I asked could I get 16/20's for wed. they said we are only cooking 8/12's.The shrimp we're in the case for $24.99 per pound. I was thinking about leaving and going to Fruit Center for 16/20. but figured I would shop local and ordered what I thought was going to be $50 when I picked them up today, they charged me $32.99 per pound, $65.98 saying that was the holiday price. talk about deception, I get aggressive holiday pricing, but....... .taking my business elsewhere read more

I have lived in this area for a long time and I am not sure why it is I have never noticed this wonderful seafood market in all these years. One of my commuter ferry friends told me about it when I told her I was looking to buy a bunch of lobsters for a party we were having. It is a small place in a Cohasset strip mall so it really is easy to miss. But I will miss it no longer when looking to buy seafood. The have a great fresh seafood selection and large lobster tanks containing lots of lobsters in varying sizes. The folks behind the counter are courteous, friendly and best of all, knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable....but of course seafood is expensive to begin with and mostly out of control of the shop owners. It is the service, the selection and the freshness that will keep me returning to this terrific, local shop. read more

Service could be friendlier at times (although Gerard is awesome!). If you like salmon, the marinated salmon is awesome - 400 degrees for 10-12 mins still leaves a tender center. Ginger/Apricot dipping sauce is worth getting to put on the salmon. Also, homemade crab cakes are fantastic! read more

I went and bought cod for $14.99/pound that looked like it had sat for a couple days. Went across the street to Shaws to get lemon and the freshest looking cod I had ever seen was $6.99/pound. It cost me $8 to never shop here again, and tell everyone I know to avoid this place. read more

The seafood selection is great, and all of the fish is extremely fresh. Prices are very reasonable; lobsters are cheaper here than at some wholesalers. The staff are very attentive, and will work with you to meet your needs. Call ahead if you want lobsters and they will set some aside and cook them for you if you like. read more

We are a long time customer who only buy (or used to buy) seafood from Mullaney's. I am writing this review after very poor customer service that I received recently. We ordered steamed lobsters over the phone to be picked up at 6 pm. When we got there and asked to pick up our phone order, the woman behind the counter very rudely responded that they didn't have such a thing. I gave the first name on the order (let's say John), she rudely responds "John WHAT?", twice. At this point, I am shocked with the attitude I'm receiving, which was completely unprompted. She shakes her head, looks at the book, doesn't see the name. I say that there were supposed to be 4 steamed lobsters. Then she discovers a pack of steamed lobsters in front of her. "Is it these that were cooked in the morning?" she asks me. Then she says, "yes this was the order for John, but the lobsters are cold, you have to put them in boiling water at home." At this point I ask why the lobsters were cooked 6 hours ago, when the order pickup time was 6 pm. She says that they cook them when they have time and that she explained this all on the phone (which she did not). After more bad attitude, I express my disappointment and pay for my cold cooked lobsters that have been sitting on their counter since the morning, because I have nothing else to give to my guests at home. The worst part of this experience is that the woman behind the counter treated me poorly the whole time, as if this surreal event was my mistake. Why would any sane person order steamed lobsters that sit on a counter for hours only to recook them in boiling water at home. Very disappointed... read more

As a local business owner, I shop at Mullaney's a few times a week. I have never received bad service or received a bad piece of fish from them. Bad employee's can happen. If someone had a bad experience with an employee (closing early review a few back from this one) then I'd hope they'd bring it to management's attention instead of shopping somewhere else. I know I would want to know. As a local business, feedback about service is hugely important to us and I'm sure to them. I haven't seen a female employee there for a while, BTW, so maybe that person is gone. read more

It's a mystery to me why the average rating of this institution is not higher. The service could not be more friendly, and the fish and seafood on offer is first-rate. Whenever I'm in the area, we almost always get our lobster and clam fix from Mullaney's, and we are never disappointed. Also, my friends who live in the area swear by the place. If there's one thing I miss about living in Massachusetts, it is definitely the seafood (not the winters!!!) My parents and I are mainly pescetarian and have been coming to Mullaney's for years (multiple times a week in fact!) Their seafood is top notch and the quality simply can not be beat. Googled on Daturday to find out what time they were ipen until...said 7PM. Got there at 630 and they were closed. Must have been a mistakr so went to Mullaney's website to clarify but they also say they are open until 7. Great product doesn't mean anything if you aren't open when you say you are. read more

Cohasset--I will only prepare fish that I purchase at Mullaney's for my family and guests, because, simply, there is no better fish to be had. The service is outstanding; they go over backwards to accommodate a customer, that includes cooking preparation tips that has made a huge improvement on my cooking fish to perfection. They stock amazing chowders and sauces created by their own staff who have culinary experience--they even readily volunteer the ingredients for anyone who asks. I frequent the store several times a week for at least the last 10 years. They aim to please, which is a luxury for today's shopper. It's a pleasure to shop there. read more

Great seafood and service. You can tell that all the fish is fresh especially when you compare it to seafood in a supermarket. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Seafood can sometimes be difficult to cook if your not familiar with it but they take their time explaining cooking tips, etc. as if you were family. Truly get the feel of a community store, many people such as myself are repeat customers. Don't go anywhere else for my seafood. read more
