused me to have congestion problems because I had fallen from a ladder and other incidents before. Overall my experience here at Cornerstone changed my outlook on the importance of Chiropractic. Husband and I are firm believers of it and we definitely recommend you go and check them out! You never know what's going on with your spine and what problems that could easily be resolved by just going to get it checked out. We now see Dr. Aki and he is also THE BEST!!!!!! read more

If I could recommend 10 stars, I would. Dr. Aki is an expert of his craft. Originally from Japan, Dr. Aki brings a component to his practice that cannot be explained. Not limited to the neck and back, Dr. Aki strives to be an expert in all musculoskeletal ailments. His corrective techniques are tried and tested. His skills and thoroughness make him the ONLY chiropractor I will see. I would spend my entire budget to get the relief Dr. Aki offers, but fortunately for us his services are reasonable and affordable. In my experience, you'll never find a better chiropractor than Dr. Aki. read more

I'm not sure I gave Cornerstone Community Chiropractic a fair shot but my experience didn't meet my needs. My back was out and I really needed an adjustment. I wish the staff had helped me gain a better understanding upfront on the cost and price range, along with the possibility that I would not receive a back adjustment right away. The staff was super warm and friendly and the office feels very homey. They are upstairs above Buffalo Wild Wings with decent parking. For clear transparency, you'll see what I experienced not to try to sway someone either way, but purely for reference because I wish I had known this upfront. - I needed an adjustment as a new patient. My back was out and I could not sleep, was constantly in pain and couldn't think straight. I booked an appt but they couldn't give me a cost or price range. It depended on my condition. - Happy to finally make it to my appointment a few days later and still no price range. - They took x-rays for my back (especially since I have some numbness in my arms sometimes). That was $99. Okay no biggie for my health but there would be no adjustment until my x-rays could be analyzed. So maybe after the weekend on Monday, but I could not make it back to the office until Tuesday. I was dying at this point but all the other chiropractors were just as booked. - So come Tuesday and before I'm about to get on a plane, I head back in thinking I would get a good adjustment. Dr Mikey gave me a great explanation and view of my crooked spine on the screen. Neat gadget. Wow no wonder I was uncomfortable. Who knew how many years I was living with a crooked spine. - Then I got the sales pitch, with a highlighter on a piece of paper. This adjustment program could have easily been printed out. I am a planner. I appreciate time to absorb and know what I'm walking into (even the possibilities of care depending on my needs), not decide on the spot. I have received other cost plans for different types of medical treatments from $7K to $14K and opted in. But this is nothing to spur on a patient at the last minute - I did not commit to a 3-4 month plan, 2x a week, on the spot. I just wanted one adjustment and then I would think about the $1200 and up commitment. - Instead I received a small adjustment on my neck for long term health. Great. But my neck wouldn't crack anymore than that and there would be no adjustment for my mid and lower back. ouch. So $200 later and I was still incredibly uncomfortable, achy, and grouchy. It's like you haven't fed me for days. It left me with a bad taste in the mouth. I ended up going somewhere else to get adjusted. I understand the long term plan of helping my spine get into a better place but if a customer wants hot fries, give them hot fries. Then try to share the benefits of eating more salad after that. Please and thank you. read more

Dr. Aki and his staff are amazing! They are all so really friendly, helpful and so welcoming. Before becoming a patient at Cornerstone, I assumed that all a chiropractor did was crack your body. However, here at Cornerstone they really emphasize foundational correction. The doctors really do care, they do their best to address your pain and health issues. I've always been one to suffer at least 1-3 migraines a week and always felt like my body was compensating more on one side when walking/running. I had no idea how much the alignment of my body effected me. I now rarely ever get migraines and walking/running is much easier. I'd definitely recommend Cornerstone Community Chiropractor to anyone. I didn't find out that I was expecting until I was in the beginning of my second trimester, so I decided to take a birth class. The birth class recommended to go to a chiropractor for overall health for mommy and baby; one of their recommended chiropractors was Dr. Aki at Cornerstone! It was so easy to set up a consultation and get started. The office and staff are so warm, inviting, and relaxing. I really love how tailored everything is to your body and health conditions. They also have a class to teach you how to protect your foundation and it's very helpful to be informed of the best ways to keep healthy. I love how the office is also posted with a lot of healthy tips I'm in the last couple weeks of my pregnancy and I always leave the office feeling refreshed and ready to take on my day- thank you Cornerstone! read more

