This is the only place I will buy my meat from. High quality cuts, great service, and the workers are always helpful and friendly!

We were interested in the pick-your-own bags and we got a hefty amount of sour candies. We paid $28 for over a pound, which is way cheaper than the prices we were seeing online. The people who work there are also super friendly and helpful. I've tried the gummy candies from the store in Brooklyn and these ones are much better, way more fresh and soft. This store happens to be right across from Nantasket beach, so we will be back next time to enjoy the candy sitting on the beach!!

The owner, Maria, is lovely! The store has a wide array of homemade treats: fine handmade chocolates made from premium European chocolate, homemade Swedish fish, imported candies, homemade fudge and orders can be placed for cakes. I recently bought 3 boxes of chocolate candies for holiday presents. The chocolates are not inexpensive but she uses clean ingredients like cane sugar versus fructose syrup, no artificial flavors or colors and high quality chocolate. I would rather buy a smaller box of high quality chocolate than a big box of bulk made chocolates with artificial flavors, colors, cheap ingredients, fillers and preservatives. Maria also sent me a very kind thank you note for my order! I live on the South Shore and feel grateful there are incredible small businesses like this to support that make an exceptional product and are appreciative of my business. Maria was such a pleasant, friendly person that it felt great to support her business in my modest way.

Having been, now, a few times, I think the reviews are a bit understated. it is fresh, fast, kind. The drawback is that they do not have a huge selection, but I suspect that is because what they have is fresh. It also does not appear overpriced. I will go back.

On Christmas Eve, (La Vigilia), many Italian families celebrate the "Feast of the Seven Fishes"…read more The custom is to serve seven different seafood dishes, each one representing one of the seven sacraments. At least that's the version of the story we've always gone by. The usual menu (since I was a tiny tot) has always included: pasta with lobster, baked stuffed shrimp, bacala (salt cod) salad, another bacala dish; this one with a marinara sauce, pan-fried smelts, clams one way or another; often casino-style, calamari, and then whatever else suits us that year to total at least seven dishes. While I didn't appreciate aspects of this meal when I was a kid (read: any bacala dish), it's now probably my favorite holiday feast bar none with any and all bacala included. While I usually get my fish at Rockyneck no matter what time of year, the day or two leading up to Christmas Eve is when we've got to buckle down. The crowd is coming. Rockyneck doesn't steer us wrong. It's actually inside the Hingham Fruit Center, a store I love and which I've reviewed separately. It consists of one large seafood counter within the larger grocery store and is its own business. I'm generally impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the seafood they carry. The look of the fish is always pristine and I never hesitate over any of their offerings. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful and will do their best to get you the very best of what you need when you need it. Christmas Eve notwithstanding, this place is a conveniently located little gem.

First of all, it's right off Jerusalem Road in Cohasset which is only like the most beautiful street in the world. Never been? Do yourself a favor and get in your car now and take a drive! Anyway, back to the farm. They have a few horses and chickens and goats, oh my. They have lots and lots of walking/hiking trails and you can bring your dog (though I shouldn't have mentioned that because now I've given away one of my secrets of places where you can take your dog that not everyone knows about). It's a functional vegetable farm and you can stroll through the grounds and see everything growing (when in season). You can also purchase all kinds of fresh produce here like lettuce, spring onions, heirloom tomatoes (and heirloom tomato seeds and/or plants as Emily mentioned) etc. More often than not, no one is there and you just take what you want and leave your $, a la the honor system. This is the kind of place that makes you forget you're only like 20 miles from a major city and really, where else can you find a farm that is across the street from the Atlantic ocean?
