I ordered a fully loaded Michelada and I was definitively NOT dissapointed. TIP: if you order a fully loaded Michellada, there is a pretty good chance that you do not need to order dinner/lunch. The bacon wrapped shrimp, the Mac&Cheese and the mini burgers in the drink was more than enough for me. Other things we ordered were: Fetuccini Alfredo and the Pastor Burger. The ambiance is family oriented - so don't be afraid to bring kids. We were not the only table with a child. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. I can not believe I worked across the street for years and lived in the area for years, had heard about this place and never had the urge to try it. We always get Chinese food from next door. Today we finally did and omg! Truly impressed, we arrived around 10:30am were seated quickly drinks and food came out accordingly, everything we ordered was delicious! The reviews are true! Absolutely a hidden gem. The parking lot and even surrounding businesses can be off putting, but do not be fooled! The theme in here around "día de los muertos" was in full force! As this adheres to my culture, it was a wonderful ambiance. We ordered Mac and Cheese Bites, Hot Wings, Burger & Fries and a 2 topping pizza! All came out very hot and made fresh. Everything was reasonably priced. This is a very good restaurant. In fact, it is probably the only gourmet restaurant in Lawndale. Located on the corner of Hawthorne Boulevard and Rosecrans, this restaurant is very easy to get to. Just look for the large Pep Boys store, drive into that parking lot, and you are there. The food here is very good. The interior atmosphere is very nice, as well. Once inside, you will not be disappointed. Outside, however, this restaurant is just your average looking restaurant location within a strip mall. But, don't let that fool you. The Corner Joint has a fairly extensive menu based around Americana. They have a good selection of burgers, pizzas, and various other foods. The thing to note about the preparation of their food is it is very well done! The presentation is great. The ingredients they use are great. And, the overall flavor of their various dishes are great. One thing I would suggest to keep in mind is that due to the quality of their food, their preparation time is a bit longer than your average restaurant. So, don't come in here, order, and expect for your food to be out in four or five minutes as it's probably going to take longer than that. In fact, probably longer than you're normally used to in other restaurants. But, once you get it, it is always worth the wait. Overall, a great restaurant. Truly unexpected for the area. I can only imagine the amount of non-stop business this restaurant would have if it were located in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, or Santa Monica. It is a corner joint. This restaurant is located on the corner of the Pep Boys strip mall. It doesn't look like much from the outside, not inviting at all. Because the windows have that reflective tint, you can't see what's going on inside, so when I stepped inside, I was pleased with the interior. It's casual dining. I ordered the breakfast pizza. It said it was personal size, but in actuality, it feeds 2. It took a while, but it really tasted good. Great pizza, with the handmade crust, spinach, bacon, tomatoes, and 2 sunny side eggs. Delicious, but had to take half of it home for dinner. I will definitely come back, so I can try something else. The staff were all very friendly. Plenty of parking. I am a huge michelada fan and omg the ones they serve here are amazing! Probably the best I've ever had. Love the cucumber and jalapeño slices on top which added TONS of extra flavor soaking in the michi. The burger we ordered was soooo good with tons of gooey melted cheese YUM. And pizza is pretty decent. Boyfriend and I have had a hard time finding a decent pizza spot in the neighborhood and we found one! We are both so stoked we finally tried this place and will definitely be returning for their sweet weekday drink deals and happy hour! Did I mention $10 all you can drink mimosas?! We came to try out the "best micheladas" in town and some food. We got one michelada with bacon wrapped shrimp and one Chelada with the mac and cheese balls and a couple other drinks that I cant recall the name of but one was spicy and delicious! The michelada and chelada were pretty good, not the best we have had but still good. Shrimp weren't worth the addon but the mac and cheese balls were really good. We also got a pesto pizza which was really good and surprised us. Our main complaint was that despite arriving before other groups they came to us to take our orders after others but we forgive them for having good food and mixed drinks. read more

Best little secret in this side of town! CJ has become my favorite place to eat. Great service and staff are always very warm and welcoming. I love this small owned business! My family and I go every Wednesday for wine Weds. We have yet to find something on the menu we didn't like. The drinks are good (like I said we mainly go for wine) margaritas are tasty if you aren't one who likes the taste of liquor. I've knocked three back thinking little to no alcohol was in it...oh boy.