I've been dealing with back issues for a long time. I've seen chiropractors a few times in the past, but the experience at Cornerstone has been on a completely different level. Starting with the initial call to schedule an appt, the admin staff was upbeat, professional and helpful in getting me the soonest available appointment. During my first consultation, I was blown away with the information shared with me. Understanding how the spine affects my overall bodily functions really helped me to put the pieces together and finally understand why I've been experiencing so many ailments over the years. I was encouraged after my consultation and didn't hesitate to make the investment for 12 treatments, because it was clear that the doctors at Cornerstone are top notch. If you're looking for a chiropractor, call them. You won't be sorry. Notes: Kid friendly. Dr Aki is awesome with he kiddies! Efficient check in/out process, quick & easy Super clean office , clean gowns provided at each appt X-rays are done at your consultation, with your first appt as soon as the next day. Dr. Aki definitely got my back!! Back in 2018 had a history of some crazy sciatic pain to a point that I was dragging my leg and had numbing in my toes. Didn't realize that I was so misaligned. Thanks to Dr. Aki he fixed all of that in a year...I was walking normally and had feelings back in my toes. I took a break (which was a huge mistake) and ended up with upper back pain so I ended up returning in 2020. I was slightly misaligned again, and thanks to Dr. Skyler and Dr. Aki they where able to alleviate the pain and get me realigned again. I've been having intermittent back and neck pains. I've also experienced foot pains when I walked and recalled that this could all be due to my alignment. I was referred to Cornerstone Chiropractic in Ewa Beach by my Primary Care Provider, and it truly is a continuous blessing...And I always count my blessings: 1: The receptionist is welcoming and helpful. My husband and I were assisted by Mari on our initial visit, and she is pure sunshine and aloha! She made sure I understood how things go & what to expect. Every visit, she greets us by name, which stuck with her, as her mom is also a Frances, and my husband is Patrick, same name of my chiropractor. Mari created that immediate bond with us. You can see the excitement in her eyes every time we walk in the door. She even recommended that we attend the home care workshop. 2. We attended the workshop facilitated by Dr. Sean. He is very fun & personable aside from being knowledgeable! The information he shared and demonstrated keeps me and my husband mindful on our posture and on eliminating bad habits. This is a must do! From holding your cellphone, to sleep positions, and simply just moving your body actively to stay healthy. The slides with the presentation were eye opening.. and the complimentary sandwiches were yummy, too! I can see how Dr. Sean's patients will miss him, as we found out that he will be moving back home to start his own practice. We were fortunate to have met him that day. We wish him well! 3. And there's Dr. Aki - pure high energy! He is bouncy like Tigger, so joyful and dynamic. He always greeted us with such enthusiasm... always reminding us that it's a wonderful day to be alive! Even when he is attending to his own patients, he would pop out his head to say hello or goodbye - always sharing his beaming personality! And his videos on IG are not only informative, it's also very entertaining! 4. The biggest blessing so far in this team, for me, is Dr. Patrick. He is the one personally taking care of my adjustments. The awesome thing about this practice is that they take an Xray of your spine before proceeding with anything. Dr. Patrick truly knows his stuff, explaining to both me and my husband the foundations of good spine health and how it affects every organ and nerves in your body, promoting good health. I was recommended to take 12 sessions, and I've felt a huge improvement in all aspects of my complaints. The back pain and neck pain slowly but surely went away.... And I noticed that I even lost my chronic headaches! I mentioned that I ran out of my I allergy meds and my breathing has been fine without it. All the adjustments Dr. Patrick has performed we're very calculated, and eliminated things that I thought were normal. No more constipation, no more menstrual cramps. It's amazing that I don't need to take meds to alleviate those. And I've only been seeing Dr. Patrick for about 6 weeks. Also, Dr. Patrick is a very cool dude. He is so down to earth, fun, and is full of aloha, and he gets our humor, too. He came to HI and is embracing our culture, like he was born here. My husband and I got to enjoy the back and forth talk stories, and we can tell we've made a great friend! During my last visits, another X-ray was taken, and the before and after comparison was amazing! Thank you Dr. Patrick! You're truly wise for your age! We will see you soon... 5. Continuing to get care from this team will be an ongoing experience. It might not be as often as my initial care, yet I know they are just a call away to make appointments as needed for maintenance. The convenience of having locations throughout the island makes Cornerstone Community Chiropractic a blessing to Oahu residents. They even gave me 2 discount coupons that my husband, and friend will be using soon! We appreciate you all, team of Ewa Beach... we wanna grow old - or feel young & active again - with you!
