I know this place is hole-in-the-wall, which is part of the charm, but the chairs were sticky, the sticks were splintering, most of the games were broken, and the general cleanliness was lower than I'd expect even from a hole-in-the-wall place. Also, know that they do not allow ANY outside drinks, even though there are no signs or warnings posted outside the building. My friend brought water in, and a bartender instantly came and took it from her hand. They told her that no drinks were allowed and they'd have to throw it away. My friend asked if she could put it in her car, and they said she wouldn't be allowed back in. I understand not allowing outside drinks, but there were no signs highlighting the rule, and threatening to ban someone for simply asking if she could put the drink away is too excessive. Pretty disappointing night and I'd suggest finding a different spot if you care about cleanliness and being treated respectfully. read more

Cool little spot to play pool and arcade games. The bathrooms are clean and they have quite a few spots to sit down and hangout with friends. They have connect 4, pin ball, foosball table, air hockey and 80s video games. Has a 80s/90s feel to it. Wish we lived closer because this would definitely be the hangout spot! read more

We attended an event this past weekend at the Corner Pocket Billiards, this place is spacious with multiple pool tables and some arcade games. The reason to give 3 out 5 stars is because of the following: Pros - The personnel is friendly and attentive. The pool tables and sticks are in good condition. Cons - The bathrooms definitely need an upgrade both men's and women's. The women's bathroom has two (2) toilets next to each other, but no divider or walls for privacy. It reminded me of a little girls bathroom in the pre-school days. The men's bathroom is missing a knob with a lock. Cannot lock the door when using the restroom. Anyone can walk in without your permission. Management, please fix the men's bathroom is not acceptable to be completely ambush with literally your pants down. read more

I was skeptical coming here , didnt know what to expect. It was quiet with with my gf got there early watched the nfc championship. There was a band there and a little bit of sketchy individuals. The price on the booze and the nachos I got were pricey. They were ok the nachos , I would probably just come here for pool and some drinks. Not the food , there's a lot of pool tables ,arcade games, and other games to play. The bartender was nice , we played pool that was fun. I was kind of bothered I was trying to get a yelp coupon redeemed for pool 10 bucks for 2 hours. The bar tender got the manager or owner to talk to me , the man said that he couldn't accept it they wanted to get off yelp a while ago , he said it was a covid discount , during covid. He sounded faded and finally he granted me the check in coupon from yelp but added 2 more dollars. Then he was messing around giving me a hard time for being a yelper. What a fun big place! We had an event there this morning with the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps. The owner was very welcoming and cordial. The place was clean and fun for the cadets and parents alike. A very family-friendly place with wonderful staff and hosts. I highly recommend this beautiful establishment anything from hanging out and playing pool to hosting large events. Drinks are overpriced, bathroom looks like you're in a third world country. No security so anyone can come in carrying anything, the crowd is shady and the place is all ages. Ahhhh, I'm not sure how I am supposed to review this place. Part of me wants to rate it a full 5 star but the other part wants me to rate it a 1-2 star. Note: unlike my other reviews, I am reviewing this place only after one visit but that's because I don't live in the area so this was a one time visit for me.....and so starts my rant: Starting with the Good, the great, and the magnificent. Very large location with ample room for people to mingle so this is definitely a location for even large groups to come hang out and enjoy. Music options could be a Yay or nay, depending on who you are but I'm pretty sure I saw a jukebox so you can play the music you like if you wanted. Music selection options are unknown but I would assume your favorite music will be available as well. The staff working here are extremely friendly and welcome myself and my friend, though complete strangers to the area as if we were regulars so that was very inviting. Beer/ale selection was okay. I don't drink and my friend is a Whiskey drinker so no Whiskey but he was able to find something he liked so that's a plus. There are many pool tables to play with, and different sizes so whether you want to play on the standard size or smaller size, you have the option. Lots of TV's so I would assume this would be a great place for when a game is on or other televised events. Hell, they even have some arcade games if you get bored of shooting because you can't shoot and others keep beating you. LOL. Price (for the table) is one of the best I've seen, especially the deal you get when you check-in via Yelp (this is as of November 2019). I checked in but I didn't get the deal because I totally forgot to show at the time of purchase. Well, I didn't pay, my friend did, and I was having a good time chatting with the bartender so that made me forget. But you know what? Even if I did get the discount, I probably would have paid the same amount and just applied it to the tip instead because of how much I did enjoy this location the day I visited. After reading the above, one would imagine "Well then, why the hell would you consider rating this place no less than a 5 star?" Well.... This... and this really applies to those who are looking for what I consider to be a proper pool hall. Though I've been shooting pool for well over 15 years now, it's always been just for fun but I've also come to appreciate the sport and know when a location is more a pool hall or more a fun bar and entertainment location. Corner Pocket Billiards being the latter. The things I'm about to point out will be things that someone who regularly shoots pool will understand but for the average person, probably won't care about. The tables are not maintained well and very dirty. Part of the reason is they use the red chalk (and for those who want to know, most cheap chalks produce a lot of dust which gets on the table and if you don't clean the tables often, it gets really dirty really quickly. Even the chalk from more recognized brands like Masters will dust (in all colors minus blue and grey that I found) so I usually prefer Master's blue chalk because of that. Blah blah blah.. yes i know) The rails are spongy soft or bumpy - annoyed the crap out of me when trying to bank shots. Dirty table + dusty chalk, you can guess that the cue stick was pretty dirty too. Not sure how often they wipe those down. I had to get a damp paper towel and wipe the stick i was using down for a couple of minutes before I felt comfortable I wasn't about to catch some disease (i'm a bit of an obsessive-compulsive person). You will only see 20oz and 21 oz sticks, some sticks were missing the tip, most didn't have a bumper and the first stick that I picked up had a bent screw that had a sharp edge that got caught on my shirt and almost ripped while i was cleaning it. The balls are very dirty and the cueball looks like it has pink eye. Some of the tables are not level so it was annoying to have my balls roll in directions I didn't want it to go. I think that about sums up my cons for this place. Judging from my complaints, any seasoned pool player would laugh at me and care less about most of the stuff I said minus maybe the cleanliness of the table as they can usually adapt to any situation and still kick butt and win. So yeah, even after 15 years, I still suck at shooting but I enjoy the game. Would I come back if and when I was in the area? Sure! But I may ask to borrow some of their cleaning supplies and clean the table prior to use or bring my own if they allow. LOL. Yes, it bothered me that much. read more

