I was skeptical coming here , didnt know what to expect. It was quiet with with my gf got there early watched the nfc championship. There was a band there and a little bit of sketchy individuals. The price on the booze and the nachos I got were pricey. They were ok the nachos , I would probably just come here for pool and some drinks. Not the food , there's a lot of pool tables ,arcade games, and other games to play. The bartender was nice , we played pool that was fun. I was kind of bothered I was trying to get a yelp coupon redeemed for pool 10 bucks for 2 hours. The bar tender got the manager or owner to talk to me , the man said that he couldn't accept it they wanted to get off yelp a while ago , he said it was a covid discount , during covid. He sounded faded and finally he granted me the check in coupon from yelp but added 2 more dollars. Then he was messing around giving me a hard time for being a yelper. I mean I would of gave it higher review but that owner or guy was kind of ghetto.

Ahhhh, I'm not sure how I am supposed to review this place. Part of me wants to rate it a full 5 star but the other part wants me to rate it a 1-2 star. Note: unlike my other reviews, I am reviewing this place only after one visit but that's because I don't live in the area so this was a one time visit for me.....and so starts my rant: Starting with the Good, the great, and the magnificent. Very large location with ample room for people to mingle so this is definitely a location for even large groups to come hang out and enjoy. Music options could be a Yay or nay, depending on who you are but I'm pretty sure I saw a jukebox so you can play the music you like if you wanted. Music selection options are unknown but I would assume your favorite music will be available as well. The staff working here are extremely friendly and welcome myself and my friend, though complete strangers to the area as if we were regulars so that was very inviting. Beer/ale selection was okay. I don't drink and my friend is a Whiskey drinker so no Whiskey but he was able to find something he liked so that's a plus. There are many pool tables to play with, and different sizes so whether you want to play on the standard size or smaller size, you have the option. Lots of TV's so I would assume this would be a great place for when a game is on or other televised events. Hell, they even have some arcade games if you get bored of shooting because you can't shoot and others keep beating you. LOL. Price (for the table) is one of the best I've seen, especially the deal you get when you check-in via Yelp (this is as of November 2019). I checked in but I didn't get the deal because I totally forgot to show at the time of purchase. Well, I didn't pay, my friend did, and I was having a good time chatting with the bartender so that made me forget. But you know what? Even if I did get the discount, I probably would have paid the same amount and just applied it to the tip instead because of how much I did enjoy this location the day I visited. After reading the above, one would imagine "Well then, why the hell would you consider rating this place no less than a 5 star?" Well.... This... and this really applies to those who are looking for what I consider to be a proper pool hall. Though I've been shooting pool for well over 15 years now, it's always been just for fun but I've also come to appreciate the sport and know when a location is more a pool hall or more a fun bar and entertainment location. Corner Pocket Billiards being the latter. The things I'm about to point out will be things that someone who regularly shoots pool will understand but for the average person, probably won't care about. The tables are not maintained well and very dirty. Part of the reason is they use the red chalk (and for those who want to know, most cheap chalks produce a lot of dust which gets on the table and if you don't clean the tables often, it gets really dirty really quickly. Even the chalk from more recognized brands like Masters will dust (in all colors minus blue and grey that I found) so I usually prefer Master's blue chalk because of that. Blah blah blah.. yes i know) The rails are spongy soft or bumpy - annoyed the crap out of me when trying to bank shots. Dirty table + dusty chalk, you can guess that the cue stick was pretty dirty too. Not sure how often they wipe those down. I had to get a damp paper towel and wipe the stick i was using down for a couple of minutes before I felt comfortable I wasn't about to catch some disease (i'm a bit of an obsessive-compulsive person). You will only see 20oz and 21 oz sticks, some sticks were missing the tip, most didn't have a bumper and the first stick that I picked up had a bent screw that had a sharp edge that got caught on my shirt and almost ripped while i was cleaning it. The balls are very dirty and the cueball looks like it has pink eye. Some of the tables are not level so it was annoying to have my balls roll in directions I didn't want it to go. I think that about sums up my cons for this place. Judging from my complaints, any seasoned pool player would laugh at me and care less about most of the stuff I said minus maybe the cleanliness of the table as they can usually adapt to any situation and still kick butt and win. So yeah, even after 15 years, I still suck at shooting but I enjoy the game. Would I come back if and when I was in the area? Sure! But I may ask to borrow some of their cleaning supplies and clean the table prior to use or bring my own if they allow. LOL. Yes, it bothered me that much.

Ok place to play some pool. Price per the hour is great, that's my favorite thing. Cheapest place I've been to for pool so far. The reason is probably because of the mostly beat-up (some crooked & some broken) pool sticks, and no AC (it felt extremely stuffy). I went at night when it had already freshened outside from a really hot day (it was in the 80sF that day), but the inside had not cooled down at all yet so I can only imagine how hot it was in there during the day. Only played two games and I had to get out of there. Nonetheless, I will stop by again to play pool when I am in the area, unless it's a hot day, or hopefully they have AC by then.

First time coming here and I loved it! This place has it all: An amazing vibe, cold drinks, great music, food options, easy parking, and stays open late! The bartender welcomed my girlfriend and I with a smile and immediate service. Will definitely be back at this place soon!