Ok place to play some pool. Price per the hour is great, that's my favorite thing. Cheapest place I've been to for pool so far. The reason is probably because of the mostly beat-up (some crooked & some broken) pool sticks, and no AC (it felt extremely stuffy). I went at night when it had already freshened outside from a really hot day (it was in the 80sF that day), but the inside had not cooled down at all yet so I can only imagine how hot it was in there during the day. Only played two games and I had to get out of there. Nonetheless, I will stop by again to play pool when I am in the area, unless it's a hot day, or hopefully they have AC by then. read more

Wish I could give a better score but can't. My fault in not calling in advance, but instead believed their website hours and days of operation. Came to play on Monday at 2:00 P.M. and the doors were locked. Looking through the glass it was empty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned from the night before. Hours on the window said open on Monday 12:00 P.M to 12:00 A.M. (and the same until Thursday). Looked like a great place to go and will try again someday. read more

My husband and I just moved back to Oxnard (after 10 years gone and living in Pasadena) and I have to say.............they have it right. Elisa ? I think her name is, is the owners daughter in law and just as sweet as they come and very personable and talkative. I feel SO bad I don't remember the other cute female bartender but she was the bomb also. I met Elisa's husband too and he was SO nice and talkative and everyone was just "real". First, it is a huge space and they have pool tables, great music and clean bathrooms! We mentioned we were going to Fleetwood Mac in December so she went and played some on the jukebox for us!! SO cool!! We had Lagunitas beer and just watched the family time go down and for me... a woman there on a Sunday.......I was thrilled that they had ONE TV with a Netflix movie I could watch............with subtitles!! I am deaf in one ear and that is a must for me!! One man (don't' know his title or name) was SO sweet and switched movies around until something was on that I liked..............he didn't have to do that but it was so appreciated! I came here last weekend with my boyfriend and his family. This is a great place to just hangout and have a good chill time. The place is really spacious. There are about 12 pool tables in the main area, which sounds like a lot, but they are spaced out enough so you're not bumping booties with the group beside you (unless you really want to). They have plenty of tables and booth type areas to sit down if you're not playing. There is a little arcade area also with an air hockey table and a basketball game. They even have a modern jukebox so you can play music. There's an upstairs area with more pool tables, a dance floor, and a banquet type area that would be a good place to have a party. Alex was the main guy that was helping us out. I'm pretty sure he was the manager or should be the manager because he was very friendly. He was super accommodating. It is very rare for a place like this to have amazing customer service, but this place definitely has that. The workers were always checking on us to see if we needed anything and even brought us another round right to our table. Pricing is really good. It is $10/hour to play pool. They also have a good beer selection. And my favorite part of this place was that they have delicious micheladas!!! I was in heaven. *updated review - Went there with a few friends yesterday, it was pretty cool. The place is big, there are a lot of pool tables and a lot of TV's. The service was on the slower side, I had to go get my own drinks a few times because our server was no where to be found. My recommendation... Shut down the jukebox. We got stuck listening to horrible music all night because one person decided to play like $40 worth of Spanish music (not that I have anything against it) just overwhelming after 30 songs! read more

My girlfriend and I love to play pool and were visiting the area so we checked out this place. The pool tables are high quality and they have medium and large tables. The price will be anywhere from $5-$10 an hour depending on times of day. They have coupons on YELP so check it out. Good tall glasses of beer for $13 / 32 ounce and $10 / 24 ounce . They also have a boxing club/ ring out of this location with cool artists and artwork in the hall as well.