Stopped by yesterday with a party of about 20. The service was great, attentive and patient. What was awesome about them was that the management knew we were coming late and decided to keep the place open an hour later. Props to the management and staff! Definitely will be coming back! read more

Not coming back to this place ever! Not a legit pool hall. More like a club with a bunch of shitty pool tables. Definitely not worth $10/hr. The tables were falling apart and the cue sticks...I've seen straighter wood on an oak tree branch. The drinks are limited and overpriced. Security pats you down before you get in the door, unless you're white or look white. I can think of a few places in San Diego that are nicer and cheaper than this place. Epic FAIL! read more

I am grateful that I have a space I can take friends to hangout around downtown Oxnard. I went here last weekend. I had some delicious 805 on tap and played a game of pool, which is $10 for an hour. There are televisions and tables all around. The place is huge and is sure to become a go-to-spot to watch games. Things are still starting out, there was only 2 people on staff. They were attentive and made regular rounds to check on everyone. The register's credit card machine acted up, but is probably just part of starting out. They were absolutely kind about it and I do plan to come back for more. read more

Good joint for pool on late slow nights. There's a rental fee per hour. You can order micheladas and enjoy! They add chamoy and it goes great with modelos . If you're looking to chill, this is a good spot to relax with some friends. read more

Really bad tables, the bumpers are shot and the felt is pitted and ripped, and all the tables need to be leveled- we tried 5 and then gave up figuring they were all unlevel. Not really worth the $6/hour (with yelp check in) I spent. Corner pocket needs a TON of TLC but I doubt the owners will spend the money needed. read more

Affordable Brew, Pool tables , darts, ping pong and arcade games. I love this place since it's probably the only place in Oxnard that is open late besides bars and restaurants . Sometimes people will take over the jukebox and have their music playing for an hour or so which gets annoying. One time I put a dollar for 3 songs and I never got to listen to them lol but whatever I still enjoy this place. read more

I always come here to pass time with friends, enviroment is great. Angelique is awesome, she is always keeping up with the guests making sure they are ok, she is courteous of others. Good place to play pool for a good price with yelp check in. And delicious micheladas, best I have ever had but for 9 bucks... Seems like a lil much. For a 12 oz modelo and chili? The females are nice that work hard. There is one male there that's cocky. Maybe the owner or thinks he is... IDK. Great place can't wait to go back. Great place for young and old. I would give it 5 stars. However the pool tables are a bit neglected. Other than that. Great environment good food and drinks. And one of the few places you can have a date with your wife and have the arcade babysit your kids. Wish the tables were better and i would be there daily. BCA APA Pool player. Don't go here if your main interest is playing pool !! Sure it's big with a dozen or more 9 footers, but those tables are in terrible shape. I went there on a Tues for about 45mins in the 4pm to 5pm time frame. Music system was on full blast playing porno songs about female parts and the joys of sex with anyone, anytime. Not exactly a "family environment". Counter man gave me a rack of dirty polyester balls with an oversized cue ball. I went back to ask for a normal cue ball, he had no clue what that was. When I suggested "maybe with red dots", he finally found what seemed to be an Aramith Pro Cup, buried in a pile of old dirty balls under the counter. When I couldn't stand it there any longer, I checked in the balls and counter man said $6. I said are you sure? I knew that was overpriced for 45min of single player practice before 6pm, but he persisted...it's $6. I wasn't going to fuss over a couple of dollars, but I don't think he knew how to do basic math, and judging from the atmosphere the owner doesn't really care. It's just another sleazy, noisy, party bar with a lot of floor space, pretending to be a billiards parlor, and it's certainly NOT a place I'd visit with friends or family. read more

Roomy, Clean. A lot of different areas and things to do. Fair Prices. The tables need some attention. Loose pockets that need to be screwed down. The "Fuzzy" Cloth on a couple of tables looks to have the cloth installed upside-down. The fuzzy side always goes down during install. Overall an OK place for Ball Bangers, not where I would go to do some real pool shooting. A few tables should have tighter 4 3/8th inch pockets for real practice and better cloth. They need to have a Real Table Mechanic to come in every year and maintain their tables. Brush the tables once week and put covers on each night. Cover the tables in Green or Blue Cloth. read more

I joined friends last night for some good ol corn hole games. And I must say this place is amazing. From everything to the owners Fernando and Alex & their awesome hospitality to the customers , to the beautiful servers (that I asked twice for their names after a few drinks by the way sorry) Jeanette & Wendy I was amazed how well and calm those woman worked for it being a Tuesday and the bar being full of dudes taking advantage of the happy hour specials. Listen, if the place was super busy and they were swamped, I could see why they would be bothered by a Groupon hassle. But that was NOT the case and the fact of the matter is, they did not apologize for doubting the validity of the Groupon. It was more like we were an annoyance that we came in at all. Didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink. Ray was excellent at his presentation and instruction, but we were the only people throwing at the time and I was having issues with even hitting the board with the metal part of the axe. Just a helpful hint for the throwers, you will have to get someone back over there by asking if you need anymore help. They are not going to volunteer to help you again. All and all it is a fun environment, but I doubt we will be going back anytime soon. You want to spend money in an establishment that wants you there. Not one that acts like you just pissed in their Cheerios by showing up. Fun place to try, but frustrating if you can't throw the axe correctly to make it stick to the wall.

I love this place. Good selection of draft and bottled beer. We hosted a birthday party here and it was great.
